I always thought this song could have been great if the Stephen story had been told correctly. Stephen saw Jesus standing while he was being tried by the council. After he said that to the priests, he was taken out of the city and stoned. He prayed while being stoned. I've heard this told incorrectly by well-meaning preachers numerous times.
