Someone needs to just release the entire game, nothing vaulted, no updates or add ons. Just us and our guns, the last remaining guardian, all offline... just to be able to be, and exist inside the destiny universe. All for a one time payment, no gimmicks, no grinding, no season passes. JUST, THE, GAME.
so apparently mark and luke left. they weren't laid off they negotiated their own severance packages and quit feeling like the damage is too great to come back from this time.
My girlfriend loved Destiny. Played a whole lot of it. She died back in March. I took up her name and finished everything she couldn't. It was supposed to be a duo experience. Her goofy Titan. My sassy pants Hunter. Yeah. I'm mad. Angry. Eventually, I'll lose another piece of her. Again. The servers will go down. Her name will fade to nothingness.

Looking at it realisticly, they won't let destiny die. Even if you split the still active 850-something workers in half just for destiny, it's probably going to feel the same for the game. Especially since most of the destiny job rolls that were lost are being filled by Sony departments. The game is hardly going to see any change of focus. If anything, it will see more focus again The problem here isn't the game, there's no steaks for a major expansion, there's still a massive group of people working on the game. The problem is the massive loss of jobs The human element is what is wrong here, the game will be fine
i wish this game didn’t go out like this. my whole childhood was Destiny. Started when i was 11 and now watching it die at 21. Tears me apart to see the world i escaped to every single day get crushed into pieces. I will never forget what this game has helped me through.

This really has been a huge jolt to the system. From Day 1 raids, to DLC's, and even Dungeons, Destiny was a beautiful, wild, crazy ride. Everyone I met in this community has been incredible. I don't know if the game survives this, but fellow guardians, it's been a fucking pleasure.

It starts out slow but MAN does it ramp up after Second Dream (my favorite quest to play by far - New War was good but the gameplay had me so dang frustrated cuz I suck at stealth missions). 20 Warframes collected, and I'm planning to get 'em all :3

It was I started in beyond light. And even went back and played d1 during season of witch. Honestly if it does end soon. I hope it get rebuilt up because I got tired of bungie.
The parallels you can draw between "The world was wide enough" and just the story of Hamilton in general to this game are incredible. And just how that particular portion of it made me get choked up and teary eyed, I'm sure this will do the same. From not throwing away my shot to stay alive, the lifecycle of this game/IP... wow. Your comment really made me think deep on this topic as a history buff, to someone who enjoys Hamilton, to someone who had so many fond memories of Destiny with the boys. 2 connections that I happily and frequently go back to after a brief time away from, knowing someday I won't be able to. But to live like Eliza in Stay Alive, knowing its fatal isn't the hopeful attitude to have. Because living without being alive is no way to live at all. Like I said dude, seeing your comment really got me thinking deep on some stuff. Kudos. Not many things can get me feeling at the lows- philosophical and at the highs nostalgic. You managed to somehow do both at once.

This hurts more than a lot of things in my life. After 9 years, I was able to finally convince my son to play Destiny with me and he loves it. To see them go out like this breaks my heart. With that said, I’m going to play until there’s nothing to play. Give until there’s nothing left to give. Why? Because we, as guardians get to choose our fate, not Bungie.
My father introduced me to the game and we play it all of the time. I've finally gotten to the point where I'm trying to do research on builds and god rolls and invest a lot of time in this game. With that being said, it's really dissapointing that the game is begging to crumble at the same time as I'm starting to love it. And It's sad to think about how the days that me and my father play destiny 2 for hours are limited. Because the only other game we play together is nhl which is another game being ruined by greed.
Same here. My son is getting good at and loves playing in the crucible. He's not ready for raids yet, but I hope he gets the chance to in the future. We felt like this a few months ago as well, so it's not over yet
One of my biggest gaming regrets is not playing enough titanfall, buying it on steam and finding a looted storefront of a game let me know that you can't go back sometimes...that past glories are past.
Yeah, I only had an opportunity to play it with a friend. I probably enjoyed about 60-80% of the campaign. I did play the start and the end but missed some of the middle. Peak game 🥲
Man, earlier in the year, I overheard a gas station clerk watching a Destiny video. I used to play a lot, so I asked him if it was a good time to get back in. He said it was the best time to get back into the game. Well, a few months later, here we are. Truly a sad time.

The really shitty thing about this is that whenever the servers do go dark, there will be nothing to go back to. I've been playing since D1, and I'll play for a few months, take a few months off, then come back. It's a long shot, but it would be nice if this game turned out like Final Fantasy XI. The game has a fan-made offline mode, where you can experience everything solo, or with summoned NPC companions. It's not quite the same as it was when it was booming, but it's nice to run through Rolanberry Fields, or Valkurm dunes, or just catch an airship to Bastok like I did when I was in high school 2 decades ago.
You may want to investigate "Stop Killing Games," it currently has an EU Petition to make these kinds of actions illegal. This'll force companies to create official offline-server tools, or provide the methods of hosting those to the community that ran them. Share it with as many of your European friends as imaginable.
FFXI is still active and run by Square. I have an account and you can get the whole game through steam. its complicated to get as you need to go through an ancient play system but FFXI isnt dead, at all.
I only started playing back in mid to late June and in that time I've fallen in love with solar titans, sank so many hours in strikes and gambit, get stomped in crucible, get frustrated by champs in lost sectors, met my clan and killed oryx, stopped house salvation and mastered stasis, thwarted savathun's plans, and watched and rewatched byf's 10 hour lore video. I love this game, and even after the servers go dark my titan will still be there, sunshot and fusion grenade in hand, ready to defend the traveler, the last city, and the light. Eyes Up Guardian.
@@the_afro_man874 I’ve not truly come back to the game since forsaken but throughout my entire destiny experience I’ve run the sunshot all the way. That gun has always been my favorite for some reason. Maybe, if they ever announce a full server shut down, I’ll come back for a last ride, blasting heads with that damn hand cannon.
I was there day one, beta and all....criticized the game, tried suggesting ways to improver,. got laughed out of the place....game got worse then better then new game, repeated old mistakes, more eh DLC's then Forsaken and shadowkeep then everything went to shit seasonal crap got boring, the battlepass was always a joke and became worse when they removed armor from it lol and now it's just a pit of greed...eww final fukkoff gotta play that...don't mind if i just take a pass eh? star trek online doesn't treat my time like this....DCUO doesn't treat my time like this.... I'd love to look back on the fun times and laugh but so much negative in my mind has passed that if I really meantion the big stuff I'll rant about it all day! point to take away is I started out loving Destiny and maybe i don't hate it the game I hate what bungie made it into over time....

