It WAS bullying, but the second he forcibly kissed him and made him feel completely uncomfortable with his closeness, even in silence, it has since been sexual harassment. Idk why nobody uses that term, especially in the comments. Yes hes a guy, and yes guys can get sexually harassed... why is nobody calling it what it is?
Preach. At first it was just verbal attacks and harassment thrown onto him, but Karofsky had a crush on Kurt, and once he kissed him, it was no longer just closeted gay kid with internalized homophobia bullies openly gay kid because he's jealous. Karofsky was obsessed with him, and although it didn't seem like anything more than bullying, it. was. sexual. harassment.
Right, Kurt was terrified and didn’t give consent. Men like Karofsky don’t deserve happy endings. I makes me sick when I think about BLAINE (of all people) dating Karofsky.
I love Burt and Kurt's relationship.. And how much he knows his son.. Everyone else thought it was just bullying(except Blaine because Kurt only told Blaine about the kiss so he knew the truth about the death threat) but Burt he knew it, he saw it in his son's eyes that something else was happening..
The sad thing is that this kind of shit happens to a lot of LGBT+ kids in real life. There are a bunch of Dave Karofskies out there (although these Karofskies are straight), who will bully any LGBT+ kid that they see in school. What’s worse is that there are teachers and staff who say that they deserve it because of their sexuality or gender identity. And on top of that, they could also have LGBT-phobic parents.
It's this thing I think is called the audience affect, you feel like since so many people are there one of them will do something so why should you. You see it all the time, there's a bunch of stories about it with the one I remember most is this woman at a water park being abused by her gf (He was yelling and swearing at her and shoving her), everyone did nothing but watch until one person finally called him out then people started joining in. It happens in school as well, like sometimes no on raises their hands for an answer until someone does then all of a sudden people are confident.
Even with all the legal support and cultural shifting that's happened within the last 15 years this sorta thing still happens, and is still being ignored by people who have the political and social power to make a difference.
Okay but can we talk about how Sue literally expelled a student who was bullying someone while Mr. ShOe didn't give up twerking to make unique feel safer likee
To be honest he give up twerk fo Unique (I want to think if he first say no it was because it was Sue, he was tired of their fight and angry and he didn't want to let Sue win)
And just for the record I actually really like Dave's character. It just was all kinds of wrong for him too hook up romantically with Blaine or Kurt after everything that happened. Friends? Sure, maybe. Romantic definitely not.
Still to this day, it's my absolute favorite storyline of the entire show. I think it's the best one, it showed a lot of depth between Kurt and Dave. One because it's completely relatable, I've been bullied, I've felt threatened, I know what it's like, and so it was easy for me to step into Kurt's shoes. And second, I'm into guys myself (I just didn't accept that part of myself when I watched this at the time, but part of me always knew I was, and now that I've embraced it, this really resonates).
Kurt always says "Hey!!" when he is mad or upset. Like when the idiots were bashing up the gay person in a New York alleyway and Kurt ran at them screaming "HEY" at the top of his lungs.
“You gonna hit me? Do it, hit me because it’s not going to change who I am. You can’t punch the gay out of me like I can punch the ignoramus out of you!” That was the moment I realized Kurt is the best character, as well as the scene in season 5 where the homophobes were beating a gay man.
This is a video highlighting three rather important issues: Bullying, homophobia and most importantly overall discrimination within a place in which one should feel safe. Having been through a similar thing myself through high school, regarding my own sexuality I respect the importance. But can we all just take a moment to acknowledge 'The Fury' I mean like, really?? XD
TheFlashFinn hating someone that’s life in no way effects you in a harmful way isn’t cool. So what people are gay it’s just the way of the world, gays have been along in history for a long time they aren’t going anywhere.
Chris Colfer is such a good actor. I recently found clips of this show, and I'm realizing how amazing that show must have been for kids who were watching it. Kurt's experiences remind me of my and some of my friend's experiences in high school.

Sadly still a daily basis from some juniors out there. Kurt being one of the very few who manage to stay alive despite all the pain this caused.
I remember watching the episode with the kiss when it first aired and being utterly and completely horrified - Kurt looked so...traumatized, deeply and horrifically. Something had been done to him that he could never undo, something taken from him he could never get back. I couldn't believe that Kurt forgave Dave after everything. But I guess that's just a testament to Kurt's character. And then Dave matured and changed so beautifully, that I forgave him too. What a storyline.
