Tipper, that's a wonderful interview ans I love that Matt was in charge of the questions. I can't believe that I heard a few things today that I didn't know about you and the Blind Pig, I've been here from the beginning and I've had great pleasure in watching it grow. I'm so very proud of you! The Deer Hunter, my son, certainly found a precious gem when he found you. You go Girl ! You are absolutely amazing!
I Found your channel today and it was a blessing as I am an old(er) lady and am alone and I feel like I have found a new friend....I will watch alot of your videos that are here. This video really introduced me Thank you for your channel.
I don't know how i stumbled on your sight but so glad i did....i grew up on the opposite side of the state... rural eastern n.c, ..and life is or was basically the same ....farming, gardening, hunting, fishing etc...i had to laugh and cry thinking about sitting around with my Grand parents shelling peas, snapping green beans etc.. and oh i cursed it then....and oh how i would give anything to sit around and do it with them now....thank you
I also remember getting yelled at about slamming the screen door but now that I'm grown, I love the sound of the squeaky hinge springs and the thwack as it hits the jamb- it sounds like life going on at the house, and I slam the screen door at every opportunity.
big thanks for sharing these insights, vignettes, and glimpses into your life and broader appalachia. some warm wisdom here. cheers, tipper, to you and your family.
Tipper, my husband and I whose roots are in Arkansas, started watching your recipes on UA-cam, and fell in love with your food and your stories. Thank you for your wonderful informormation. Your family histories remind us of our own.
Just starting watching your videos. They are wonderful. The cultural information is great. It sounds like you have a very fulfilling life. Thank you for sharing.
I love the fact that you absolutely adore where you live and everything you do. I just want to let you know something, you and your husband have done such a good job raising two beautiful bright and kind young ladies. I love watching them and how much they love the simple things in life. It is so refreshing to see a family like yours and I wanted to tell you y'all did a good job. I will continue watching you because I learned something new with each of your videos
What an excellent oral biography! I'm sure your girls and their potential Offspring will enjoy watching this years in the future. Thanks Tipper for sharing , and you too Matt, for questioning and recording.
You have such a sweet and loving vibe about you. I just started watching your channel and I’m totally addicted. Also reading your blog. I love it all and wish more people lived the way you do. I wish I would’ve had the same type of childhood. My husband and I are striving to provide the same type of old style closeness. Thank you for sharing your life!
Thank you and your family for all that you do. We appreciate so much watching your channel and The Pressley Girls. It's so refreshing and really has restored our faith in day to day living. Please keep doing what you're doing and we'll be checking in with you and your girls each day. Therman and Susan Deason, Georgetown, TX
I am so enjoying listening to you talk this afternoon, Tipper. We have transplanted here to Murphy, NC 16 years ago from Florida because I always had the dream of living here. I will continue watching, thank you for your time and life experiences. All the best to you all.
I’m glad to have found your channel. I’m from NorthEast Tennessee in Cumberland Gap. 95% of your sayings and vernacular are the same as mine. I just lost my Daddy unexpectedly in August. He was a very well known professional Bluegrass musician and he and I have always been strong proponents and somewhat “defenders” of our Appalachian heritage. He instilled a need and desire in me to keep the stories and traditions alive and to pass them down through the family. My Dad’s name was Steve just like your brother. I don’t know why, but watching your videos makes me feel closer to Dad and I know he would have been happy to see someone who feels as proud as we do about our heritage. Thank you so much for your videos and keep up the good work.
Oh my heart goes out to you!! I lost Pap in 2016 and I still miss him something fierce. I'm so glad that you all have promoted the culture of Appalachia. Knowing my videos make you feel closer to your Daddy just makes my day. I'll be thinking of you!!!
Losing your folks no matter your age is so painful and makes us feel like a child. I was close to my mom who died suddenly in 1995. I see her, dream of her, (I’ve been so lucky to have had visitation dreams!) and think of her every single day since July 8, 1995. My dad passed in 2013 but I couldn’t be close to him. But planning his funeral gave me that awful, familiar numb feeling and I did grieve his death.
