  • In this video I install the Yoshimura R77 slip-on exhaust. To skip directly to the sound comparison go to 4:52. This is a premium quality exhaust from a name that's been synonymous with the powersports industry since 1954 and they design, test, and manufacture their products in Chino, California. Their exhaust systems are designed to last for the long haul and can be refurbished and repacked as necessary.

    good exhaust sound. If you shorten this video to just the exhaust sound comparison and maybe a quick description of how to install It would have way more views

    You may have a heat shield issue with the new muffler, be careful.

    I see you bought your RZR from Abernathy's in Union City,TN. What'd you get yours for OTD including Tax?

      @Jason____  8 років тому +1

      Yep I've had nothing other than positive experiences with them and you can't beat their prices. It was $14,494 and I didn't pay sales tax in Tennessee since I'm out of state. I did have to pay 7% sales tax in Indiana when I registered/titled it so that was just over $1,000.
      Right now (6/6/2016) their price on the exact same model is $13,694 since it's really close to the end of this model year's cycle. They may drop a few hundred more when the 2017 models are announced to make room for inventory.

      Thank you for the quick reply! Did you get the extended warranty for the $14,494?

    do you need a fuel controler with that exhaust?

    • @Jason____
      @Jason____  8 років тому +1

      I don't currently have one and I didn't think I'd need one at first, but I have had some occasional deceleration crackle that tells me it's probably on the lean side. So I'd like to get an AFR gauge on it to see for sure.
      If I do end up changing fuel control I'll reflash the ECU and get it tuned to my modifications since it's more bang for your buck in terms of power and other improvements. Namely the lower temperature to kick the radiator fan on. Most of them adjust the temp from 205 to 185.

    How do you like your suspension vs a rzr 1000 setup?

    • @Jason____
      @Jason____  8 років тому

      I've never driven or ridden in an XP1K so I can't really compare those two. I have ridden and drive. an XP900 and the trailing arm setup is nice especially if you're going to have a lot of harsh landings and jumps. It's also probably better for aggressive hill climbing.
      I'm happy with mine, though, for my riding style. I don't putt around by any means, but I also don't abuse my machine so it does everything I need it to do. There's noticeably less travel than a 1K and it's probably not as plush.

    The only way this piece will make your RZR accelerate faster is by removing weight from your wallet.

      +doug collins Was there a claim made for this slip-on to improve acceleration?
      Clutch work paired with an ECU reflash will be the best option if you’re looking to improve acceleration. A slip-on, in conjunction with a clutch kit and reflash, would probably tack on another 3 HP or so.

      You get a lot more than 3hp with a stage 1 tune alone on this year (2015+) 900. I've done a stage 1 aftermarket assassins tune and all stock otherwise. The gains were very noticeable on bottom and mid range. Pulls as hard as the 1k up to about 30-40mph now. Supposedly this tune gains near 20% over stock due to the factory throttle limiters in place on these models. Easily 10+ more HP with just the tune. You can feel it
      Thought I'd add my experience is with the 4 seat models, results may differ in the 2 seaters. Comparing a 2015 900 eps 4 and a 2017 xp1k 4. 1k definitely still pulls harder up top, make no mistake tune or not the 1k spanks the 900 up top in these heavier rigs
