    Works great, I've used the same bag at least 15 times now, sanding drywall, I'd normally use 2 bags per house. 👍

      That' some heavy duty sanding Bob. I mainly use the vac for extracting from my router so the waste is fairly light, a bag of dry wall dust must be quite heavy.

    Nice one, Chris. 45 bucks for 5 midi bags here. They pack a lot of sawdust in every bag, but it still turns out expensive. Thanks for the tip. Happy New Year.

    Great idea, Chris. I imagine you could do the same with most vacuum cleaners as well.

    Great tip for when your last bag is full mid project as it's super easy to get the bits required for this tool hack! Thanks

      Hi Paul, thanks for the comment. Have you made any progress with the bench? I am planning a video on it in the next month or so. It's all filmed I just need time to edit it.

    Can you please tell me what the piece is that you're putting the dowel into? I'm in the US unfortunately... new to DIY but tired of wasting these bags

    • @MrCJTribe
      @MrCJTribe  4 роки тому +1

      In the UK we call it trunking. It's plastic channelling which you fix to the wall surface, the cabling runs in it and a capping fits over it. You may have to experiment with different sizes of dowel and trunking before you get a combination which is just right. I used 1" trunking and 1/2" dowel.

    What is the name of that snap track you are using? I can't tell what you said it is in the video? I'm in the US, is there another name for it. Or where is it used normally? Maybe I can find it that way if they use a different term for it here...
    Thanks
    PS: I tried to find this instruction on your website but couldn't...

      Hi. The stuff I used is called trunking in the UK. It's used for running cabling and consists of a "U" shaped plastic section which is attached to the wall, the wides are run in this section then a plastic topping piece is clipped on top. The "U" shaped piece is used to seal the bag, I think it was 20mm or 25mm (3/4 or 1" ) wide. Hope that helps.

      @@MrCJTribe - Yes it does. Thankyou!
      I went looking for it, but found nothing that big or U shaped like you have. Here they have a couple names for it, mostly referred to as wire or cable raceways.
      The only one I found close was metal. I'm still looking though. Hopefully I can find it as your way seems easiest with no real cutting involved except for length.
      If I can't find it, I may have to go to the alternative method of using round poly or pvc pipe.
      Thanks again for expounding on what it was.
      Cheers...

    what is the name of the u-track?

    • @MrCJTribe
      @MrCJTribe  5 років тому +2

      It's not manufactured as U-track, it's sold as cable trunking, a snap on cover fits over the "U" when used for trunking. The trick is to find a size that will fit a suitable dowel diameter. I think mine was 20mm with 12mm dowel. I will check when I am next in the workshop.

    Does anyone make a bagless dust extractor?

    • @MrCJTribe
      @MrCJTribe  4 роки тому

      Good question Ashley. I don't know of a bagless vacuum extractor suitable for power tools.

      My brother has been using the Bosch gas 25 for years with no bag hasn't blown up yet as long as u blow out filters regularly. I have bought the trend and regret not buying the Bosch to me the filter in the trend is in the wrong place and limiting what u can get into bag

      @@MrCJTribe You need a cyclone attachment. it solves everything (just chose a good one, R&D UA-cam a bit). You no longer lose suction power because your "tub" fills up not the bag, which remains empty and thus efficient and offering maximum HEPA filtration. You wont even need your life hack, since the bag remains empty for ages. No doubt after a year or so the bag will simply wear out with all the inflation and deflation friction, or due to bag defects, there will come a point where you should replace the bag. But otherwise all the dust and debris goes into the primary vortex and down into the tub. See here;

    Why buy a Festool in the first place?

      you can ask the same question about a lot of things, but that doesn't mean it's always the wrong choice to buy that thing.

      +Nicholas Smerk 'cos they are well built, powerful and reliable. Running courses I need equipment I can rely on. It's embarrassing to say you can't use the router because the extractor has broken down.
