With these prompts I feel your ideas are usually just limited to how much you can fit on the prompt page, but when you let yourself just get comfy and just doodle in your iPad we get to see WAAAY more of your sketching process which I really enjoy. And it's great how to start digitally and finish in the piece with traditional materials. It's the best of both worlds! 🎉🐜
The idea of curvey or thicker girls and guys getting into the ballet word is not uncommon. Ballerinas are actually very muscular because of the muscle control that ia needed. It dissapoints me that people actually think that dancers are always thin and petite when that's really not true at all. I don't mean to be rude, I just want people to know that it's not true.
Tomato Alert As someone who has seen pictures of ballerinas I have to say that they are some of the most insanely buff people I’ve seen. Like they could crush most small objects with their thighs.
Tomato Alert I think it’s more of a media thing. In movies, tv shows, books, etc, ballerinas are always super thin and petite. In reality, they aren’t that way. One of my friends has been in ballet for quite a long time, and she’s super strong. Like you wouldn’t expect how strong she is. I have a lot of respect for ballet dancers.
The story that I immediately thought of when you mentioned a mouse without a tail: A mouse loses her tail, and because animals use their tails for balance gets really clumsy and is always falling over. She takes some dance classes to improve her balance and body awareness, and falls in love with ballet. Later on she teaches kids ballet because she wants to share that feeling of poise and control with others.
Mice use their tails for balance, so maybe she lost hers in an accident and thought she'd never dance again but here she is! Overcoming her disability and teaching others to love ballet
Fun fact: following on from the thing where the mice cutting off their tails and people modifying their body’s to do a hobby choir boys would cut off their testicles before puberty to prevent their soprano voices from deepening essentially preventing puberty
You just have a handle on this prompt video series I have not seen anyone else do so well with this book! I think you do a great job with every prompt even when your not happy with your solution you have done a great job with your ideas! You have a great imagination and you can bring your ideas to the paper! Nicely done!
I have just now watched ALL your videos! It took me a month of binge watching but I did it! You are so inspiring and weird! I love it! Your art is so unique and wonderful. Thank you for sharing!
Watching prompt videos during 10 hour layovers at the airport are helpful. Coming home after no sleep and staying up to watch one, maybe not the best self-care option to most, but to me...
I believe in you Kasey! For me, prompts help me get over a funk because I don't have to sit down and tackle "wow .. what the HECK do I feel like drawing"
I love the story idea! That along with the illustration reminds me of Dr. Seuss. I could see myself reading it to my kids and having long fun discussion about the logistics of a fish in a dance class ❤️👍🏻
Never in my life have I ever seen someone draw a picture digitally and then trace over on paper. For me, it's usually paper, and then I re-draw it digitally. You just shook my entire view on everything.
This prompt book has pushed me back into drawing in a way nothing else has. Because there are so many images they aren't important (like an image that you work on for months) and you do a lot of it, so about 100 all of a sudden I wanted to draw and liked what I was doing. I couldn't combine the items, that's still too hard. Thanks!
I really love your illustrations, this one looks like a nice actual story. I mean, all your illustrations do, but this one really looks like, right out of a book! I also like that you put so many thoughts in the story, love the detail about the fish father getting a job on land and the nice bowltrousers that come with them. I could also imagine them having different shapes, like skinny legs, or bellbottoms, or tights with some fun patterns on them etc. Your videos really get me thinking about these kind of things, and that's great! Also cool that the ballet shoes are realistically tied, no one does this criss cross up the leg, at least I found it to be extremely unpractical. That said, I think I would have been happier with this video if the pointe shoes would work, like, in a real way. I know your style is very simple and stylized, so it's not a complaint but a mere suggestion, to make them look like real pointe shoes. In case you're interested in that here it comes: Pointe shoes have a box shape on the front, and that's like super important for being able to hold the balance. This box is very hard, if you got hit with that it would hurt. A lot. Standing on a sharp tip is not possible.
If you make those fish into a book I'll tell everybody I know with kids about it! THat just sounds adorable! Also drawing animals isn't weird, at least for kids' books. Most kids' books I see have animals. ^^ So I think the fact your branching out to animals alongside your people is good seeing how you want to make childrens' books.
I'm sure you will find a way around this art block. I can see when you just do stuff for yourself your drawings have a lot of personality, and this will eventually come back :)
lightbox apps for ipads can be a good way to avoid being able to move things while you're drawing, i have one and you can have it as just a plain white lightbox so you can trace traditional stuff or you can put images into it, and then the screen can be locked on that image so it wont move, pretty helpful
Obviously the fish feels left out cause it's not his/her legs doing the ballet, it's the robot legs, and all the other animal children are mean to him/her cause they have to work hard while the fish just sits in a bowl letting the fancy robot legs do all the work
It’s possible to lock the screen of an iPad or iPhone completely (child safe mode). I know from having the exact same issue with image tracing ☺️ Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > turn Guided access ON and turn Accessibility shortcut ON and set up a passcode. Now in any app, you can triple-click your home-button to decide what screen touch and button features should be on or off.
I had an idea for the mouse's back story She was born with a birth defect, that birth defect being her missing tail. She always had problems with keeping her balance without a tail, that was until she found ballet. Her tail wouldn't get in the way so she became an amazing ballerina who wanted to motivate others. That's also why she became a ballet teacher. I know, it's not worth a gold medal
You did a good job of removing the jewlery from the dancers. We aren't allowed to wear big jewlery. Like big loop earings (we move a lot and hands and hair and grab the loops and can hurt both people.) Long necklaces [ choakers are allowed ] (it can smack someone while we turn). The only time you wear those is during the big show. (If you're going solo).
With these prompts I feel your ideas are usually just limited to how much you can fit on the prompt page, but when you let yourself just get comfy and just doodle in your iPad we get to see WAAAY more of your sketching process which I really enjoy.

