Putting Bowie and KW on the same level as "geniuses" was a real stretch. Also, way too many details are reported incorrectly in this podcast so this made for difficult listening for this 50+ year fan but, appreciate you guys doing a show on Bowie as maybe it will lead someone to seek out his work. ⚡
@@ChrisCornell420 Number one : Bowie's musical, Lazarus, opened off-broadway on December 7th in NYC, This was also his last public appearance. Blackstar was released on his Birthday Jan 8th, 2016, he died 2 days later on Jan 10th. (The podcast says he died 2 days after opening night of Lazarus) #2 The discussion of touring is misleading as if you listen to that whole interview those references were more about doing the same set night after night and boring himself and his audience. In the 90's he found a great middleground, touring with both NIN for his Outside album and joining Moby's Area 2 tour, Performin complete albums like LOW and Heathen and doing much smaller shows, many of which I attended and because it wasn't the old school same set every night rock slog of old, you could see he was in his element and having a great time with a great band behind him. Because he bonded so well with that band who learned upwards to 160 songs from his back catalog he decided to do a full world tour for Reality and was able to play different sets and songs every night to keep things very exciting. Again, I saw 6 of these shows and each of them were fantastic in their own right and part of that was the enthusiusm he felt from having a cracking band, an audience who was game, and the space to be open, playful, and in the moment. #3 the information about his marriage was amusing as Angie and he married so she could get her UK citzenship, not for love, so it wasn't like the 3-way was anything out of the ordinary for the two of them at the time, and speaking of Angie, she started the rumour that Bowie and Jagger had sex to sell her book on the Joan Rivers show after a 20 year gag order. It was a low blow tabloid & tawdry moment that I found very sad at the time. Finally, trying desperately to compare Bowie to fascist lunatic KW and his egomania was completely laughable and misguided, putting Bowie on a level with that clown was the biggest turn off . David Bowie was indeed a genius whose work will live on for decades to come while KW will slowly sink into oblivion as everyone knows a genius doesn't have to go around telling everyone who'll listen that they are one, their work should speaks for itself. Bowie was the real deal, the other one is just a charlatan. ⚡
