  • This video shows a big edging project I did on a yard with my Ego multi-tool edger. It hadn't been edged for over 10 years so I had to rediscover the plastic edging with my weed trimmer. I also made a manual edge using shovels around a large middle island.

1:31 It’s Pretty cool how the Kentucky bluegrass spreads over the pavement like a warm season grass despite not having a stoloniferous growth habit. It looks like the build up of dirt is what’s allowing the rhizomes to creep over and sustain itself.

Thanks for watching. I think because that area was so close to a sprinkler kept it growing. We have some hot summers here and usually KBG suffers in it. It keeps you guessing why it doesn’t do well where you want it and grows great where you don’t.

What do you do when edging and your lawn edge is about 3-4" over the sidewalk?

Thanks Steve - I don't know what kind of tools you have but this video just showed what I would use and it's a metal edger to cut through. If its along concrete it works great but if its plastic edging just turn your weed trimmer 90 degrees and go straight down on it.

Thanks. I watched a couple of your videos and gave you some likes. Looks pretty cold out there in winter. I used to live in Columbus, Ohio and I know about that.

@@yardbuddha thanks. Winters are pretty cold here in WI but it’s a great “reset button” on the yard and lawn.
