That is the general reason why I mostly stay away from roguelikes. I hate making so much progress and then having to restart all the way at the beginning. I had the same problem with Dead Cells, and I really enjoyed that game, but I had to put it down. Thanks for the review, Vic. Honestly, if this was just a more straightforward adventure without the roguelike elements, I’d pick it up in a heartbeat.
Two things: 1) I like you giving the music creator a shout out. That is cool. 2) Vic...where are your mittens? I know you live in BC, but in Canada you need mittens when it snows. Ah thanks David - I had gloves with the camera bag. It wasn’t too cold at that moment. And Dale North, the composer, is an awesome dude and he’s unbelievably talented!
I do wish in general roguelike games had more difficult options. I've played wizard of legend for hours with friends and still haven't seen the final boss. I'm playing eagle island currently and it has different difficulty options, which I think will help it stay fun for longer if I ever get stuck. Perhaps this game would have benefited from a similar option?
A cartridge a month as a kid!!?? Birthday and Christmas was IT for me if I was lucky :) Nice vid though I recently finished Sundered and am working on Dead Cells currently.
It sounds like Blossoms Tale might be a better option for a Zelda like game. Thanks for the review of this. There are too many of these style games to get slogged down by one that is, well a slog. haha
Is it really necessary to stand outside in the snow though? Seems a bit random. Is it 'reporting live from the scene' of the Sparklite review or something? Get that man indoors in the warm.

Your frustration reminds me of my experience with Hollow knight, but I'm determined with that title. Great review!

Do like the art of the game. But not a fan of frustrated in games. Will pass on this one.