@@Indigo00eyez I’m so sorry for your loss. It certainly does make you revert to a childlike state. Dad died so unexpectedly and so young, I think that only makes it harder to accept. It’s wild that you mention dreams. I have had so many dreams of him since he passed. My father and I are/were both musicians, and it was a HUGE part of our lives. I just started writing a new song yesterday about his passing and how he visits my dreams. It’s so cool to me that you brought that up.
@@duaneholcomb8408 I sure hate to hear about your parents, brother. I was so close to my Dad. Our relationship was father and son but also very much like brothers. I was born the day before his 20th birthday, so that may be part of it. The aching I feel is not comparable with any other pain I’ve felt in my life. I still live in Appalachia as well, and we have a lot of Yankees moving here as well. There’s a University in our little town and it has grown significantly in the last 10 years, adding a law school as well as a medical school. While I’m certainly happy it has grown, it has definitely changed the population here. I’ve lived all over the U.S. and there’s not another place I’d rather live, than right here in Appalachia.
......Your channel is one of the top reflections of the Appalachian culture and lifestyle and I have always been envious of the self reliance and strong family bonds in the forests and mountains. One of your commenters mentioned Tallapoosa Co, Alabama as being in the Southern end of the Appalachians. I have already mentioned in a comment how all my immediate family prior to my marriage was from Alabama but my folks moved me to Texas just days before my first birthday.....but I have many pleasant memories of summers and holidays with my many Alabama kin. So I looked up Tallapoosa Co. and find that most of the Northern half of the state is counted as Appalachia by the Appalachian Regional Commission . That includes me and my immediate family with the exception of my mother who was born just South of the region line but still very much in Alabama. So I can proudly say that I am native born Alabama as well as Appalachia..... Makes me happy..!!
I really enjoy your videos and can relate to your family alot. Great to know traditions are being carried on. My family moved from Murphy, Nc to georgia. Thanks your for wonderful videos about language and cooking ! reminds me of memories gone by. Bless you
Tipper, I love your videos. I also love the videos your girls make. I used to hate being from Appalachia. It seemed like people from other places in the US viewed us as simple minded and uneducated. As I’ve gotten older, I am so proud to be a product of this region. I’m from southwest Virginia. I wish I would have listened to lessons mom and dad, and my grandparents, taught me. Thank you for sharing the Appalachian customs. You’ve reminded me of so many things I’ve forgotten.
I just came across your channel, enjoyed it very much. I’m a native Georgian and my family cooked ( and I still do) the same way you do…..so much of what you say and do I can remember doing as a Child….so glad you have shared your life with us. I haven’t checked out the Blind Pig yet but will soon….Thanks again…..A Ga Fan
I love your story! Sounds very familiar as I grew up in the cotton country in La. the accent here is very similar to E North Carolina and Tennessee. Our family also had a penchant for storytelling like you. I stumbled on you site by way of your cornbread/corn story. We lived on cornbread growing up.so it was good to hear.. I will try to tune in more to hear your voice and listen to your life stories. Bless You
Love your accent 😀. God bless the South 😀 you have a beautiful family 😇. Your videos are amazing 😀. So glad I stumbled upon your videos. God bless all of you 😀
Oh what a Happy Day when I located you and your family. Have learned so much about Appalachia from your videos. Thank you for sharing. You make everything soooo very interesting and entertaining .
Hello tipper, I'm from montreal canadad,I stumbled across your videos, and haven't been able to stop watching them, lol i live in a busy city with lots of hustle and busle and lots of noise. But your videos, I find are very calming.and I love watching you cook, thank you for sharing, love listening to your storys.
Hey Girl, loving your channel. You are sure a blessing to your upbringing and life past and present. God Bless you and your family. I made your cornbread and potato soup it was deliciously a hit at my table.
Beautiful interview! Great questions Matt. I’m envious what a loving and lovely family you have. Now I understand too that you call your dad Pap-kinda new to your channel and at first I thought that was your grandad. Thank you for being such a passionate storyteller. ☺️
I've enjoyed your videos for a while, but this is one of my favorite. I love your passion for Appalachia and that you take the time to make videos to share our culture with the world.