The end comes for all games, only question is, is it gonna come on slowly or quickly. 10 years is a hell of a ride. I remember sitting in orbit in late 2014 with my friends back in high school and doing that first vault of glass run. Man, that was a special experience, one that hasn’t left me even after all these years. Destiny 2 didn’t grab me the same way part 1 did, but it was a very special game.
I saw the writing on the wall... I stopped playing 1 week into Act 2 of Echoes. I genuinely feel like this is the end of an era as well. This game gave me a best friend. Him and I finally met in person and I am forever grateful for that.
Echos just drags on and on and after the high of Final Shape it feels miserly and like it's throwing out crumbs. I got my Master clear of Salvation's Edge and I'll probably jump on to finish off the season's GMs and... that's it, I have no desire to chase anything else, or do the story. I've been playing MTG Arena and enjoying slinging cards again which I haven't touched in 5-6 years, and I might go back and try Warframe which I haven't done in 3-4 years, but really, in the end of it, I just don't feel the enjoyment from D2 anymore, it feels like a chore or homework with nothing rewarding at the end of it.

But after friends deleted the game due to them coming with homosexuality whereas some cultures prohibit it whether u like it or not!!! ----> i talked to my friend after ~1/4 of my friendlist told me they delete the game now for this sort of cultural disrespect enforcing politically biased sexuality on everyone!!! Well guys, at least Final Shape was one hell of an ending for the series. Many franchises aren't that lucky and end with an horrible state, like Saints Row with the recent reboot.
Mercury was my favorite. I loved the tight nature around it. just wish it had one extra public event. Smaller locations like Titan and Mercury were awesome.
I only got into Destiny a couple years ago, during the height of Witch Queen. I have since grown used to the grind, and to even enjoy it. It feels sad that the journey had to end this way, with all the amazing moments I had in this game.
@@04billups90 Given that a lot of the team had left or was laid off, that pretty much means bungie is done with destiny, or at least they're done with destiny as we know/knew it.
D1 / D2 veteran sort of here, Personally, I left around Forsaken. Cayde was my fav, so I genuinely lost a lot of enjoyment in the game with his departure. Originally, I just thought it was bad writing. Then, around the trailer for Final Shape, I saw him back, so I came back too prepare. In the short time since then, I’ve made some good memories, plenty of new friends, as well as just about completely caught up with that I had missed. Just being back for a short time, seeing the ever growing rapid downfall at bungie absolutely devastates me. The game truly is unlike any other experience, in my opinion. The community - for how large the game is - is just so genuine. Making new friends on the game is probably the easiest any game has ever provided, as well as although some dialogues never change, there’s rarely ever a repeating experience, and always the opportunity for genuinely good and fun memories with personal and online friends alike. The game truly still has so much potential, the story past Light v Dark has so much potential, especially when considering added lore. Hopefully some miracle happens and Bungie becomes capable of overcoming their illness of greed, and can continue this honestly - after catching up with it all - beautiful story with future titles. If this is truly is the end, this honestly can go down as one of the worst happenings in gaming history. I’ll be staying optimistic, however, as I feel the community is truly capable of forcing change at Bungie, so eyes up Guardians, we have work to do.

This game gave me more good times than anything else in my life. When nothing else was there for me, Destiny was. I'll love it forever. "So long, old friend"
Imo if destiny was going to be shut down they should bring all locations back for nostalgia or at least give everyone all exotics and access to special places (the lighthouse, galaxy pools, etc) to get the experience one last time...
@@Techhunter_Talon that makes sense but just to give all exotics to players for a week or sum so they can have fun with them before servers go offline cuz a lot of people either dont have or cant grind for raid exotics. Im basicaly saying they should do something to make the last week a memorable week.
I remember I started playing Destiny 2 once it was free to download, my friend got me to play it. completed red war while it was around and risk runner was my best friend for a while. I gathered enough money to buy Forsaken and Shadowkeep since the exotics were locked behind it. So many fun memories, I remember when my friend was telling me he would kill me with the thunder lord that shoot lightning and I didn’t know you needed heavy for it, getting obliterated by pre nerf lord of wolves, I was scared. Played through the beginning of high school to now freshman year of college on and off. It was always a love hate relationship with Destiny, I believe me and my friends grew strong with the game as we formed our clan KPS( krabby patty stealers). I want to thank Destiny for those good times and the bad as I never went flawless. Hey shoutout to Kackis for those guides! See you out there guardians.

my stepdad stood in line for hours at gamestop for the day one release copy. me and him played nonstop and it became our favorite game, i was only 6 when we got it, im now 17. we got every dlc, played so much together. my stepdad has cancerous tumors, he wont see doctors and i really dont know if he will make it or not. this game has so many memories attached to it, i remember him waking me up early so i could get on and check what xur was selling before i had to go to school. we did every raid together. Im sure theres others with similar storys, and for that we all share something in common, and thats what destiny provided us. There will never be another game like it.

I remember my first VoG Raid in D1. Took us 8 hours because we had no idea what we were doing. I remember laughing and being angry but I always had those friends to grind D1 with. Hours on strikes, farming the Loot Cave. I remember the first Exotic weapon I got from VoG was the Monte Carlo. I got the vex mytho a bit after. I’ll miss destiny and the memories and joy it gave me.

Destiny was my best friend during COVID. so much of my mental world, my identity even, is tied to Destiny. the news that Bungie is imploding due to greed is infuriating and incapacitating. no one’s coming to save us this time. it’s truly Joever. but like every Guardian that fought in Burning Lake, Six Fronts, Twilight Gap, the Red War, we’re fighting until the last of the Light goes out. until the last Titan, the last Hunter, the last Warlock. we’re going down with the ship. and when it’s all over in a few years… we’ll be grateful. because Guardians make their own fate. eyes up, Guardian.
I’ve been playing Destiny since I was 9 or 10, me and my older brother shared an account. Back then I didn’t do much other than mess around in patrols and play the campaign. When shadowkeep dropped I completed my first raid, garden of salvation, so we could get divinity. After I completed my first raid I wanted more, so I did the rest of them and got the “No Power in This Verse” emblem from moments of triumph 2020. Now I am almost 18 and me and my brother have separate accounts and play together. I’ve loved this game and made so many memories and friends. This game has literally been my childhood and I hate seeing the journey end this way.
I lost all ambition to play right before The Final Shape even launched, once it did release I saw all the praise the final DLC was getting and I thought that I'd jump back in eventually but then all of this happened. The game started to die and all of the controversies and whatnot, like what the hell... Bungie really dropped the ball and they should've went all in on this IP but the corporate guys above know better than us apparently and now we have this
If this corporate nonsense makes you angry, you HAVE to vote with your wallet. Stop playing Destiny, stop paying for it, and stop engaging with it. Nothing is ever going to change, especially at the corporate level, until the money stops flowing. People think they're practically killing their favorite devs at Bungie if they don't pre-order the deluxe edition of every expansion, but it's just not true. You've paid for all their nonsense so far, and your favorite devs are leaving or getting laid off anyway. It will never be enough. They'll keep laying people off until the magic red line starts going back up. Let Destiny 2 end with the Final Shape like it was supposed to. Scream into the void on social media. Maybe they'll learn something before it's over.
Unfortunately I believe the only thing they'll learn is that you can sucker people into buying content for 10 years so long as you attach a big name like Bungie to it and only need to make a halfway decent delivery on your promises at the very end of the "Story."
Funny you should say that. I stopped buying Season Passes before seeing the content AND pre-ordering games, BECAUSE of Destiny 2... With one of the worst launches AND expansions I've ever been a part of. I didn't even bother with the 2nd one, quitting partway into Curse of Osiris.

