I had some fun on this one earlier today. There were over 1,800 riders on the initial 12 PM EST / 5 PM GMT ride - largest group I've ever ridden with on Zwift. Ruben Dhondt decided to put in a 9-10w/kg dig and go long for the victory on ours with about 3 or 4k to go. It was probably a small zone 4 surge for him but I wasn't about to chase him as putting my fitness against his would be suicide by bicycle😅 That said, the final 1 to 1.5 km downhill finish stretch is very fast as you noted and I did have some fun lining up a long sprint against the bunch at the end. I saw Deca Dash as the long ride but knew I didn't have 10 laps of that sort of repeated surge and punch in the legs today. That's probably the more interesting circuit for crit racing going forward . . . although I'd be fine with a five lap "Penta" Dash instead if I'm honest.
@@E.M.B.R Love it, I was jealous my wake up time was after the first ones went out. Ruben is so good, I'm not surprised at all. Yeah deca is selective but a little monotonous too. Penta would be great with a steeper climb!
