Thank you so much. Your video helped me replace the LCD for my Ford Escape. We may not need to take the back off, just detach the old lcd from the front and replace with new one. Thanks a lot, you save lot of bucks.
You are very welcome. I am glad the video helped you and I hope it saved you some money as well because the dealer charges a decent amount to do it around here.
@operationoverhaul Do you know if anyone has a video out there? How to replace the oil separator PC V valve on a 2014 Ford Escape with a 1.6, eco boost the small 4cyl cylinder. I can't seem to find anything on UA-cam on that.
@johnbrowning6615 I got mine from lkqonline.com but you can look at car-part.com and put in your heart make and model on the search and it will let you know everywhere near you that has one as well
Loved how you showed everything you did. I have a 2014 for escape. My digital part went out on my cluster. I’m on the hunt for another one. Where would I go to get one? A junk yard?
you can go to car-part.com and search up exactly what you are looking for and put in your zipcode. It will show you who has one and how far away it is as well.
It is actually a used one. If you go on car-part.com you can input all your cars info and the zipcode you are located in. Then it will list all the options around you.
Hey man. I am having an electrical issue with my 2014 escape. Ford told me i have a fried module in the instrument cluster. So they want $1k to replace it. Long story short. If i get a new instrument cluster from a salavage yard and just put my old LCD screen onto the instrument cluster from the salvage yard will the miles read right?
@operationoverhaul so what is happening is the bcm is working intermittently. To save you a Google search, the bcm is the computer for the windows, locks, a/c, power seats, power lift trunk. All of these work intermittently. The vehicle is on its 3rd dcm in the last 6 months, which never fixes the issue. The screen will also pop up notifications for "service engine now", "transmission not in P", and other warning labels. The vehicle has 60k miles and is in good condition otherwise. Currently if I disconnect the positive battery cable it will reset the cars electronics, as all cars do. The problem will then not happen for a day or so after this. Then I just disconnect the battery again and it goes away for a few days. Ford says it is the instrument cluster and that needs to be replaced. I just don't want to give them 1k to "fix" the problem. I can replace the instrument cluster, I don't have the means of reprogramming a new one. With that said; is the mileage information stored on the instrument cluster or the lcd?
@ericwallace1452 it is stored on the instrument cluster not the lcd. I had a customer with the same issue as you in their escape a couple of years ago and we had to change the actual wiring harness to the entire interrior/body ( not the engine) and that is what fixed her car. They had ford change their bcm and instrument cluster and it would work right for about a week then the same issues. I ended up tracing it down to about 15 wires that were sending bad signals and then after I did a body harness swap, she has not had any issues since. It was not cheap though.
Hey, great video! Curious.. if i buy one from a junk yard, is it plug and play and will just show whatever the milage is on the junk yard speedo, or will it need to be programmed? Or do i still need to swap the lcd screen as well, and will still show junk yard milage?
If you buy one from a salvage yard or junk yard, it will not need to be programmed. But if you do not switch the LCD to the old cluster assembly you will have whatever mileage the junk yard unit reads.
@@operationoverhaulI just bought a used one from eBay. Just the LCD screen. Your walkthrough was fantastic! Should I confirm with the seller that my mileage will carry over? It never even occurred to me that the information would be stored in there.
@@operationoverhaul Thank you! I did it as you showed, and it was pretty easy! Making sure the cable clips back in properly seems to be the most delicate part. Your video had the perfect amount of detail. Thank you so much for sharing that!
if my 2014 ford escape titanium doesnt have the digital speedometer in the display can i replace it with a later model LCD and have the speedometer or is that not poissible?
If you do it exactly like in my video it will keep the mileage. You are basically keeping everything and just replacing the screen. This way you keep the mileage of the vehicle.

@@operationoverhaul can I just buy a new lcd and will it do the same
@johnbrowning6615 the last time I looked ford did not offer just the lcd. They only offered the entire cluster

My car has same issue and the driver side rear light not working as well.
This is a fairly common issue on these cars. What have you checked regarding the light?