Sit down for a second, when the game released and was the biggest pile of shit ever made, when the expansions like rise of iron happened, these guys would stick through it for their daddy Bungie. 10 years... 10 LONG years. What a journey to become Legend. But alas all legends eventually fade away. I know the game will continue but this is where I believe (at least for me) where my story as a Guardian ends... Bittersweet...
Same here I'm waiting for the rest of this season to drop so I can finish all of that, since I spent money on that as well. I haven't been on destiny since I finished the campaign 😅
10 years, and I still haven’t gotten enough Cayde. 10 years, and I missed much of the entire story. 10 years and I’ve made friends along the long road. Unless Destiny does make a change, I think that Destiny will slowly but surly die away, I won’t stop playing it just because I have fun, but many will.
I’ve played Destiny continuously since Destiny one was released. I retired early in my life and it was fun and relaxing. I got hooked. Though I’m much older than the average player, I’ve always been able to figure things out and get through most regular content solo. This new release (act 3). has left me frustrated. I can’t get through it solo. I can’t even figure out how the puzzles work. For the first time I’m ready to give it up. So sad to think of it coming to an end for me. At 67 can’t imagine finding another game that will bring me as much enjoyment as Destiny has. 😢
I am 16. I am a day 1 Destiny 2 player, and I have played with my dad since D1 in 2015. This game has more hours on it than my whole library combined, and I am so angry to see how this journey was thrown off course because of greed. I wanted Destiny to last forever, I wanted to game with my dad till he can't game anymore. But it seems life has other plans, so the last time to play with my dad will come soon. But I will damn sure bleed it dry. Thank you, TDT.
It sucks, but having played since the release of halo 1 and seeing the amazing games bungie could make, it hits so hard to play destiny and feel just how bad they are.
At least destiny survived long enough to finally end the light and dark saga. Truly... a tragic end but at least it went out with a bang. Never thought it would end like this though... Pete Parson is truly the epitome of a monster. Ill still play Destiny 2 (I played Destiny 1 and its beta and D2 and its beta so I won't be abandoning this franchise) but it won't be frequent... this game still has a place in my heart. But... for now this might be a goodbye to this franchises future as a whole... So long Destiny!
In the end even tho destiny's darkness was defeated ours killed the game something the Guardians. The vanguard. Not even the traveler could prevent. The realistic darkness of greed outside the very fantasy world they are in
@@horrorpleb249 did it really end it tho? I mean we killed the Witness, but all that did was show us he was basically just a weapon for the Winnower, the real darkness.
It did get a finale though. If they had said Destiny was over after the expansion release in June, it probably would've been a bit poetic. But this is just sad.

Recently, I just had a really deep talk with a friend on destiny late at night. He was really inspired that my character (Warlock) had personal lore since Destiny 1. I decided why not right? We both deleted a character, and made new ones, I'm teaching him how to dig into Destiny's lore and write for your own character. These might be our last characters, but I think it'll be nice since we'll have a story. It's sad to see it go, thank you everyone.
I remember getting Destiny the day it came out. I’ve been an Iron Lord ever since. A Titan, a Sunbreaker, a guardian. Before that I was a spartan on Reach, I watched that game die, and now I have to do the same with Destiny. I’m sorry, but I’m hanging up my axe now.
This game saw me through the miscarriage with my ex helped me find some hope and happiness through all of that, meet people I truly do call my best friends now and to only be able to recall memories is hard to accept but bungie has left us all behind for the shiny payday that never really did pay the bills
I met some of my best friends on destiny. During a time when I was curling into my shell like some pitiful invertebrate I hoped on destiny and decided I wanted to do a vog run, but I had no real friends so I found a lfg discord server and asked to join a run. Nearly two years later i have some friends that mean the world to me. I love destiny 2 and will keep playing it for as long as I can, but it saddens me to see a game that I love so much rot from the inside out. Eyes up guardian

The amount of time we heard "this is the end of destiny" in the last year is crazy. And everytime it's getting worse. This game was fun, I played it a lot since day 1. But in the last 2 or 3 years, I've had to take breaks from the game, and every season I played less then the one before. I had a great time, I found many awesome youtubers due to this game. You are one of them, and I don't plan on letting you down. I found the channel because of destiny, but I stayed because of the people.
This isn’t the end. But, the future is definitely uncertain. More than it ever has before. Hope Bungie can salvage like they have so many times before. I have faith, but a lot of fear.
It’s the way of the universe it seems. Only the biggest and brightest stars go out in a supernova. Most slowly puff out layer after layer of material until only a ball of carbon is left. I think the biggest shame is Destiny as an IP had the potential to be something so much better than it was.
@@TheSket The weird thing about it is that Destiny is *still* the gold standard of AAA live service. It's the reason it's the only Destiny-killer. It's the brightest star but still seems to have no last hurrah coming, no fanfare. Just a painful, gradual decay.
You got The Final Shape, wtf. Everything else is finished. Any story you get from here on out would be like reading the LotR annexes. Just additional lore and world building, but grand events in this universe were done the moment you cooked The Witness.
I’ve dedicated 2000 hours of my life to this game. Most of which being spent on warlock. I’ve been playing since I was younger , so this game has left a legitimate impact on me. It saddens me to see my childhood die. I guess all good things really do come to an end

The prompt to do dps to Atheon in the Vault of Glass raid after killing Oracles seems fitting: "Guardians make their own fate." Nostalgic, and it ties the great memories over these 10 years since I played the beta to a bit more than those memories. Helped me through very rough times...
I mean hey. I guess we figured out what The Final Shape actually was, and the way D2 is ending feels like the story was writing itself. We (Bungie fans, devs, directors) just couldn't defeat The Witness (Parsons & Co.) to expel them from the Traveler (Bungie) so we got the bad ending. Just remember, Eyes up, Guardians.