Hi Tipper - I LOVE seeing this. I grew up in SE Kentucky (Knox County), so very much a hillbilly. I left home at 18 and have lived all over the southeast since then - now I live in Minnesota. I've held onto to some of my traditions from Kentucky, but have forgotten so much. You are brining me home! I can't thank you enough for that. I've been cooking more and more of the foods that I grew up eating (so, I LOVE watching your videos) - the food is so good and brings back good memories. I love hearing the heritage in your voice - I have lost a lot of my Appalachian language. It does make me sad that I've lost some of my heritage. I remember when I went to work for a college in Statesboro, GA, I would get made fun of for how I talked. I worked hard to fit in and changed how I talked - I wish I could change that! My hillbilly comes out from time to time, especially when I'm mad. HAHA Thank you for taking the time to remind us all of who we are and where we came from!
loved hearing about your family life, tipper. Also happy that now i know who "pap" belongs to as i've become so fond of his singing. Good to know you realize how blessed is your life.
Thank you, i really enjoyed the interview. I have no connection to appalachia, I live in Switzerland and just found your channel coincidentally. Now i am looking forward to learn more about you and appalachia :-)
Simsa-thank you for watching! So glad you enjoyed the video. I've never been out of the US but always wanted to see Switzerland the photos of your landscape are so pretty. I hope you continue to enjoy my channel 😀
Great Interview, Thanks Matt and Tipper, for sharing the richness of your life.Sometimes words just don't seem enough to express our feelings toward you precious folks, but I'll keep trying 🙂.
Lovely woman, beautiful part of the world. I understand her love of family and wanting to go back sometimes. I love this oral history. It’s so important. Reminds me of visiting my relatives in the countryside in Ireland when I was a kid. A lot of similarities. Best wishes from Waterford Ireland 🇮🇪
Hi Tipper. I just found your channel today, and have watched many of your videos. Thanks for sharing your life and your beautiful family, and for showing me another side to your slice of the country I had not seen before.
My husband and I watch your cooking channel all the time, we love it. We love Matt and his potatoes with ramps. We can't get ramps where we live but a little farther east TN they do. Much of our own recipes are a lot like yours. So we just love to watch. Blessings.
Somehow I fell into a rabbit trail to your page, and so glad that I did. I grew up in Yadkin County, NC and went to school at WCU. I love the stories, and keeping Southern Appalachian heritage alive. Keep up the good work.
Oh, and did I mention, you have a beautiful smile, so natural and happy. I sure am going to check out the, blind Pig and the acorn. God bless you and your family.
I just found your youtube channel and I took one of your quizzes. I connected with how you said you looked forward to clogging each week and how it helped your forget whatever you were going through. I feel the same way when I clog. I Cloggers are some if the nicest people you will ever meet and we are all one big happy family no matter where you're from. I started clogging at 13 and I am about to turn 57 still going strong! My first teacher was Joann Gibbs and some people call her the grandmother of clogging. I love to see kids clogging and knowing that that tradition and history is still alive for generations to come. I look forward to watching the rest of your videos.
Fantastic video! ❤️😊 Like so many others- I’m so happy I found this channel! Really enjoy the Pressley Girls channel too! You all bring such Blessings thru your videos, strong Family values and Spiritual messages. Thank you for sharing! 🙏😊❤️
I am so thankful that I found your channel and your daughter's channel too. I love the cooking instructions you give and show. You have a wonderful family. Growing up in Central Florida, in the 60s and 70s exposed me to many folks from up your way. Absolutely beautiful beautiful people. Many native Floridians lived the same way. Funny how values were the same for many of us. Many NY Italians settled in Florida in the 59s, 60s , and 70s. Always huge meals after church. We have our differences but I have dipped Cornbread into Homemade Spaghetti sauce more than once 😘 It's a blessing to see the faith and values y'all have. 🙏💕
It’s crazy to hear the difference between the Appalachian talk from West Virginia to far as North Carolina. I’m from a small town in eastern Kentucky and I used to haul logs for dad all over the Appalachians. I got to meet a lot of different ascents during that time. Hadn’t really realized until then the difference. But I really appreciate what you do. Keep it up.
