I think I will be involved in research and development of antivenom in Baringo...maybe Kabartonjo and environs because I see reports from here...whatever I can do to help will be welcome.I am in Dallas,Texas.
Weue growing up my grandma's KTL home was snake infested, you could find them in bed, the water, on roofs. I know exactly the phobia these people are living in. How much would it cost to equip families with anti-venoms. Sooo sad
You cannot equip each family with snake antivenom. Those drugs needs special storage systems (like fridges). Unless the health research centers developed the powdered one. The best approach is the government to erect dispensaries all over that region. So that at least in every 5km, they can access one medical facility. The county government is the one to blame. It is almost 10yrs now since the devolved functions were initiated. Those county officials are just there for themselves and their families but not those who elected them. In fact, Baringo county has proven to be poorly managed.
Why does Dr. Omondi dismiss the intervention importance that the black healing stone offers to community upfront yet there is profound evidence of it's effectiveness? Kindly could he provide us a dissertation on the subject. 18000 perceived or actual is too big a number to water down importance of this mysterious 'rock'
nice work done by the journalist, it’s now the responsibility of those culpable of mending the situation to do so in a timely manner. It’s unfortunate that the whole leadership hasn’t done anything. I share in the pain that my fellow Kenyans have to go through
Something doesn't add up with Esther the traditional healer. They say she is 57 years old and she claims that he has used her magic stone for over 60 years?? Someone help me understand.!!
I surely will help. I believe it has to be based on the Kenyan snakes and harvest or,management of antivenom....it's a new thing or,concept for me,but am willing to be involved.
I know how its like to live in rural areas infested with snakes. I once woke up and found a black mamba on my bed. Mungu ndiye anajua venye sikulalia hio nyoka usiku yote. Saa hii labda ningekuwa ndunia ingine. I thank God
Very sad, Sorry to the affected FAMILIES and our COMMUNITIES AT LARGE. To us coming from the very place its a big challenge and its a NATIONAL DISASTER. We need a PERMANENT SOLUTION TO THIS.
@Joy Ngima .....We are not laughing at the situation facing these people dear ....It is at the naivety of your solution to the problem ....We know your future husband will come from here as you State but wondered weather you were listening all along ...The warden stated that human encroachment into areas not previously occupied by humans is part of the issue.....You stated that you want them poisoned and relocated to national parks !!!!!Sister ....Don’t you realize how naive that solution is ???Its like saying all sharks should be killed so that you can comfortably swim in the Indian Ocean !!!Poisoning and relocation does not seem like a n educated solution especially if you understand the role of snakes in an ecosystem...The reporter actually has emphasized the repeated need for finding adequate health facilities and anti venom supplies as a more viable solution to this unfortunate problem ....So your solution to the issue is what frightened some people who read your comment and hence our response !!!

The black stone just has a placebo effect
They are busy yapping about 2022,
See the life of a normal Mwananchi,so heartbreaking. May God preserve you people of Baringo
Take KDF clinician in those areas permanently..
Venom bank is the only solution to this kind of disaster.
Aki hawa watu c wahamishwe this is very painful

These people live in fear. Anti venoms should not miss in those families living in such areas

She doesn't look 57 she looks older
Huyu mama hajasoma, may be hana clue hata na time, kindly ignore the minor detail, she is assisting, that is what matters
Huyu mama anakaa 75years and beyond, n she must have been married off at tender age as it were those days. May be alioelewa akiwa 15years
I guess this was not a good area to settle people. Maybe it should be a game reserve

Tapanya hyo, tatoa venom kerio yote...Bureee Kabisa. Shameful how people die from simple treatable cases.
KEMRI needs to put up a research facility for antivenom
Aki waafrika tuamke. Ati antivenom zinatoka mexico, india, france.
The fruits of corruption
With the number of snakes in Baringo we could have a factory of antivernom and supply the whole world. Wacha tuamke!
@@s.m6963 true
We are good in corruption
The county government should look into the situation deeply... it is now County disaster
I got a call while watching this video and i just dropped the phone. LoL. That's how scared I am . Poleni lakini.
I wonder why she keeps on referring to snakes as poisonous. Snakes are venomous but not poisonous
Start keeping cats, cats were considered sacred in Egypt for many reason and one of them is their ability to fight and kill snakes.
Yeah they help and also keeping water outside , burning tyres outside
Am kinda speechless, where is the Government?
Kuna plan??????ama you people have to take immediate action....what plan mr MCA???
They should advocate for natural mechanisms also .like cats and dogs atleast to alert them when they vome
County government should do something to its pple asap
Jesus Christ your people need you
With all they sun there, they lack refrigerators to keep the anti vernon. Kenya cannot be helped.
Wanyonge hawana haki
Gaaai! Na unaishika? Zero chills
The one she held isn't venomous. You can't die
Hata hakuna stima barabara ndo hio hakuna oooh God why do you let this leaders see tomorrow they so weaked God

The Authorities concerned for instance KWS would be able to COMPENSATE THE affected FAMILIES.
God will deal with the leaders from this area
This place needs a predator in this case mangoose.
Why can't kws trap all those 🐍 🐍 🐍 and take them to the park all just poison them. It's too sad!!