I played this game from the Xbox 360 beta of Destiny 1 where my prized position was a green shotgun that felt nice to use all the way till Salvation's Edge where I got the raid exotic first clear and used right away in Excision. This hurts.
I stopped watching you for funny and exciting d2 content and started watching you for great and intriguing gamedesign ideas. Your thoughts on subclasses and gamemodes are so well thought out, I'm always fascinated! You have the ability to understand core mechanics, analyze the flaws, and find many solutions to them. This is remarkable! Not many can do it so well, if they can do it at all. I'll be here no matter what. I'm saying this and will choke on my words in the future, perhaps. In the meantime, I don't see why I wouldn't. The game you build your content around is exchangeable. Your content isn't.
My drive to play the game is gone after all the news these week. It was 90% gone even before The Final Shape, now it is 110% gone. No point in investing time in a black hole and so that someone can get more classic cars.

@@wezzy9437 I have not even completed the Micah 10 quests, because I don't see a point to get another piece of useless armor, or another weapon like the 10 other I have in my vault from 3 years ago. We get another arc pulse - "amazing" - I will put it next to the other 4 arc pulses I have as god rolls. The loot chase gets boring when you experience what the game has to offer. Only doing replayables or only doing story is not enough. You are failed a psychologist.
The feeling all of this situation is giving me, is the same since of fear, dread and anxiety as watching a long term friendship and/or romance fall apart slowly. This universe has been apart of my life since I graduated high school and has caused me to build some of the best/closest friendships I have. So it's just heartbreaking. I don't know what the future holds, but all I know is the Traveler's light can't save us here... Stay strong Guardians!

It’s most def corporate greed, there’s 1000’s of thriving capitalism driven companies that are doing good and take care of their employees. Well I would say that and the horrible shit economy that has been gifted upon us by Washington and the dirtbag politicians in charge.
I have no words, or expressions or anything I can pass along to cheer the mood for anyone that reads this. I started Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 basically as a lone player, but along the years I met friends, and it evolved out of Destiny, some I met in real life, some I knew in real life and got them into playing the game. As the months and years went on, we moved out of Destiny and started playing other games; such as the Battlefields, going back to Titanfall, Star Wars Battlefront, The Forest, Risk of Rain, World of Warships, Rainbow Six Siege, Halo, Ghost Recon etc, etc. What I'm getting at, is that all of us knew one day, somewhere, sometime in the years since we started our journey as Guardians, all the way back in Destiny 1, that the series would one day end. No more content, no more grinds and possibly one day, severs taken offline permanently. So this group of people that I now chat with everyday, who are some of my closest friends, decided to expand out early from Destiny. Because we knew, all of us here knew, it would end but also because life changes and we have to just keep moving forward and roll with it. I have moved 7 times since the tail ends of Curse of Osiris, across different states, and I have also moved from job to job just as much. During this time I lost some of those friends, I won't sugar coat it, they're dead now. I'm sure each and every single one of us who played Destiny and stuck with it have similar stories to mine, but what I'm getting at is, life is constantly moving forward, there is no constant, no gurantee of anything besides that everything will continue to change. Destiny 2 and the whole Destiny franchise is looking bleak and probably coming to an end here soon, as does everything that exists beneath the sun. It was going to end the moment it released, sure there are better ways than others for an end, but that's not what is important. What's important is the journey we have had in Destiny as a game, the journeys we all went through in our lives during its time. But most importantly its the people who we met and who became our friends and our real life fireteams and who we made those memories with. And who we'll continue going forward with when Destiny dies.
Seeing my cousin play crucible back in the Taken King sparked my interest. That Christmas, I was like 12 or 13. I picked it up and played it for so long. It was my second home, where I met many of the people I call "the boys", now. Then when 2 came into beta and I saw dawnblade for the first time, I was in on warlock. When school was shitty or my home life was rocky, I grew up here. I'm 20 now, as of the 12th of july. It's actually crazy to think about the time I spent, but I can't say I regret a second of it.
You know, it would be really funny if someone had an old copy of the game on a hard drive somewhere, and a D2 private server cropped up, with all the old locations and proper file compression.
The problem with good sales is that it's not always enough. There are expectations to meet and if sales are below forcasts - well, that's a good enough reason for a company to panic..regardless if they made a healthy profit or not.
I quit destiny 2 around a year ago (mid lightfall) because i lost intrest in this boring cycle that you mentioned. However when i played for about 2 hours during early Final Shape and the magic that this game once had was gone. Ive shared my some of my best gaming memories with this game and I feel sad and scared if ill ever find a game like it again. Much love guys, my heart goes out for you, all of you. Dont stop trying guardians.
If it helps, I thought no game would ever be as fun as Fortnite when the main squad drifted apart, but then I found Destiny 2, which was as fun, even though I was solo. For all its problems, this is/was a sick ass game, and I'm sure it's not the last
D1 vet here. I started as a humble hunter main. Ah, first light on the moon. sniper in hand and chaos everywhere... It wasn't till the 1st iron banner match on my brother's account that got me into Titan. Fist of havok and helm of inner most light, my god, was it fun, but i had more time back then. Now i get on for raids and major expansions because it was... is almost always a fun experience. Made a lot of friends on desinty. Not all of them lasted, but those memories were some of the most fun i had playing games... whatever comes next, im satisfied with the time i spent playing the game. Hopefully, there will be more, but if not, it was a one of a kind experience... Stay safe, guardians. Let's hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
That's what you addicts failed to understand. They not only had mtx but a 50 dollar expansions every year PLUS the seasons. They were always making good money, the problem was the money wasn't going back into the game or to the devs. It was going to the CEO and other executives. Instead of holding them accountable people just blindly spent money claiming "but the devs have to make money somehow" not even knowing if the devs were getting any of that money.