I find from listening to you that the folks of Appalachian heritage seem to be very humble folks..I'm a "student" of American History but must admit I never spent much time learning of different cultures..I just discovered your channel when actually looking for food recipes..I want say "thank-you" for sharing you life & culture I enjoyed watching and learning..Have a blessed day!!
I so enjoyed the interview, the stories, hearing about your life and your strong family ties. Beautiful. I'm very familiar with your area even though I live in Georgia. Years ago I taught pottery at John C. Campbell. I don't know if they still do it, but there was some mighty fine music down at Clay's Corner on Friday nights.
Thanks for sharing , l love NC the trees are so beautiful in the fall! People are friendly and the air is great ! Like you I don’t watch tv, love the documentaries on UTUBE , Blogs and many more !
Tipper, thanks for another great video, you are so sincere. it shows how much you love your family and where you are from, you are the kind of people I love to be around down to earth folks. Sorry to hear about your Dad, I lost my Dad 45 years ago, and Mother in 2007.we will always miss our loved ones but it gets better better over time. Just trust in the Lord and he will make a way and I know you do ,God bless you and your family.
Miss Tipper, I'm brand new to ur channel....I listened to several of ur videos today while I cared for my friend who has Alzheimers...... I'm 75....she's 86.....if I live Long enough I'll be able to move home to Jacksonville Where my girls are. I have a little condo there, in which I've never lived. I'm planted in some littke raised beds Here in Pompano Beach, Fla.....and i won't have much more room when i get to my little condo....but I'll have a screened in porch,so Maybe I can do some container gardening. I'm trying to especially enjoy taking care of this lady in her own home, because I have idea how long she has She cannot communicate w others.....but I know what she needs....💝....your programs are such a sweet part of my day. We are alone, us two old birdies, All the time....so I dont hear cogent speech unless I listen to programs. Thank goodness i found your programs. I'm enjoying u so much, dear lady....🤗🥰 Yah's finest blessings on u and yours......🖐🏻👵🏻
Tipper - I am doing some re-watching - and this is one of my favorites - and I wanted to say I am so happy you decided to branch out to making another channel and began Celebrating Appalachia. 💕
Could listen to your wonderful stories all day! Have just today planted seeds - flowers and veg for my little london garden. A joy at this time of year and particularly for this year. Keep safe and warm regards from UK
Hi Tipper, Look what you’ve accomplished through thick and thin. You were at 130k subscribers couple of weeks ago and are 132k subscribers now. Your content is so diverse! I wish you and your family all the prosperity derived from this channel. if anyone deserves this, you do! Also know that I appreciate all the time you spend, producing and editing. I know how much time it takes to maintain this sort of thing. We’re going through a rough health patch, at the moment and this channel helps me be happy!😊🇨🇦
I wonder how the pronunciation of Wilson as "Wiltson" started. I live near Wilson, NC and almost all the people who live in this area and grew up here pronounce it as "Wiltson." I love hearing your stories!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for sharing your amazing life! I had the honor to spend lots of time in the southern mountain communities, as well as the mountain communities of the North! All along the trail! Yes... watching all your videos, thank you for taking the time to make them, brings back memories of amazing times. You would be surprised! The same mountain speak, languages, expressions, ways exist in all Mountain, rural communities. Not only that, growing up in a multi language home, and family, they use to call the mountain speak short hand speak! In cities of urban times it’s called slang short hand speak/speech. I do remember all these phrases growing up! They would use them in my house & families when the quick switches from one language to another. I can totally relate to all your recipes you share. Funny how when I visit my Sister & Brother in-law we spend time with their friends & I click right in! The same recipes you have shared have been apart of the Canton, NY dairy, beef, and farming community for centuries! I was looking thru their amazing wall floor to ceiling library, that in there massive study. That documents the history of the farm, and their lives since 1825. History, maps, land marks, diaries, recipe, and cookbooks, crop history books, and records. They even grew Soogum plants to make syrup from. They were already had a maple syrup house going. They were like let’s try it. That’s how they fatten up their cows. They take fresh cut soogum plants, and chop mix it into the corn ciledge! Then to get the cows to eat more Alfalfa they fix it in as well! What new adventures do y’all have planned for 2021?
