I tried some of the newer gens panels before returning them as I wasn't impressed enough to warrant their 1200-1400 euro pricetag. Meanwhile the grab at 0:15 shows gen 1 QD-OLED now being EOL and so far that has been my most enjoyed gen, I still have the AW3423DWF, which is typically 800 euros and now on sale for 750 euro. I'm seriously considering just getting another AW3423DWF now while it's on sale, so I'll have one as backup and considering no new ones are being made it's basically now or never. Considering on heavy games (so not mobas or light games like valorant) on 4k you're already having a hard time staying above 100fps even with a 4090 I don't really see the point of anything 144hz or higher refresh rate, just kinda a marketing gimmick imho. I do admit the newer generation panels are a tiny bit crispier, and I realize I could just play on 1440p on a 4k panel, but then why am I buying a 4k panel and it's associated pricetag. Nah, the Dell Alienware AW3423DWF still seems to be the sweetspot imho, it's like the 1080ti, GOAT of OLED (ultrawide) monitors imho, the MSI MAG 341CQP is same gen, but some newer firmware, ports, kvm etc for only 50 more so it's a good alternative. If I'm not getting one of those 2 though it's going to be the super ultrawide Samsung Odyssey G93SC 49" OLED, it seems the best for the price out of the super ultrawides. These newer monitors are going to need 5090s or even 6090s (super ultrawide 4k is crazy) so the GPU upgrade will be expensive and these panels are going to be even more expensive than the top-tiers we have now at 1200-1400, combined with the aggresive 800R curve on many of them? Seems a like a good generation to skip.
5k curved 39inch? That's a yes from me! Not sure if I want it glossy or matt though. I have a 34 ultrawide in matt right now and i am pretty happy. Reflections are really annoying. I am not a Teenager sitting in a dark room all day.

(please be glossy and atleast 1000 Nits) 24 inch 1440p MiniLED with 2000+ Zones I love 24 inch monitors specifically for games like League of Legends/Starcraft where you can hyper focus on the game itself without much eye movement, everything stays in the peripheral vision. 27 inch 4k WOLED would be crispy, beautiful, and would be a joy for content consumption and creation.
Problem is that there's no way tech will catch up to this just yet, no body will be running anything at 8k 120hz not to mention the lack of 8 k content out there.
Dlss and fsr will allow games to be run upscaled to 8k and I'm pretty sure a 4090/next gen GPUs will be able to run games like rocket league natively at 8k 120
800R is crazy I dont want to sit so close I can feel the heat off the monitor. I'll just use my VR headset at that point. It'll probably be cheaper anyway.
I would like to see more esports grade tandem OLED, especially need 1080p 24 inch size at native 540-600Hz refresh rate and VRR range of 1-600Hz. Focusing on sustained 24/7 full screen brightness of 600 nits at both SDR and HDR. Also for all WOLED it would be nice to have Dolby Vision for cinematic experience. The last thing is why not cover ones seen in gaming laptops? Gaming laptops need LTPO tandem OLED as well at 1080p/WUXGA and 1600p, and need up to 480Hz and focus on lifespan and sustained full screen brightness as above. All need to be HDR10+ certified as well.
Have to say I have totally changed my tune on the monitor I bought originally coming from my brighter ROG Swift PG27UQ monitor to this Oled 4k PG32UCDM HDR originally I thought it was too dark. but since I have the monitor for 6 weeks now and set it up properly it has been great and plenty bright enough and actually it makes sense now proper 400 dark values makes sense, in fact I use either the hdr10 or dolby vision true dark and its both excellent but its the whites that show up more too ironically or not. personally i would never buy a monitor thats not a proper shape like 3840x2160 iwould do 5k but it wouldnt be widescreen
That thing looks insane! Unfortunately it will take a while before that resolution becomes more ubiquitous with a higher refresh rate. We will definitely be into 2035 for that

