    Wow... I have seen this machine just once in an old tavern in Milwaukee... many years ago.
    I remember it only because 1) it had a bad flipper that made the game fundamentally unplayable and 2) the pumpkins on the back glass were distinctive to the play of the game. It was also not in very good condition. Similar to this one.
    I tried to play it, but the bad flipper just would not deliver a good play experience.
    Hope you can bring some new fresh life back into this gem of a machine.

    Very nice old Bally E M. …Good job on the fuse holders. …. one simple but really effective fix, just by changing the fuse holders…They don’t always need changing but these ones were past their reliable, use by date. The playfield scrubbed up very nice. Looking forward to the trouble shooting on this game. Thanks for sharing these old games with everyone.

    Back in my younger days, pinball was cool (as it still is now). But alas, quarters were in very short supply .. rich kids’ pastime. A little later on, my uncle got a couple .. sometimes we played them all night (Slick Chick was one of them).

    For the pop bumper covers, when the lettering/numbering is coming off like these, do you:
    1) Leave it as is.
    2) Try to paint the missing part back on.
    3) Replace the cap, if available.
    4) "Shut up and just watch the next/future videos and find out."

    Very fun learning more about these EM machines!
    1. Are there good LED options for the interior bulbs? I’d figure that the heat reduction and lower power consumption would be good reasons, but are they a bad idea for other reasons?
    2. I’ve had good luck cleaning stuff with baby wipes. Are they safe for machines of that era?
    Many thanks for sharing these.

    • @eDoc2020
      @eDoc2020 3 місяці тому

      LEDs will usually come on and go out instantly unlike incandescent filaments, also they might flicker. Other than that they should be compatible with typical EM machines.

    • @Howema
      @Howema 3 місяці тому +2

      you had me curious so i looked up options, i noticed there are foggers intended for cars for mouse urine, maybe something like that would help as it would attack the smell everywhere you cannot reach yourself. just have to make sure it wont damage anything.

    That is a neat old one. The amount of engineering to score is amazing.
    They were really smart back then.
    They used to teach physics and chemistry and high level math in high school.
    A recent study of highschool students graduating 12th grade in Philadelphia and Baltimore, not a single one of the kids scored higher than a third grade level on the reading, comprehension, or math CAT tests.
    That is terrifying
    Not a single student.
    The requirements for graduation from highschool are 1 remedial math course and 1 remedial science course.
    I saw the English and Social Studies lesson plans, and I honestly don't know how they are passing the final exams.
    I know in some cases they ask the teachers to make a " makeup " test of 10 really easy questions and they substitute them for the final exam score.
    I don't know what is happening to our country
    😢

    Hey, one of these just popped on our marketplace. They said it needs "adjustments" (i.e., it's broke). Cheap at $5K (according to the current owner), and he said to not lowball him, he can get more for it from some collectors, he just wants it gone. LOL...I really do live in the wrong place for this kind of thing. :(

      @@ThePlainswalker13 Around my area we have a bunch of people that think "Old" means "super valuable". We have people trying to sell old Atlas Drill Presses, that are in pieces, and missing parts, for $1000. Even fully functional 1940's Atlas Drill Presses are only worth $500 or so. Been looking on and off again for a couple years for a LeBlond Lathe with quick change gear box. I can drive to the Georgia Area and get them for $2200~$3500 with a 3 Jaw and 4 Jaw chuck, a bunch of tooling, etc...here? Non-Functional they want $10K quite often. Is what it is.

    It looks great all clean. BUT!!! Can I just ask, why dont you clean that apron cover and the top semi circle as well? Get rid of all the marks there, black scuffs, rust etc and take off the crappy decayed stickers and print a new rule sheet thing that is on the apron? I would use some cleaner to get the sticky old labels off the side of the back box and give it all a good wipe over as it looks filthy outside as well as under the playfield....

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  3 місяці тому

      You're not supporting the channel, you're criticizing the channel. You just asked a question, but it was a comment about how you would have done it better. You're going to continually be disappointed by this channel because we're never going to do it as great as you would do it... My advice would be for you to start your own channel with all of that knowledge you've amassed over the years, and show everybody the right way to do it. On your channel, you'll do a much better job cleaning the machines...
      The difference between me and you, though, is that i'll never tell you you're doing it wrong. Good luck!

    • @Simon-xc5oy
      @Simon-xc5oy 3 місяці тому +1

      @@LyonsArcade Fair enough. I admit I am OCD. I have Aspergers too and dont filter things. From my point of view, I could see all the good work cleaning the playfield, then the dirt on the apron etc and peeling decayed rule sheet that now stood out like a sore thumb. I can see you are busy and do good work. I just expected you to do the apron etc as well, and got frustrated. Maybe it will be done in another video. And yes I could start my own channel As I have repaired and rebuilt arcade cabinets myself and am currently building my own Virtual Pinball table, full size replica and its interesting. Plenty of other people have covered it though. I also work and restore classic cars as a hobby, working on and repairing trim, reconditioning and cleaning / recolouring the leather. And see first hand the mess things get into with wear and tear. So that is why I often get frustrated that people either dont look after things properly or keep them clean. But if you cant take the critics online when you are putting all this stuff out there its...well. I have said my bit. Goof luck fixing the table.