Tipper, I so enjoyed your interview and the fact that Matt "aka" the deer hunter interviewed you and brought out questions to help to get to know who TIPPER Presley really is. The question when you talk about cell phones I think if I didn't have one then I would have never got the pleasure of getting to know some wonderful people who live in another state that I would have likely never known at all. So yes I am glad for the cell phones. The fact that sometimes you wished you could experience life with pap, granny, Steve and PAUL again the way when you were little and how close your family was I love that don't apologize for getting emotional. I feel the same way my family was always so close so I know exactly what you mean. Thanks for sharing your life stories with your readers. Deb
From a wonderful loving family it isnt hard to tell. Not many people will tear up when they talk about their parents and what they meant to you. This says it all,,,,in a wonderful way. Remember one day,you will get to see your parents again, along with your entire family. Mr Matt & You don't need to 'try and fit in' any place else. You all are in God's country right where you are. Why go anyplace else. BTW. I am working on the WayBak Machine out in the shed. When i get it going I'll loan to You and Mr Matt, to go back,to relive some of your fondest memories.
I too am addicted to your channel. I love your stories about Appalachia. I live in Eastern Tennessee, Mountain City Tennessee, and love being a"hillbilly".The older I get the more I want to do things the old fashioned way.I talk about you a lot to my husband, he always says "you'd like to meet her wouldn't you "I say yes I would".Love your whole family.
I live in the country, not the mountains, and I remember listening to my grandparents talk about “the mountains” and their life in the Appalachians. A few of my family members still live out there, but I dont see them much. Your channel has made me miss them so much. I live in NY, so a very different part of the Appalachians, but everything sounds so familiar and sounds so soothing. The accent isn’t the same, but the way you speak is. Thank you. So many people look down on Appalachians as uneducated and make fun of the way they speak... but they are some of the kindest, hardworking, fun people you have ever met! The fresh cut wood especially made my me smile. Such an unforgettable smell. Thank you for reminding me of them and thank you for spreading awareness of Appalachians. Send you my love.
So nice to find out so many new things about you and your family. Ive been watching you for a while now and love your channel. But now I truly feel like you are family to me. I live in eastern Virginia which is a much different place from you but for some reason I have fallen in love with Appalachia and the people and thier heritage and ways. I read just about everything I can find about the mountains. I am turning 70 in October and I just wish I could drive through lots of places there just to take in everyfthing I can but just wouldnt know where to begin on my own. Dont have any family or friends that have the love for the mountains like me. I have even discussed my desire to be buried there. My family doesnt understand that I should want that. But I do. I am born and raised in my small town and my family is here and I do love it here. But something has been drawing me to the hills and mountains. I just love all the stories and ways you share with everyone and I wait patiently for new videos from you. Thanks for doing what you do. 💖💕💖
Tipper my husband worked for an oil (industry) company back in the early 90s. He had a company car (a big Crown Victoria) and they supplied a "mobile phone". It was attached to a (what now seems a huge) box on the floorboard. We were just married, transferred to Michigan, and I was substitute-teaching. All the sixth graders would see us about town and look in that car to see that phone (this was '93-'94). Hard to believe I myself drove my little Toyota across this country alone, no phone, when I was our girls' age! I'm ironing and watching some of your older videos. I just love listening to any of you all talking about about anything. THANK YOU for your wonderful work. 🙌🏼
Thank you for sharing that memory 😀 When I ask the girls to text me when they get somewhere I often think of how I couldn't even call Granny sometimes to let her know 😀 So glad you enjoy our videos!!