this situation is like finding out a relative or a close friend was diagnosed with a terminal condition that only leaves them such limited time on this planet. I hope the future will be only prosper and this is just a roadblock like usually but this just being hopeful. I just dont want something as unique as destiny to go so soon because this game genuinely means so much to me and its an experience i will never be able to have in other games.
I can 100% understand the anger, with what happened the last layoff season I can understand the dark view of the future but we dont know exactly what will come to pass yet, I personally have hope things can turn around, at least a few steps in the right direction, ITL and TFS were signs the devs were listening to player feedback, at least a little. Whilst I don’t disagree, the stories about what content is to come in the future just aren’t likely to keep the game alive anymore. There’s no sequel, there’s no big expansions anymore, no big reason to bring people in anymore. Marathon is essentially going to be the only thing Bungie can focus on to bring in a massive revenue stream with how many people have left Destiny. Even that is currently not looking good either, so it’s very likely this is the end… it’s been a fun run but yeah…
The Undertale music in the background is pulling on my heart strings, I mean I’m just 16 but this game has been a part of my childhood, so I’m extremely happy to have been a part of it all, I just hope some Bungie employees have a greater plan but my trust has been severed for a while now, but there is this one tethered chaining me to this I cannot leave not yet.
Started playing very late (Witch Queen or thereabouts) and wasn't able to keep up with it for very long but I've yet to play something quite like it since then, it had a very distinct vibe in the world and player base. What really got me hooked for a while was my ghost, embarrassingly enough - I was going through an irl rough patch and was just messing around in the game, ended up in some field challenge. As the fight was starting up a group of randos popped up behind me, my ghost gave me a little "you can do this!" pep talk and I thought "hell yeah we can I'd f*ckin die for you little dude"; became unreasonably attached to it ever since. I'm not like a day one super fan but I can recognize that we'd be losing something special if/when it does go the way of the dodo.
I’ve been around since TTK. I had just dropped out of college and was in a very deep depression that at the time felt inescapable. Living with my mom at the time, my younger brother had Destiny 1 on his Xbox. I watched him play for a little while and then he let me try for a little bit. I was hooked instantly. It gave me something to focus on that wasn’t despair and feelings of failure. Had I not had such a distraction, I may have, in a manner of speaking, taken a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Destiny may have quite literally saved my life. Defeating the Witness at the end of Excision felt bittersweet, but mostly sweet. My mind had the “well, what now?” feeling, but I was nevertheless excited to see what new directions Bungie could take the story in. After all, our battles with the Witness were not the only part of the story or the lore. There was so much more in this universe we could explore. And (without spoiling anything for those who haven’t played it yet) the Echoes act 2 finale made me excited for this potential new story arc. Hearing about these layoffs and how greedy Pete Parsons has shown himself to be has absolutely taken the wind out of my sails. I don’t even want to look at the game in my Steam library.
I haven't been able to finish the video. Because you've done such a good job explaining and harnessing the feeling in the pit of my stomach that I feel the knot twisting with each word you gave. I haven't been truly active on Destiny in some time. I used to be a clan leader. I used to have a clan of at least 12 people, all who regularly played and had so much fun with the game. But as time went on, we just, stopped. I've dreaded this for a long time too. Hated the very idea. I grew up playing Halo, and while I jumped into destiny a bit late, back in Taken King, I was still here since then. Playing the game made by the people who built my ideals of gaming. And to see it go down, like this especially. It hurts. This game gave me some of the best friends, my partner, and gave me stories that made me think about the world differently. Anyway, with the video finished now, I've said all this, to tell you that this video is amazing, you've done a wonderful job and it really resonated with me. I'll still be here, after Destiny, keeping an eye on your channel, me and my partner. And I'm sure we'll rewatch some of spicy clips to reflect on the good old days. Remember what was. This game gave us great years, and I had hoped there were many more to come. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. We end as we began. All things fade, and so too shall this, both Destiny, and the pain of its loss. Thank you TDT, for this video and all others you've made. Ultimately, We are in controll of this game and we have the power to steer this game back onto the path of redemption, and that is with out wallets, stop paying for content untill changes happen and this game comes back from the grave, before it decides to get in. You still have to play the game to show that we want change, but force them to change due to a lack of funds that they wont want to loose, not because the game is failing.
I started playing Destiny when forsaken dropped and I loved every second of it so I decided to play it for 5 years and then to hear this... this is so hard to take in after spending hundreds of hours with friends, randoms, ghost and my beloved hunter. I'll still play Destiny untill the game dies but it's just going to hurt playing it. So when this game does eventually die, I'm going to be very sad to see it go.
I finally got into destiny properly with the release of final shape, after trying to get into the game many times over the years. I was so happy to have finally found my footing, and joined this amazing community. It seems maybe I was too late. I'll stay until the end though, see it through now I'm finally here. Looking at it realisticly, they won't let destiny die.
Even if you split the still active 850-something workers in half just for destiny, it's probably going to feel the same for the game.
Especially since most of the destiny job rolls that were lost are being filled by Sony departments. The game is hardly going to see any change of focus. If anything, it will see more focus again

This really has been a huge jolt to the system. From Day 1 raids, to DLC's, and even Dungeons, Destiny was a beautiful, wild, crazy ride. Everyone I met in this community has been incredible.

And just how that particular portion of it made me get choked up and teary eyed, I'm sure this will do the same. From not throwing away my shot to stay alive, the lifecycle of this game/IP... wow.
Your comment really made me think deep on this topic as a history buff, to someone who enjoys Hamilton, to someone who had so many fond memories of Destiny with the boys. 2 connections that I happily and frequently go back to after a brief time away from, knowing someday I won't be able to. But to live like Eliza in Stay Alive, knowing its fatal isn't the hopeful attitude to have. Because living without being alive is no way to live at all.

This hurts more than a lot of things in my life. After 9 years, I was able to finally convince my son to play Destiny with me and he loves it. To see them go out like this breaks my heart.
With that said, I’m going to play until there’s nothing to play. Give until there’s nothing left to give. Why?

My father introduced me to the game and we play it all of the time. I've finally gotten to the point where I'm trying to do research on builds and god rolls and invest a lot of time in this game.
With that being said, it's really dissapointing that the game is begging to crumble at the same time as I'm starting to love it. And It's sad to think about how the days that me and my father play destiny 2 for hours are limited. Because the only other game we play together is nhl which is another game being ruined by greed.
Same here. My son is getting good at and loves playing in the crucible. He's not ready for raids yet, but I hope he gets the chance to in the future. We felt like this a few months ago as well, so it's not over yet

One of my biggest gaming regrets is not playing enough titanfall, buying it on steam and finding a looted storefront of a game let me know that you can't go back sometimes...that past glories are past.

Yeah, I only had an opportunity to play it with a friend. I probably enjoyed about 60-80% of the campaign. I did play the start and the end but missed some of the middle. Peak game 🥲

Man, earlier in the year, I overheard a gas station clerk watching a Destiny video. I used to play a lot, so I asked him if it was a good time to get back in. He said it was the best time to get back into the game. Well, a few months later, here we are. Truly a sad time.

The really shitty thing about this is that whenever the servers do go dark, there will be nothing to go back to. I've been playing since D1, and I'll play for a few months, take a few months off, then come back.
It's a long shot, but it would be nice if this game turned out like Final Fantasy XI. The game has a fan-made offline mode, where you can experience everything solo, or with summoned NPC companions. It's not quite the same as it was when it was booming, but it's nice to run through Rolanberry Fields, or Valkurm dunes, or just catch an airship to Bastok like I did when I was in high school 2 decades ago.
Where can I find this FF11 offline mode thing? I'm playing through all of the FF games and would like to give it a shot.
You may want to investigate "Stop Killing Games," it currently has an EU Petition to make these kinds of actions illegal.
This'll force companies to create official offline-server tools, or provide the methods of hosting those to the community that ran them.
Share it with as many of your European friends as imaginable.

