  • Here are a couple of workshop tips that I hope you will like. The first makes it easier to see etched scales on my rulers and squares, the second is an easy way to extend the life of my shopvac bags, saving me money and saving the environment, too.
Enjoy the blooper at the end and please remember to Like, SUbscribe and Share, it matters.

Loved the tip to make things more visible, and great idea for the bags ... but the Freudian slip at the end was brilliant!

    I love this idea!
    I sand hardwood floors.
We have a few vacuums that require bags.
    I hate replacing them daily..
    (Around $10 each)
    I’m going to try this!!
    Thanks

Love the Festool bag idea. I just installed a zip at the bottom, but your idea is certainly easier / quicker

If you have paper bags fold over the cut open end/edge and clamp that. the seal will be more effective

I don't use the paper bags but why can't you cut off the vertical edge and then use your pipe clamp like you do on the fiber ones?? Will that work in place of the clips? ?? ???

Why not cut the bag along it's edge instead of it's bottom, don't need all them clips then Steve m8

You could indeed do that, but the seal is not perfect, so it does leak a little bit to start with. This way, the dust itself completes the seal very quickly, and that would take longer if the side was open all up its length.
Edit - Ah, I see what you mean! Use the straight clip but vertically. Yes, that would be a good way to do it. Lots of options, really.