New Subscriber From Southern West Virginia Born & Raised In The Hollers Of Wyoming County. Our Appalachian Raising & Heritage Is Slipping Away A Little Bit More With Every Generation. Thank You For What You're Doing,We Need More & More Just Like You. I'll Never Leave These MOUNTAINS Until My Times Through. Stay Safe Out There Y'all We'll Holler At Yun's 💯🇺🇲💪
Tipper...you took me down memory lane. I had forgotten some of the Appalachian words. I am from the mountains of West Virginia, was raised in a company house in the coal fields, up a holler. Listening to you brought back so many memories. Hey, we might be kin, lots of my kinfolks were Presley's. Thank you for giving a glimpse of our heritage and the Appalachian culture. Sadly, we from Appalachia have been thought of as less than bright...and that's not a light bulb. Ridicule has often poured upon us, but I know that we have a rich heritage of fine people who are not only intelligent but some of the most caring folk, one would ever want to meet.
I found your channel today it took me home. I left the hills when I went into the service and job kept me from moving back. currently living in the piedmont section of NC but I go home as often as I can to see family. your video's remind me of home. keep up the good work
Well let me chime in. I'm enjoying your channel more than I can tell you Tipper. I watch a lot of UA-cam videos myself since I retired. My wife still works as a teacher in Anderson SC where we live and we don't watch tv either.Course she's 8 years younger than me.Anyway you look and sound like you could be part of my family too. Thank you for that. It sure feels good.
I’m a mother of a 39 yr old daughter who has lived in Boulder, CO since age 18. I like when you said how you feel about gardening and seed starting. I often think about when I was expecting Sarah Josephine my girl born in 1984 at 10 months and over 12 pounds! Well, raising from seed is just like raising children.
Good to get to know more about y'all. Momma and Daddy Arkansas and Alabama born. Folks went north for factory work, thus I am Indiana born. You can't take the south out of someone and I feel as if I grew up in the South myself with parents from there. Have been enjoying your channel for a while and now the girls channel too. Love reading the blogs. Makes me feel less lonely and down in the mouth without my kin. All of them gone but my kids and granddaughter. Glad to be a part of what y'all got going here.
Thank y'all for all you share ...all of you do an amazing job ... we are simply grateful listeners, and learners ... here on the other side of the screen .... enjoy listening and learning from all other peoples stories, insights in their post and replies ... it does seem like family 🍁🧡🍁... that question , when did you get married , and did you marry well ? 💞 have a wonderful evening you two sweet -pa-toot -tees........ . 🙎🏼🙋🏼♂️SusieQ and Donnie Ray
I am so glad you started The Blind Pig and The Acorn as it led to You Tube and we found you! Matt did an excellent job on your interview! Years ago I interviewed all my mom's brothers and sisters. I had a blast doing it and wouldn't take a million dollars for the interviews. Thanks for sharing you this time around!!
I love your testimonial, because that is what it is. I live in Purlear NC in the foothills in Appalachia and i relate to your childhood and lifestyle. I just found you today, so glad.
Its 11-18-2024 and some how it was about 14 day pickles when i was looking up pickling jalapenos and came across your video. You have so much knowledge and seem to have such a big heart. Thank you for sharing with us all. You seem to be so sweet . I loved listening about your family.God bless yall.
hello...we really enjoyed listening to your story. Thank you for taking time to share part of your life and the history of all your good memories.. thank you also for giving us a safe place where we can gather our cherished memories and find solace in your channel. From me and my wife to you and your family.. we wish and pray nothing but health and safe journeys..
Good Evening, After watching where Y'all are going to plant Your new garden, I went back to a 3 Yr. Video where Matt was interviewing You, I've never seen it surprisingly thought I'd seen them ALL, anyway I enjoyed it alot and as always learned alot. Tell Miss Granny to take care 😘 of herself, My Prayer's Go Out For You All 🙏🙏🙏💛
This is such a great video. I’m so glad to know you better. We have a lot in common. It’s so great to grow up in the South (NC) and have this heritage. I thought maybe you were a linguist, teaching at a college, doing this on the side. I love hearing you! What a treasure to have the videos of your family! (Jane from SC ❤️🙏🏻)
So happy that plain old story telling is well and alive. Please do keep going and share it with the world.
So glad you enjoyed the video 😀
❤
Ma’am, thank you so much for sharing your heritage, stories, family moments with all of us.
My father was from Glen Alpine North Carolina.I am enjoying the stories and the words I remember hearing from my dad.
You're always my biggest encourager-and I'm thankful for you!