I just wanna have a 27" 1440p 240-250hz tandem WOLED w/ glossy coating and uhbr10 + full speed hdmi 2.1 ports (so no dsc). I guess I'll have to wait an eternity for a display with those specs to materialize.
I’ll tell you what, they better all come with DP 2.1 and have Dolby Vision. We know Samsung won’t have Dolby Vision and currently the only monitor currently with dp2.1 is the Aorus FO32U2P. Need this for future proofing as the 5090 will have dp2.1.
What do you want Dolby vision for? Are you using your monitor as a home theater? Neither ps5 or pc can use it properly, you'd have to get a deadbox or a streaming stick and figure out audio.
@kaiichinose9590 gotcha, yeah, it'd be nice to have dp 2.1 on all future oled monitors, although I don't mind compression at all, so I picked the msi mpg 4k over the gigabyte one that's 350 extra for that feature.
I really hope next year will be the year that I can finally pull the trigger on a new monitor. Been waiting for years but so many monitors don’t seem to hit my requirements
REFUSE to buy an OLED monitor until we get a *Diddy Baby Oil* display coating. Nothing like it, beautiful, glossy display coating with deep blacks and rich colors.
39" resolution this year was a very bad decision/design. Good to see they are shifting towards higher resolutions. I just hope those new resolutions can work out with the current gpu abilities
How are we not getting high refresh 4k to pair with 5090. Will be a shitty year if this is all that releases. Whats the point of releasing 4k 240 27 inch, might as well just give the 32's a 27 inch mode. Should be seeing at least 4k 360 next year
I’m currently debating on whether I should pull the trigger on the 57in Samsung monitor. While having it in OLED panel with glossy panels sounds incredible, I personally spend more time working than gaming, and my work requires having mostly static charts on the screen for 8+hrs/weekdays so a burn in would be a great concern unfortunately 😢 If tech developers can create an oled panel w/o any risk of burn in, that’d be absolutely incredible…
What would you say are odds of Dell / Alienware releasing some 32" flat OLED this year? I'm eyeing this variant but it's only available from other brands, which are way too expensive in my country (Dell are always significantly cheaper here for some reason).
Probably low. They already had the option to make the Alienware AW3225QF (a 32" QD OLED) be flat, but they specifically chose it to be curved. The competing monitors from LG, Asus, Samsung, MSI, etc, that use the same panel almost all chose the flat variant.
Can't justify OLED monitor dying from burn-in after a few years of use. Still using my old LCD monitor as a second screen with a new IPS now. Looking forward to MINI LED and MICRO LED displays
Asus needs to fix their current 4k 240hz qd oled. A lot of people are experiencing black screen issues while randomly watching a video or playing games. This has been happening for months and they have no answer for the issue.
I hope Samsung takes a leaf out of LG's book, and they make a QD-OLED 32" dual mode 1080p(480Hz)/4k(240Hz) monitor. Literally the only thing making me wait it out and see, is that QD-OLED is (imho), so much better than WOLED for gaming, but the LG monitor is perfect in every other respect.

For starters the 5090 will actually run anything at 8K120. Right now I'm running Flight Sim 2020 supersampled to 5K on the 7900XTX, average framerate is around 90fps but it goes up and down mostly dependent on the CPU bottleneck, which means I almost always have GPU headroom and 5K is more balanced than trying to hold 4K120, and if I'm running native 5K right now that would only look even better upscaled to 8K.
@@cenciende9401 Tomb Raider 2013 runs a solid 6K120 on the 7900XTX, which you'd be right to point out isn't 8K, but 6K will look a heck of a lot better on an 8K monitor than it does on a 4K monitor. Any time I want to go back and re-play a 10 year old game most of my GPU power is wasted trying to hold to just 4K resolution.
The ONLY upgrade I can see from my 34” Alienware would be a 4K 39” OLED 240hz Glossy with better text clarity. I have the DW model Alienware and 175hz is great but damn I am getting the itch bad for 240hz. I just need GPU’s to get more powerful so I can reach 240hz with at-least High Graphics Preset at 4K 😭 GPU technology is definitely behind Monitor Tech.
i am as 35 year pc user, we call screen that connects to pc or macs monitor. Rest is TV. So when talking about monitor TEXT CLARITY is must. I hope this oled bandwagon passes quickly.
Until Samsung employs a uniform curve to their curved monitors rather than essentially being just a flat monitor that's been folded in the middle, their curved monitors will remain irrelevant for many people The issues Samsung's fake-curve style of "curve" like strong visual distortions, visual & mental discomfort, extremely long (or even never-ending) accustomization period, image initially looking dented inwards or bulging outwards when switching to & from regular flat monitors, etc. do not exist or barely exist with monitors that have a true and uniform curve to them (regardless of curve radius). Some non-Samsung monitors also use this folded, fake-curve type of "curve" but I suspect they're using Samsung panels. Also, the super ultrawide TCL monitor in this video looked like it had the same problematic type of "curve" but difficult to tell for sure.
So what kind of dirty tricks have they prepared for us now, are they gonna increase size and resolution to push you towards need for better cards? Are they gonna put glossy screen onto monitors thats are gonna miss something else? Are they gonna call it glossy but still put some trash layer over it to "protect" your eyes 😂 or what is it going to be this time.