I thought the mouse was a dachshound 😂and I also thought It was male. But it looks great! Love the fish with the legged bowls
That ballerina butt is poppin! I love the backstory for the fish, ahaha!

IM ALWAYS WAITING FOR YOU TO MAKE THESE VIDEOS!
Who else is happy she doesn’t put the prompts in the title
I need to learn watercolor.. I usually draw only with ink.. Love it your illustration!
I recommend the winsor and newton cotmans student watercolours, pans are fine but tube paint is always more vibrant :)

It’s sad this is one of the things I look forward to most 😅
For your intros, I used to think u added an ant in front of the sketch book cover, every time u did a new prompt lol
...she does...
I mean she didn’t start right when the prompts started but that’s kinda the thing
@@gothrice and @waterfxllss r/woooosh
? She adds one every prompt video
She did it for a bit but now she has space between when she draws them on the front
As soon as I seen the prompts I immediately thought of a jewelry box with one of those ballerinas that spin inside and play music.🤷♀️
Love your prompt drawings, Kasey!♥️ best wishes from Lithuania!
Lithuania here too🤘

Been having trouble finding motivation to draw but seeing all of the cute drawings you and the followers do, make me feel excited ❤️
Fish racism? Fishism.

the Ocean is the Country and Land is the City! i love this prompt and art today Kasey!
I like your stories you come up with, it brings life to your drawings

This would be a really good story idea! It’s super cute and I think it’d be a good for a storybook.
That chunky cat is precious, and made my day, thank you.
This would be such a cute kids book idea, and it kinda has a message.
I just noticed the little alligator/crocodile! It's so cute I love it!
I love this so much!
I really love this, and it reminded me of my own ballet class and my ballet teacher!
I tend to use an app called Lightbox trace for tracing from my iPad.
Love to watch when you do your prompt drawings, it's really nice to watch! :D

The fish with the robotic legs are absolutely brilliant!
I love this update and all the little backstories
Thank you so much for not using that original tying method for the shoes, I was cringing the entire time you drew them like that!
I could totally see this as a kids book!! It looks fantastic!!
It's okay Kasey
this is the earliest i've ever been to your videos and great art
I was just an innocent passer-by but your art style makes me happy, so.. here I am, subscribing :)

I zoned out while watching and only got caught back in when Kasey said "fish racism."
Animals doing ballet somewhat reminds me of Princess Tutu. Absolute masterpiece.
Yes!! Princess tutu is great ♡
The fish with robot legs are so fun and creative!
at first i totally didn’t think that mouse teacher was a mouse i thought it was a dog so i think it’s fine it doesn’t have a tail😂
I feel my inspiration growing while watching your videos❤
The freaking alligator crocodile id my favorite its so freaking cute
The center sketch is how Kasey feels when an art block comes in

I want the cat and the fissh to become best friends besides the odds omg!! Love this prompt it has a really strong children's book vibe💕💕

Her tail wouldn't get in the way so she became an amazing ballerina who wanted to motivate others. That's also why she became a ballet teacher.

How can she be so creative at every promps she makes Xb
At 1:20 it looks like the animal is part of the little girl’s hair. Kangaroo ponytail!
omg you should have done a ballerina stealing jewelry! I think it would be really funny while a ballerina dodges all the cops lol
The queen uploaded 😭❤

You did a good job of removing the jewlery from the dancers. We aren't allowed to wear big jewlery. Like big loop earings (we move a lot and hands and hair and grab the loops and can hurt both people.) Long necklaces [ choakers are allowed ] (it can smack someone while we turn). I thought the teacher was a dog so I didn't really think about that they didn't have a tale😅