FFXI is still active and run by Square. I have an account and you can get the whole game through steam. its complicated to get as you need to go through an ancient play system but FFXI isnt dead, at all.

I only started playing back in mid to late June and in that time I've fallen in love with solar titans, sank so many hours in strikes and gambit, get stomped in crucible, get frustrated by champs in lost sectors, met my clan and killed oryx, stopped house salvation and mastered stasis, thwarted savathun's plans, and watched and rewatched byf's 10 hour lore video. @@the_afro_man874 I’ve not truly come back to the game since forsaken but throughout my entire destiny experience I’ve run the sunshot all the way. That gun has always been my favorite for some reason. Maybe, if they ever announce a full server shut down, I’ll come back for a last ride, blasting heads with that damn hand cannon.

I was there day one, beta and all....criticized the game, tried suggesting ways to improver,. got laughed out of the place....game got worse then better then new game, repeated old mistakes, more eh DLC's then Forsaken and shadowkeep then everything went to shit

The end comes for all games, only question is, is it gonna come on slowly or quickly. 10 years is a hell of a ride. I remember sitting in orbit in late 2014 with my friends back in high school and doing that first vault of glass run. Man, that was a special experience, one that hasn’t left me even after all these years. Destiny 2 didn’t grab me the same way part 1 did, but it was a very special game.
I saw the writing on the wall... I stopped playing 1 week into Act 2 of Echoes. I genuinely feel like this is the end of an era as well. This game gave me a best friend. Him and I finally met in person and I am forever grateful for that.
Echos just drags on and on and after the high of Final Shape it feels miserly and like it's throwing out crumbs. I got my Master clear of Salvation's Edge and I'll probably jump on to finish off the season's GMs and... that's it, I have no desire to chase anything else, or do the story.
I've been playing MTG Arena and enjoying slinging cards again which I haven't touched in 5-6 years, and I might go back and try Warframe which I haven't done in 3-4 years, but really, in the end of it, I just don't feel the enjoyment from D2 anymore, it feels like a chore or homework with nothing rewarding at the end of it.

I only got into Destiny a couple years ago, during the height of Witch Queen. I have since grown used to the grind, and to even enjoy it. It feels sad that the journey had to end this way, with all the amazing moments I had in this game.

I've been playing since the red war and I've had every campaign - newer dungeons.
D1 / D2 veteran sort of here, Personally, I left around Forsaken. Cayde was my fav, so I genuinely lost a lot of enjoyment in the game with his departure. Originally, I just thought it was bad writing. Then, around the trailer for Final Shape, I saw him back, so I came back too prepare. In the short time since then, I’ve made some good memories, plenty of new friends, as well as just about completely caught up with that I had missed. Just being back for a short time, seeing the ever growing rapid downfall at bungie absolutely devastates me. The game truly is unlike any other experience, in my opinion. The community - for how large the game is - is just so genuine. Making new friends on the game is probably the easiest any game has ever provided, as well as although some dialogues never change, there’s rarely ever a repeating experience, and always the opportunity for genuinely good and fun memories with personal and online friends alike. The game truly still has so much potential, the story past Light v Dark has so much potential, especially when considering added lore. Hopefully some miracle happens and Bungie becomes capable of overcoming their illness of greed, and can continue this honestly - after catching up with it all - beautiful story with future titles. If this is truly is the end, this honestly can go down as one of the worst happenings in gaming history. I’ll be staying optimistic, however, as I feel the community is truly capable of forcing change at Bungie, so eyes up Guardians, we have work to do.

I remember I started playing Destiny 2 once it was free to download, my friend got me to play it. completed red war while it was around and risk runner was my best friend for a while. I gathered enough money to buy Forsaken and Shadowkeep since the exotics were locked behind it. So many fun memories, I remember when my friend was telling me he would kill me with the thunder lord that shoot lightning and I didn’t know you needed heavy for it, getting obliterated by pre nerf lord of wolves, I was scared. Played through the beginning of high school to now freshman year of college on and off. It was always a love hate relationship with Destiny, I believe me and my friends grew strong with the game as we formed our clan KPS( krabby patty stealers). I want to thank Destiny for those good times and the bad as I never went flawless. Hey shoutout to Kackis for those guides! See you out there guardians.

my stepdad stood in line for hours at gamestop for the day one release copy. me and him played nonstop and it became our favorite game, i was only 6 when we got it, im now 17. we got every dlc, played so much together. my stepdad has cancerous tumors, he wont see doctors and i really dont know if he will make it or not. this game has so many memories attached to it, i remember him waking me up early so i could get on and check what xur was selling before i had to go to school. we did every raid together. Im sure theres others with similar storys, and for that we all share something in common, and thats what destiny provided us. There will never be another game like it.

I remember my first VoG Raid in D1. Took us 8 hours because we had no idea what we were doing. I remember laughing and being angry but I always had those friends to grind D1 with. Hours on strikes, farming the Loot Cave. I remember the first Exotic weapon I got from VoG was the Monte Carlo. I got the vex mytho a bit after. I’ll miss destiny and the memories and joy it gave me.

I’ve been playing Destiny since I was 9 or 10, me and my older brother shared an account. Back then I didn’t do much other than mess around in patrols and play the campaign. When shadowkeep dropped I completed my first raid, garden of salvation, so we could get divinity. After I completed my first raid I wanted more, so I did the rest of them and got the “No Power in This Verse” emblem from moments of triumph 2020. Now I am almost 18 and me and my brother have separate accounts and play together. I’ve loved this game and made so many memories and friends. This game has literally been my childhood and I hate seeing the journey end this way.
I lost all ambition to play right before The Final Shape even launched, once it did release I saw all the praise the final DLC was getting and I thought that I'd jump back in eventually but then all of this happened. The game started to die and all of the controversies and whatnot, like what the hell...
Bungie really dropped the ball and they should've went all in on this IP but the corporate guys above know better than us apparently and now we have this

If this corporate nonsense makes you angry, you HAVE to vote with your wallet. Stop playing Destiny, stop paying for it, and stop engaging with it. Nothing is ever going to change, especially at the corporate level, until the money stops flowing. People think they're practically killing their favorite devs at Bungie if they don't pre-order the deluxe edition of every expansion, but it's just not true. You've paid for all their nonsense so far, and your favorite devs are leaving or getting laid off anyway. It will never be enough. They'll keep laying people off until the magic red line starts going back up.

