I'm always creating multi-body parts and creating assemblies from them; I find this to be a great technique and works well once you get used to it. Most of my parts are multiple plates that will be screwed together at the assembly level. This requires holes (thru holes and corresponding threaded holes) to be added to the multi-body part using hole wizard. The issue with this is, "Pattern Driven Component Pattern" does not work at assembly level because it does not recognize it as a Hole wizard feature. The only work-around I have found was to create small pilot holes in the multi-body part and then once you create the separate parts from it, create the holes with Hole wizard feature to each part just so you can use the "Pattern Driven Component" feature. When you insert a part (the multi-body part in this instance) it has a check box to bring in "Hole Wizard Features" but I have never had any luck with this working. Am I doing something wrong, is there a better way of doing this? I have searched many videos on Multi-body modeling and have never found one that addresses this issue.
