This phase looks so very well done and the map and cards are beautiful and the story feels authentic enough :D Thank you so much for the play through Mike! Appreciate the care you took to pronounce everything correctly :D Can't say how much more you made me anticipate the arrival of the game. Will watch the second phase and hope it lives up to the now rather high expectations ^^ A bit worried the rules are not too clearly written ... it will be hard to get to the table with my friends anyway as I will have to do all the on-the-fly translation. I might consider soloing it though :P
During the campaign, it did not appear that this phase would be as interesting as this playthrough reveal. This is great news that this phase is pretty exciting. I'm looking forward to your other playthrough. Great job.

The shōgun’s influence is not updated at the beginning of the first adventure round (the one just after the initial setup). For example, the initial influence is 4 for the first round in act I, chapter 1.
Yeah, things like the enemies not activating when spawning are some of the things that aren't at all clear on the card or in the rules, but the publisher has clarified after the fact. Of course I was going in before any of those answers or FAQs were available. 😅 It's a fun game, but people playing this first edition/printing are going to have to make a lot of judgment calls or check the forums frequently, unfortunately.
when i backed this i somehow misundersttod the adventure/dungeon switch aspect. i thought you went to a location on the map, did a dungeon, move to a new location, do another dungeon etc. i was worried i was going to have to sell it when i found out they are actually entirely separate acts. I was also unaware of the necessity to play 4 heroes. I look forward to the review and other video to see for sure!
I want this game but think I'll wait for the inevitable second printing. Can already see some issues and improvements they can make (better writing on cards to make it easier to know what you're supposed to do and when , have a colored outline around each territory to know what the boundaries are to be able to tell how many enemies are there, maybe some more event cards as I assume after 20 plus scenarios youre definitely going to see lots of repeating events, no way I would remember which characters did or didn't defeat an enemy etc).
Agree with basically all of that, though I’ll note you unlock and “retire” the movement events pretty frequently, so you aren’t seeing the same ones a ton
Looking forward to this one in a few weeks! Can I ask, will you be looking at Fateforge: Chronicles of Kaan anytime soon? I didn't back it but am considering a retail pre-order if it's any good. I didn't love Vengeance: Roll and Fight, which this one seems to be heavily inspired by, so I'm still on the fence.

My copy arrived recently. I did an unboxing yesterday and hope to dive into it sooner rather than later (although it is likely to be later)
That “later” part certainly resonates. I think I’ve received 10 games for coverage between last week and this week. Can’t play em all right away!!

I enjoyed fateforge back when I did my preview. If they send me a copy I’ll cover the final release, but I’m not sure if they will.

In this main mode yes. I believe in one of the other modes in the game (Jubei’s Curse) it’s true solo