Matt seems to be a great person. The whole family seems to be high quality.
Hi Cindy, how are you
Tipper you were blessed to have been born into a loving family, to marry into a loving family and to create a loving family.

I found this channel today but this is May Day, 2021. I'm 76 myself and live alone.
I'm excited and pleased to have found this site.
Hi Diane, how are you doing
I don't know how i stumbled on your sight but so glad i did....i grew up on the opposite side of the state... rural eastern n.c, ..and life is or was basically the same ....farming, gardening, hunting, fishing etc...i had to laugh and cry thinking about sitting around with my Grand parents shelling peas, snapping green beans etc.. and oh i cursed it then....and oh how i would give anything to sit around and do it with them now....thank you
Such a humble and kind person. You are my teacher about Appalachia.
I also remember getting yelled at about slamming the screen door but now that I'm grown, I love the sound of the squeaky hinge springs and the thwack as it hits the jamb- it sounds like life going on at the house, and I slam the screen door at every opportunity.

Hello 👋, how are you
I had a Screen door put up at my Kitchen at my new House I bought 12 years ago, love that sound, brings me back to my Childhood…..a Ga Fan.
big thanks for sharing these insights, vignettes, and glimpses into your life and broader appalachia. some warm wisdom here. cheers, tipper, to you and your family.
Tipper, my husband and I whose roots are in Arkansas, started watching your recipes on UA-cam, and fell in love with your food and your stories. Thank you for your wonderful informormation. Your family histories remind us of our own.

Hello Trudy Barnes 😊 how are you?
Just starting watching your videos. They are wonderful. The cultural information is great. It sounds like you have a very fulfilling life. Thank you for sharing.

You have such a sweet and loving vibe about you. I just started watching your channel and I’m totally addicted. Also reading your blog. I love it all and wish more people lived the way you do. I wish I would’ve had the same type of childhood.

You are so kind! So glad you enjoy what we do 😀
I am so enjoying listening to you talk this afternoon, Tipper. We have transplanted here to Murphy, NC 16 years ago from Florida because I always had the dream of living here. I will continue watching, thank you for your time and life experiences. All the best to you all.
Sharon-thank you so much! Hope you continue to enjoy my videos 😀
Bless you
@@CelebratingAppalachia thanks ! Obviously good people
Tipper, I love your videos.
That makes my day Isaac! So glad you enjoy our videos!!
Hello how are you doing
I just came across your channel, enjoyed it very much. I’m a native Georgian and my family cooked ( and I still do) the same way you do…..so much of what you say and do I can remember doing as a Child….so glad you have shared your life with us. I haven’t checked out the Blind Pig yet but will soon….Thanks again…..A Ga Fan
Welcome and Thank you!!
Tipper, You are a very special Lady, God Bless you and your entire family. The things that you share are a Blessing to us all.
Thanks so much you are too kind 😀
I love your story! Sounds very familiar as I grew up in the cotton country in La. the accent here is very similar to E North Carolina and Tennessee. Our family also had a penchant for storytelling like you. I stumbled on you site by way of your cornbread/corn story. We lived on cornbread growing up.so it was good to hear.. I will try to tune in more to hear your voice and listen to your life stories. Bless You
Love your stories. So so interesting. Thanks for sharing your life!
I like you even more since listening to this interview. You’re a sweet, special lady and I love to listen to your stories. We talk alike. 👍🏼😊

Hey Girl, loving your channel. You are sure a blessing to your upbringing and life past and present. God Bless you and your family. I made your cornbread and potato soup it was deliciously a hit at my table.
Tim-so glad you enjoyed the cornbread and soup! Thank you for watching!!
Wow, thank you!
Hello Felicia Hill 😊 how are you?
So glad you enjoy our videos 😀
Hello how are you doing
Hello Tammie Hertz 😊 how are you?
Love this...also love the sounds of nature in the background..the crickets and the bubbling brook .....😊❤
loved hearing about your family life, tipper. Also happy that now i know who "pap" belongs to as i've become so fond of his singing. Good to know you realize how blessed is your life.
He was the best ever! Make me teary eyed just to type that-I miss him so but I'm so very thankful I had him!
