I mixed iron shavings in with vinegar and painted the wood with it. After a couple of hours the wood looks just like it was left outside for 100 years. I found this method by watching Dave over at Engels coach shop. He uses it to match new wood with old when restoring old wagon wheels. So I thought "i wonder if this will work on basswood or balsa?" it worked great! you should try it and see what you think. I didn't even have to touch weathering afterwards.

First, I loved the rough old truck (because I drive one), but then you add the trailer and bulldozer... And turned it into artwork! Incredible! I love it! The detail work is exceptionally amazing, I'm impressed! 👍🏻

This looks really good. If, in the diorama the bull dozer is meant to have been unused for a long time then the blade and tracks will rust but if they are used the blade and tracks will be shiny steel even after quite a short time running on dirt and bull dozing the dirt against the blade.
So detailed and realistic!! My imagination is running after seeing this...imagining an abandoned bulldozer like this, covered with a tarp in one of your dioramas.
You really are good at building models, very impressive!! I worked in a iron mine for many years and one thing you will find is that dozer blades get beat up. If you were to round the edges of the cutting edge and maybe put some patches on the body of the blade and some dents and maybe some tears in the edges, and gouges. The blade looks too pristine, like it was sand blasted and then left out to rust a little. It's just a suggestion, You do so much better work than me. I hope I can improve, and get closer to your level!!! You are an inspiration, thank you!!

I'm 62 and my career was running heavy equipment. This is so spot on it looks so real.
Wow. I built that AMT bulldozer kit when I was a kid in the 1970s. Watching this is like a time-warp.