I’ve played Destiny continuously since Destiny one was released. I retired early in my life and it was fun and relaxing. I got hooked. Though I’m much older than the average player, I’ve always been able to figure things out and get through most regular content solo. This new release (act 3). has left me frustrated. I can’t get through it solo. I can’t even figure out how the puzzles work. For the first time I’m ready to give it up. So sad to think of it coming to an end for me. At 67 can’t imagine finding another game that will bring me as much enjoyment as Destiny has. 😢
I am 16. I am a day 1 Destiny 2 player, and I have played with my dad since D1 in 2015. This game has more hours on it than my whole library combined, and I am so angry to see how this journey was thrown off course because of greed. I wanted Destiny to last forever, I wanted to game with my dad till he can't game anymore. But it seems life has other plans, so the last time to play with my dad will come soon. Recently, I just had a really deep talk with a friend on destiny late at night. He was really inspired that my character (Warlock) had personal lore since Destiny 1. I decided why not right? We both deleted a character, and made new ones, I'm teaching him how to dig into Destiny's lore and write for your own character. These might be our last characters, but I think it'll be nice since we'll have a story. It's sad to see it go, thank you everyone.
I remember getting Destiny the day it came out. I’ve been an Iron Lord ever since. A Titan, a Sunbreaker, a guardian. Before that I was a spartan on Reach, I watched that game die, and now I have to do the same with Destiny. I’m sorry, but I’m hanging up my axe now.

I met some of my best friends on destiny. During a time when I was curling into my shell like some pitiful invertebrate I hoped on destiny and decided I wanted to do a vog run, but I had no real friends so I found a lfg discord server and asked to join a run. Nearly two years later i have some friends that mean the world to me.
I love destiny 2 and will keep playing it for as long as I can, but it saddens me to see a game that I love so much rot from the inside out.

The amount of time we heard "this is the end of destiny" in the last year is crazy. And everytime it's getting worse. This game was fun, I played it a lot since day 1. But in the last 2 or 3 years, I've had to take breaks from the game, and every season I played less then the one before. I had a great time, I found many awesome youtubers due to this game. You are one of them, and I don't plan on letting you down. I found the channel because of destiny, but I stayed because of the people.

I think we all knew that Destiny was going to fade out with years of seasons instead of a final, conclusive expansion.
It’s the way of the universe it seems. Only the biggest and brightest stars go out in a supernova. Most slowly puff out layer after layer of material until only a ball of carbon is left. I think the biggest shame is Destiny as an IP had the potential to be something so much better than it was.
@@TheSket The weird thing about it is that Destiny is *still* the gold standard of AAA live service. It's the reason it's the only Destiny-killer. It's the brightest star but still seems to have no last hurrah coming, no fanfare. Just a painful, gradual decay.

I played this game from the Xbox 360 beta of Destiny 1 where my prized position was a green shotgun that felt nice to use all the way till Salvation's Edge where I got the raid exotic first clear and used right away in Excision.

I stopped watching you for funny and exciting d2 content and started watching you for great and intriguing gamedesign ideas. Your thoughts on subclasses and gamemodes are so well thought out, I'm always fascinated! You have the ability to understand core mechanics, analyze the flaws, and find many solutions to them. This is remarkable! Not many can do it so well, if they can do it at all.
I'll be here no matter what. I'm saying this and will choke on my words in the future, perhaps. In the meantime, I don't see why I wouldn't. The game you build your content around is exchangeable. Your content isn't.
My drive to play the game is gone after all the news these week. It was 90% gone even before The Final Shape, now it is 110% gone. No point in investing time in a black hole and so that someone can get more classic cars.

@@wezzy9437 I have not even completed the Micah 10 quests, because I don't see a point to get another piece of useless armor, or another weapon like the 10 other I have in my vault from 3 years ago. We get another arc pulse - "amazing" - I will put it next to the other 4 arc pulses I have as god rolls.
The loot chase gets boring when you experience what the game has to offer. Only doing replayables or only doing story is not enough.

The feeling all of this situation is giving me, is the same since of fear, dread and anxiety as watching a long term friendship and/or romance fall apart slowly. This universe has been apart of my life since I graduated high school and has caused me to build some of the best/closest friendships I have. So it's just heartbreaking. I don't know what the future holds, but all I know is the Traveler's light can't save us here... Stay strong Guardians!

I’m glad you specified that it is corporate greed, cause I’ve seen a lot of people just chalk it up to just capitalism as a whole, cause capitalism is just a body and corporatism/corporate greed is a parasite that attaches itself to capitalism.
It’s most def corporate greed, there’s 1000’s of thriving capitalism driven companies that are doing good and take care of their employees. Well I would say that and the horrible shit economy that has been gifted upon us by Washington and the dirtbag politicians in charge.

I have no words, or expressions or anything I can pass along to cheer the mood for anyone that reads this.
I started Destiny 1 and Destiny 2 basically as a lone player, but along the years I met friends, and it evolved out of Destiny, some I met in real life, some I knew in real life and got them into playing the game.
As the months and years went on, we moved out of Destiny and started playing other games; such as the Battlefields, going back to Titanfall, Star Wars Battlefront, The Forest, Risk of Rain, World of Warships, Rainbow Six Siege, Halo, Ghost Recon etc, etc.
What I'm getting at, is that all of us knew one day, somewhere, sometime in the years since we started our journey as Guardians, all the way back in Destiny 1, that the series would one day end. No more content, no more grinds and possibly one day, severs taken offline permanently. So this group of people that I now chat with everyday, who are some of my closest friends, decided to expand out early from Destiny. Because we knew, all of us here knew, it would end but also because life changes and we have to just keep moving forward and roll with it.
I have moved 7 times since the tail ends of Curse of Osiris, across different states, and I have also moved from job to job just as much. During this time I lost some of those friends, I won't sugar coat it, they're dead now.
I'm sure each and every single one of us who played Destiny and stuck with it have similar stories to mine, but what I'm getting at is, life is constantly moving forward, there is no constant, no gurantee of anything besides that everything will continue to change.
Destiny 2 and the whole Destiny franchise is looking bleak and probably coming to an end here soon, as does everything that exists beneath the sun. It was going to end the moment it released, sure there are better ways than others for an end, but that's not what is important.
What's important is the journey we have had in Destiny as a game, the journeys we all went through in our lives during its time.
But most importantly its the people who we met and who became our friends and our real life fireteams and who we made those memories with. And who we'll continue going forward with when Destiny dies.
That "Bungie has a plan" sounds exactly like "I have a plan- Dutch" and i now understand how we are in this position xDD

Seeing my cousin play crucible back in the Taken King sparked my interest. That Christmas, I was like 12 or 13. I picked it up and played it for so long. It was my second home, where I met many of the people I call "the boys", now. Then when 2 came into beta and I saw dawnblade for the first time, I was in on warlock. When school was shitty or my home life was rocky, I grew up here. I'm 20 now, as of the 12th of july. It's actually crazy to think about the time I spent, but I can't say I regret a second of it.
You know, it would be really funny if someone had an old copy of the game on a hard drive somewhere, and a D2 private server cropped up, with all the old locations and proper file compression.
The problem with good sales is that it's not always enough. There are expectations to meet and if sales are below forcasts - well, that's a good enough reason for a company to panic..regardless if they made a healthy profit or not.