It'll truly be end-game display tech until we somehow figure out how to make cost-effective, sci-fi like ultra high-res 3D hologram displays or virtual displays through advanced implanted brain chips or something lmao
in retrospect: thank fuck we EVER managed to escape the several decades long asphyxiating death grip of shitty IPS/VA LCD display technology, so that we could finally have (vastly) better products and make significant, rapid advancements in R&D for the future of display technology
QD-OLED gen3 at 5120x2160 in 45" or 49" curved in 240hz (DP 2.1 full bandwidth) plz. Glossy.
I heard they are making one late 25 early 26 that will be 38-40 inches with those specs. A 40 1000R-1200R would be perfect IMO. PPI would be awesome on that screen.
45-49 feel too big. Def taking a 34
To bad qd-oleds burn in and lose brightness so fast. I think people are going to start noticing pretty soon.

WIth an 800R curve, I would be interested to see how they would overcome the self reflections that would occur if they were to use a glossy screen.

That upgraded 57" is what I'm waiting for. I've been using the original Samsung CRG9 from 2019 and it's worked very well but it's time for an upgrade soon 😁
Using the same monitor, and I'm in the same boat! I want an OLED so bad.
@@cenciende9401 I avoided oled like the plague originally cause I use FL studio to make music, didn't want to risk burn in. Thankfully it seems it's not much of an issue anymore with newer tech. Either way I'll probably bite the bullet and see how it goes 🤣
I have been using the CRG9 too with 5120 x 1440P and 120hz. I have been waiting for years now to upgrade but there is just nothing yet that has met my standards
Waiting for that tandem OLED! It’s so nice on my iPad can’t wait to have that real and usefull HDR in games.
Bro, it's a shame that Gigabyte, Xiaomi or TCL don't come out with a 42-inch screen. It's difficult to get something that size and that's QLED. In the end, they keep insisting on woled, which doesn't shine at all and the colors are inferior. Let's hope that this tandem improves things and that, as a tech tuber, the brands will give you more information. Regards, my friend.
My god tier monitor is 8k, 480hz, 32-42 inch, microled, full gorilla glass coating, even so that monitor is going to be released in 12 years xd.
1440 27 oled is already god tier. anything else is enthusiast level
2 dream monitors I want to see
the 27 inch 4k WOLED from LG end of next year. (please be glossy and atleast 1000 Nits)
24 inch 1440p MiniLED with 2000+ Zones
I love 24 inch monitors specifically for games like League of Legends/Starcraft where you can hyper focus on the game itself without much eye movement, everything stays in the peripheral vision.
LG needs to stop that 800R crap.
Seriously!
For sims it’s really good though.
Is 800r too much of a curve?
@ no it’s good everyone has different perspectives. Some like it some don’t
800R is crazy I dont want to sit so close I can feel the heat off the monitor. I'll just use my VR headset at that point. It'll probably be cheaper anyway.
I just hope they make Oleds with more than 300nits at 100%. They couldn't compare to LG C2 or other WOled Tvs
Dude that is all I want. I want a higher brightness oled with black frame insertion so I can run at 240hz and still get great brightness.
What I want to see, is DP 2.1a on the monitors, so you don't have to use DSC.
45" 5120x2160 Glossy DP 2.1 please LG please

HDR is trash tech, disable it...
@@drunkhusband6257 Explain. Trash how?

@kaiichinose9590 gotcha, yeah, it'd be nice to have dp 2.1 on all future oled monitors, although I don't mind compression at all, so I picked the msi mpg 4k over the gigabyte one that's 350 extra for that feature.

1440p, 480 Hz, OLED, that has 480 Hz backlight strobing mode, which doesn't reduce the brightness too much is what I need.
What is even the point of improving text clarity on an OLED. Is OLED actually capable to cater to this feature now?
I’m currently debating on whether I should pull the trigger on the 57in Samsung monitor. While having it in OLED panel with glossy panels sounds incredible, I personally spend more time working than gaming, and my work requires having mostly static charts on the screen for 8+hrs/weekdays so a burn in would be a great concern unfortunately 😢 If tech developers can create an oled panel w/o any risk of burn in, that’d be absolutely incredible…
Tandem OLED is way less prone to burn in so it's probably your best option as of now
Yea I’m waiting for the 45” 5k2k ultrawide

Until Samsung employs a uniform curve to their curved monitors rather than essentially being just a flat monitor that's been folded in the middle, their curved monitors will remain irrelevant for many people
The issues Samsung's fake-curve style of "curve" like strong visual distortions, visual & mental discomfort, extremely long (or even never-ending) accustomization period, image initially looking dented inwards or bulging outwards when switching to & from regular flat monitors, etc. do not exist or barely exist with monitors that have a true and uniform curve to them (regardless of curve radius).
Some non-Samsung monitors also use this folded, fake-curve type of "curve" but I suspect they're using Samsung panels. Also, the super ultrawide TCL monitor in this video looked like it had the same problematic type of "curve" but difficult to tell for sure.
