Trying a few of these. I dug up a thick root with three stems last year and now that it’s grown out some new fibrous roots I repotted it completely sideways to make it fit in the bonsai pot and I couldn’t take too much off the thick root because most of the feeding roots are on the bottom but I think it could become an interesting triple arch or cascade if I get it right.
Sounds cool 😊 I'm guessing you live in a hot country then if you dug it up? Still new to this species, heard it has to be cut back after it flowers, so seeing how it goes 🤞
@@gizzygreenfingers I’m totally new to this so still reading up on how to proceed but yeah it gets pretty hot here, even though its Northern California. I’m going to have to bring it inside in winter though
@@gizzygreenfingers They can grow outdoors in temperate zones. I'm in Tennessee in the US, and mine are happy year round outside. In the winter, all I do is nestle them in a bunch of leaves in a corner until March. I cut mine back in February, but I don't think they have to have that to bloom, because there's like 20 growing behind our apartment that bloom like crazy, and they've never been cut. Well, one, the managers tried to cut it down and four are now growing from the trunk with flowers all over. Love it when a tree gives a middle finger like that.
Cute Baby Tree 🌴 Love The Blue Clay Pot Gizzy ❤ 🤗