I’m not gay but this scene made me very emotional because I can relate to being bullied for who I am. I am a dark skin black woman and I was bullied for my race and for having dark skin.
Even early on when Dave Karofsky was behaving like a jerk and terrorizing Kurt, I knew that his character would eventually be one that I would come to like. This video really shows how the bullying really became worse from season 1 to season 2 and the fact that Kurt still kept that secret and protected him and was there for him even after everything damm this boy is the best
3:55 you could see how Kurt was trying to be strong and was thinking about telling people just to get back at Dave after everything he put him through, but he didn’t because he knows how hard it was for him and how harder it’ll be for Dave and he didn’t wish being outed on even his worst enemy... the fact that Kurt’s actor managed to portray all that in a single look is so amazing
One thing that kind of bothers me is the fact that everyone brushes over the fact that, even though Karofsky's threat was just a figure of speech, he did take advantage of Kurt's fear (4:03 to 4:31). I don't like that that scene isn't really talked about (to my knowledge at least), because Karofsky knew that he'd scared Kurt and, rather than not do anything or tell Kurt that he didn't mean it literally, he took something from Kurt by making Kurt scared for his life. I like that Karofsky got a redemption, but that still bugs me.
We all know how wonderful Chris is, with these scenes and the show in general. But it helps that he had a worthy sparring partner in Max bloody Adler. Case in point 4:17, when that terrifying scowl slowly morphs into one of the most terrifying smiles ever, and you didn’t know what was gonna become of it, but you were as fearful as Kurt as to what he would do. Dedication. We deserve to see Max in more TV shows/movies.
Dave Kurofski's story for me is one of the hightlights of glee. Scared to come out, and when you do sometimes its not for the better outcome but in the end. The person who you bully becomes a great friend and support. The reality in his story is really spot on
the thing that has always pissed me off about this story is that it's supposed to be about antibullying. but in the middle of it Sue literally gives an example of bullying and the dad and everyone else just ignores. the principal is literally the biggest bully at the school and they wonder why the students think bullying is ok
Why did they have to make the scene so rapey...I almost lowkey thought Karofsky would go worse than just poking Kurt's chest or to kiss Sure Dave grew up to be a better person but that doesn't mean people should be nicer to him or forgive him for what he did. A bully will always be a bully and nothing can atone for the damage bullying has done . Kurt was not obliged to forgive David so that shows how generous Kurt was... and so no i can't ship Kurtofsky though they kinda look cute. Bullying isn't cute and i dont get why the media has to make excuse for the perpetrator 'Bullies are not all so bad forgive them'
There are people who do change, but I find it disturbing that people would want Kurt to date him after Karofsky threatening his life and Kurt being afraid of getting raped (it's not said, but after that kiss, and Karofsky physically assaulting him everyday, it would definitely be a concern if it was real life situation). Like I said, some people can and do change, but wanting a person to date someone who had exhibited such abusive behavior to just an acquaintance is really disturbing.
Must disgusting comment ever. I hope you never make a horrible mistake in life and people keeps on treating like shit despite you growing to be a better person.
True. Karofsky clearly didn't know how to deal with his feelings and so he forced them onto Kurt. I think that was intentional, how the camera pans down with Karofsky's finger kinda gives off this rape-y vibe, like Karofsky could have gone lower if he wanted too, which honestly makes him even more terrifying because he could do anything he wanted to poor Kurt and Kurt would be absolutely powerless.

Holy shit I remember fist seeing this and dying a little inside
Kurt’s style really was on point
"Well he's not coming out anytime soon....." *signs exasperated * omg👏👏👏💕💕💕💕💕
Love how casual Blaine is after he got pushed he just strikes a pose basically
(grunts in frustration) same
The pure horror and disgust after Karofsky kisses him... Chris is such a great actor honestly
"YOU WANT A PIECE OF THE FURY??" BRO I SPEWED WTF WAS THAT LINE??? 😂😂
“Well he’s not coming out anytime soon”
I freaking love season 2 Blaine 😂😂
3:55 you could see how Kurt was trying to be strong and was thinking about telling people just to get back at Dave after everything he put him through, but he didn’t because he knows how hard it was for him and how harder it’ll be for Dave and he didn’t wish being outed on even his worst enemy... the fact that Kurt’s actor managed to portray all that in a single look is so amazing
Chris Colfer plays Kurt so well. You can see the violation and the fear in his eyes. Seriously amazing acting!