Hi Sandy, how are you doing
Thank you Donald! We appreciate you more than you know!!
Hi, I have recently found your channel and am really enjoying it. Thanks so much for sharing your life.
Niamh-so good to hear from you. Thank you for the kind words and for watching 😀
Hello niamh, how are you doing
Hello how are you doing
Hi Tipper. I just found your channel today, and have watched many of your videos. Thanks for sharing your life and your beautiful family, and for showing me another side to your slice of the country I had not seen before.
Hello 👋🏻
My husband and I watch your cooking channel all the time, we love it. We love Matt and his potatoes with ramps. We can't get ramps where we live but a little farther east TN they do. Much of our own recipes are a lot like yours. So we just love to watch. Blessings.
Somehow I fell into a rabbit trail to your page, and so glad that I did. I grew up in Yadkin County, NC and went to school at WCU. I love the stories, and keeping Southern Appalachian heritage alive. Keep up the good work.
Tipper, I do have a question for ya...do you know what a sonker is? That is a term unique to Surry, Yadkin, Wilkes, & Stokes Counties.
Oh, and did I mention, you have a beautiful smile, so natural and happy. I sure am going to check out the, blind Pig and the acorn.
God bless you and your family.
@@stevenhenry4127 Yes I am having a great day, thank you for asking. Hope you are as well.

Welcome and thank you!
Just found your channel and I enjoyed your story so much. Thank you for sharing about the wonderful folks of Appalachia.
Welcome and thank you 😊
Fantastic video!
Thank you 😊
Bless your your heart. Thank for doing your channel.
❤🌿🌱🌳❤
Your story is a wonderful one.
Welcome and thank you 😀
I so enjoyed the interview, the stories, hearing about your life and your strong family ties. Beautiful. I'm very familiar with your area even though I live in Georgia. Years ago I taught pottery at John C. Campbell.
I don't know if they still do it, but there was some mighty fine music down at Clay's Corner on Friday nights.
Thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing , l love NC the trees are so beautiful in the fall! People are friendly and the air is great !

Yep, and the southern comes out in the first 30 seconds. Love the assessment of distance not by miles, but by minutes. I do the same thing.
😀 I've never thought about it but yes I judge distance by time or minutes!
Tipper - I am doing some re-watching - and this is one of my favorites - and I wanted to say I am so happy you decided to branch out to making another channel and began Celebrating Appalachia. 💕
Thank you so much 😊
So many words from your vocabulary test I heard from my in-laws whose families moved to Texas from Tennessee and Kentucky many generations ago.

Hello how are you doing
Hi Tipper, Look what you’ve accomplished through thick and thin. You were at 130k subscribers couple of weeks ago and are 132k subscribers now. Your content is so diverse! I wish you and your family all the prosperity derived from this channel. if anyone deserves this, you do! Also know that I appreciate all the time you spend, producing and editing. I know how much time it takes to maintain this sort of thing. We’re going through a rough health patch, at the moment and this channel helps me be happy!😊🇨🇦
Thank you Gary-I so appreciate your support 😀
I wonder how the pronunciation of Wilson as "Wiltson" started. I live near Wilson, NC and almost all the people who live in this area and grew up here pronounce it as "Wiltson." I love hearing your stories!
A very fascinating interview thank you for sharing your life. I am looking forward to viewing your other videos.
Tipper,
I so enjoyed your interview and the fact that Matt "aka" the deer hunter interviewed you and brought out questions to help to get to know who TIPPER Presley really is.
Deb
Debbie-thank you so much for watching and for your kind words!!
So enjoyed this video. tpoer you are a treasure. Catching up ❤❤
From a wonderful loving family it isnt hard to tell.

Absolutely loved hearing about where you live and your culture. I’m really enjoying your videos.

That makes my day 😀 So glad you enjoy our videos 😀
Y'all are just wonderful folks. Loved this video. I enjoyed learning more about you and your family. God Bless
Watching videos like yours makes it so much more personal. ❤
Thank you for sharing-so glad you enjoy our videos!
Hi 👋, how are you doing