I quit destiny 2 around a year ago (mid lightfall) because i lost intrest in this boring cycle that you mentioned. However when i played for about 2 hours during early Final Shape and the magic that this game once had was gone. Ive shared my some of my best gaming memories with this game and I feel sad and scared if ill ever find a game like it again. Much love guys, my heart goes out for you, all of you. Dont stop trying guardians.
If it helps, I thought no game would ever be as fun as Fortnite when the main squad drifted apart, but then I found Destiny 2, which was as fun, even though I was solo. For all its problems, this is/was a sick ass game, and I'm sure it's not the last

I started as a humble hunter main. Ah, first light on the moon. sniper in hand and chaos everywhere...
It wasn't till the 1st iron banner match on my brother's account that got me into Titan. Fist of havok and helm of inner most light, my god, was it fun, but i had more time back then.
Now i get on for raids and major expansions because it was... is almost always a fun experience. Made a lot of friends on desinty. Not all of them lasted, but those memories were some of the most fun i had playing games...
whatever comes next, im satisfied with the time i spent playing the game. Hopefully, there will be more, but if not, it was a one of a kind experience...

That's what you addicts failed to understand. They not only had mtx but a 50 dollar expansions every year PLUS the seasons. They were always making good money, the problem was the money wasn't going back into the game or to the devs. It was going to the CEO and other executives.
Instead of holding them accountable people just blindly spent money claiming "but the devs have to make money somehow" not even knowing if the devs were getting any of that money.

this situation is like finding out a relative or a close friend was diagnosed with a terminal condition that only leaves them such limited time on this planet. I hope the future will be only prosper and this is just a roadblock like usually but this just being hopeful. I just dont want something as unique as destiny to go so soon because this game genuinely means so much to me and its an experience i will never be able to have in other games.

I can 100% understand the anger, with what happened the last layoff season I can understand the dark view of the future but we dont know exactly what will come to pass yet, I personally have hope things can turn around, at least a few steps in the right direction, ITL and TFS were signs the devs were listening to player feedback, at least a little.

Whilst I don’t disagree, the stories about what content is to come in the future just aren’t likely to keep the game alive anymore. There’s no sequel, there’s no big expansions anymore, no big reason to bring people in anymore.
Marathon is essentially going to be the only thing Bungie can focus on to bring in a massive revenue stream with how many people have left Destiny. Even that is currently not looking good either, so it’s very likely this is the end… it’s been a fun run but yeah…

The Undertale music in the background is pulling on my heart strings, I mean I’m just 16 but this game has been a part of my childhood, so I’m extremely happy to have been a part of it all, I just hope some Bungie employees have a greater plan but my trust has been severed for a while now, but there is this one tethered chaining me to this I cannot leave not yet.
Started playing very late (Witch Queen or thereabouts) and wasn't able to keep up with it for very long but I've yet to play something quite like it since then, it had a very distinct vibe in the world and player base. What really got me hooked for a while was my ghost, embarrassingly enough - I was going through an irl rough patch and was just messing around in the game, ended up in some field challenge. As the fight was starting up a group of randos popped up behind me, my ghost gave me a little "you can do this!" pep talk and I thought "hell yeah we can I'd f*ckin die for you little dude"; became unreasonably attached to it ever since. I'm not like a day one super fan but I can recognize that we'd be losing something special if/when it does go the way of the dodo.
I’ve been around since TTK. I had just dropped out of college and was in a very deep depression that at the time felt inescapable. Living with my mom at the time, my younger brother had Destiny 1 on his Xbox. I watched him play for a little while and then he let me try for a little bit. I was hooked instantly. It gave me something to focus on that wasn’t despair and feelings of failure. Had I not had such a distraction, I may have, in a manner of speaking, taken a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Destiny may have quite literally saved my life.
Defeating the Witness at the end of Excision felt bittersweet, but mostly sweet. My mind had the “well, what now?” feeling, but I was nevertheless excited to see what new directions Bungie could take the story in. After all, our battles with the Witness were not the only part of the story or the lore. There was so much more in this universe we could explore. And (without spoiling anything for those who haven’t played it yet) the Echoes act 2 finale made me excited for this potential new story arc.
Hearing about these layoffs and how greedy Pete Parsons has shown himself to be has absolutely taken the wind out of my sails. I don’t even want to look at the game in my Steam library.

I haven't been able to finish the video. Because you've done such a good job explaining and harnessing the feeling in the pit of my stomach that I feel the knot twisting with each word you gave. I haven't been truly active on Destiny in some time. I used to be a clan leader. I used to have a clan of at least 12 people, all who regularly played and had so much fun with the game. But as time went on, we just, stopped. I've dreaded this for a long time too. Hated the very idea. I grew up playing Halo, and while I jumped into destiny a bit late, back in Taken King, I was still here since then. Playing the game made by the people who built my ideals of gaming. And to see it go down, like this especially. It hurts. This game gave me some of the best friends, my partner, and gave me stories that made me think about the world differently.
Anyway, with the video finished now, I've said all this, to tell you that this video is amazing, you've done a wonderful job and it really resonated with me.
I'll still be here, after Destiny, keeping an eye on your channel, me and my partner.
And I'm sure we'll rewatch some of spicy clips to reflect on the good old days. Remember what was. This game gave us great years, and I had hoped there were many more to come. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. We end as we began. All things fade, and so too shall this, both Destiny, and the pain of its loss.

@@warforge3850 leaving this on a members comment because I want this to be heard, but this is becoming a similar situation to tf2. Ultimately, We are in controll of this game and we have the power to steer this game back onto the path of redemption, and that is with out wallets, stop paying for content untill changes happen and this game comes back from the grave, before it decides to get in. You still have to play the game to show that we want change, but force them to change due to a lack of funds that they wont want to loose, not because the game is failing.
I started playing Destiny when forsaken dropped and I loved every second of it so I decided to play it for 5 years and then to hear this... this is so hard to take in after spending hundreds of hours with friends, randoms, ghost and my beloved hunter.
I'll still play Destiny untill the game dies but it's just going to hurt playing it.
So when this game does eventually die, I'm going to be very sad to see it go.
I finally got into destiny properly with the release of final shape, after trying to get into the game many times over the years. I was so happy to have finally found my footing, and joined this amazing community. It seems maybe I was too late. I'll stay until the end though, see it through now I'm finally here.

As a Destiny veteran who been around since the d1 beta…it’s like a shot to the heart and I’m both depressed and angry at this…Guardians, remember the ones that stayed through the bad, the good and the broken. Here’s to the new lights that never got to experience the game that we veterans have…so guardians, are we going to stayed together or will our light die in this new darkness zone…?