I like that Karofsky got a redemption, but that still bugs me.
absolutely wonderful that Kurt defend himself
We all know how wonderful Chris is, with these scenes and the show in general.
But it helps that he had a worthy sparring partner in Max bloody Adler.
Case in point 4:17, when that terrifying scowl slowly morphs into one of the most terrifying smiles ever, and you didn’t know what was gonna become of it, but you were as fearful as Kurt as to what he would do.
Dedication. We deserve to see Max in more TV shows/movies.
Burt is so nice
Is a Dad, it's a normal reaction!!!
Am I the only one who cried when they kissed in Never Been Kissed?!
Dave kissing Kurt was the biggest fucking bombshell in high school. I remember everyone coming to school screaming “WHOAAA!!”
I like the way kurt said a kiss that had counted because remember when he kissed Brittany to prove to his dad that he was the manly son he had wanted
*karofsky kisses kurt*
*kurt looks like he's been stabbed*
Me: WHAT... THE FLAMING HELL.
First off Kurt is an awesome character. I mean, just wow. Karosky is clearly projecting his insecurities on to someone he wish he could be.
Why the hell did he continue the bullying Kurt when he said he wouldn't tell anyone? Like no
Because up until yesterday I had never been kissed *remembers brittney* well not one thtlat counted anyway
Okay. I never saw the series. I don't even know how I got here, but when that dude kissed him, he caught me off guard. Like... what?
i feel so sad for Kurt especially de fear in his eyes n when Shue asked if hes alright n u can see he was bout to cry in fear when he told him no
And this is why my favourite characters are Kurt and Sue
Dave Kurofski's story for me is one of the hightlights of glee. Scared to come out, and when you do sometimes its not for the better outcome but in the end. The person who you bully becomes a great friend and support. The reality in his story is really spot on
these scenes make me cry 😭 Kurt was my favorite character and i’m so happy Blaine always stood up for him
Narcisistic Blaine
the thing that has always pissed me off about this story is that it's supposed to be about antibullying. but in the middle of it Sue literally gives an example of bullying and the dad and everyone else just ignores. the principal is literally the biggest bully at the school and they wonder why the students think bullying is ok
😆. I know, right, His dad thinks it was okay for her to call his son, Porcelain?
@@zythr9999 exactly !
@@maikeweige1548 Subtle way of saying he's fragile.
@zythr9999 lol yes so so subtle lol
0:42 I love this scene cause everything kurt says is facts
The parallel to this and Finn and Santana is crazy
I love how calm and sympathetic Blaine is to both of them
I think this is one of the many sitiations that Sue shows her humanity.
The first time I saw the Kurt karofsky kiss I literally screamed out loud like in fear
I wish I was kidding
are we gonna ignore how this is one of sues all time best moments and shows how much she really cares for the kids
Sparksonic I noticed that and I was like holy crap 😶
Blaine’s reaction lmao. “well he’s not coming out anytime soon.”
Then ends up dating him and living with him lol
omg when kurt pushed dave off of blaine tho, my hurt legit melteddd
Karofsky was just meant to be a background character but Ryan Murphy was impressed with his acting so gave him a bigger role in season 2.
That guy deserved to get expelled for his bullying, harassment, and threats.
I like how Blaine is so calm during this
Kurt is literally the best character
No one:
No one at all:
Blaine: Well he’s not coming out any time soon.
Why did they have to make the scene so rapey...I almost lowkey thought Karofsky would go worse than just poking Kurt's chest or to kiss
Sure Dave grew up to be a better person but that doesn't mean people should be nicer to him or forgive him for what he did. A bully will always be a bully and nothing can atone for the damage bullying has done . Kurt was not obliged to forgive David so that shows how generous Kurt was... and so no i can't ship Kurtofsky though they kinda look cute. Bullying isn't cute and i dont get why the media has to make excuse for the perpetrator 'Bullies are not all so bad forgive them'
lima heights THANK YOU after Kurt pushes him away the 2 time I thought he was going to grab him and kiss him
There are people who do change, but I find it disturbing that people would want Kurt to date him after Karofsky threatening his life and Kurt being afraid of getting raped (it's not said, but after that kiss, and Karofsky physically assaulting him everyday, it would definitely be a concern if it was real life situation). Like I said, some people can and do change, but wanting a person to date someone who had exhibited such abusive behavior to just an acquaintance is really disturbing.
lima heights amen to that
Must disgusting comment ever.
I’m sad that Burt yelled at Finn even though he didn’t even know about the threat :(
