  • I could hardly lift the box it arrived in, but was really excited to test out the EcoFlow 400W solar panel with the Delta 2 power station.

    This is by far the most powerful portable solar panel I have ever seen and at 400W it is really huge and perfect to charge my Delta Max.

    In most cases the panel can be laid flat between 10 and 2. Having shadows on the panels from surrounding trees and bushes will have a big effect on the energy you get from it.

    I do like that Ecoflow made these panels waterproof not water-resistant like all the other solar panels.

    I just got my 400 watt EcoFlo panel. Struggling to exceed 260 watts in. Seems to be a pretty perfect day. Clear day, 9/26/2023. 7221 foot elevation, in Colorado. Connected to EcoFlo Pro.
    I did make a stand for it, using 1 1/4 inch pvc pipe. I used a 6’ + length of pipe. Cut that in half. Used a T connector to connect the 2 pieces and used another length of pipe at the T for a leg, which can be move to adjust the angle of panel. Thanks for video.

      I forgot to say that I used plastic zip ties to connect pipe to panel at the grommets.

      Loving the sound of your stand. I sold the panel in the end. I found it a bit too big. I prefer using two separate 200w panels now. I'm jealous of you being in colorado. Rocky Mountain High!

    I run 6 of these 3s2p on my Ecoflow delta pros. I checked with Ecoflow before doing it, I was told that the delta pro could actually handle 30 amps of solar. So the 3s2p array will put out a max of 1200watts 144v and 22-24amps.

    is the xc60 cable that connects the power station to solar panel included in the 400 w package?

    The efficiency of this solar panel is at 22.60% which is quite good than the others.

    Looking at those panels which are very thin, so the overall thickness is remains thin, even when folded up.

    If you had an RV, you could place the panel on the roof. Or on the roof of a small house. Could you run a phone, a laptop and lights on it?

    If it is not too heavy, I probably take it to my office and charge it there; I got a private working room. Would that be a good idea? Free energy for without sunlight.

      These panels need to be outside. I've never registered any power indoors if that's what you mean

    This 400W panel will actually allow you to remain off grid as much as possible which is perfect for my off grid cabin.

    • @CampingSecretsUK
      @CampingSecretsUK  Рік тому

      Yup, but you need a power station which can accept that much power coming in from solar. The Delta 2 is perfect for that. Cheers for your comment Robert.

    If IP68 means business, then there is no restrictions about how long you can keep it open outside under weather conditions. I have no idea why they say something like that they dont recommend it. I set my 400W panel, similar to this in video, outside in the balcony. Build up aluminium DIY frame for it with supports, attachment dont by M6 bolts and wingnuts to hold it flat and connected safely 50 degree angle (Today sun is shining around 22 degrees, and midsummer around 50 degree). Using Delta 2 with it. My daily energy consumption got 50% less doing this, but ofcourse in the wintertime in EU its not shining everyday, so bare that in mind.

    Would you be able to use a different solar panel with the delta 2? £1k is just eye watering

    • @CampingSecretsUK
      @CampingSecretsUK  Рік тому

      Yes you can, but obviously it will take longer to charge. In the UK, getting a few hours of direct sunshine is unusual! The price is ridiculous 😂

      @@CampingSecretsUK so would a pair of slightly more affordable 100w ones be able to be hooked up and work properly with the delta 2?

    • @CampingSecretsUK
      @CampingSecretsUK  Рік тому

      Yup you can do this Michael - you can connect two 100W panels in series or parallel (use this cable shrsl.com/3td6k) and plug into the EcoFlow Delta 2. The 400W panel is essentially 4 x 100W panels in series anyway! The cheapest 100W panel I've seen is here (amzn.to/3gCf6wY), but I have not tested it - one for a future video!

  • @justinlinnane8043

    The design seems very clumsy and not brilliant for getting the panels flat and in a lined up properly to the sun . defeats the purpose a bit surely if your only getting a couple of hundred watts out of it !!

    • @CampingSecretsUK
      @CampingSecretsUK  Рік тому +1

      Agree. I didn't rate the design of the stand at all

    • @stevee2095
      @stevee2095 Рік тому +2

      It is rather clumsy/sloppy. Having the panels on the end angle/fall outward, which while sloppy, could be useful as the outer panels, with their angle back, compensate for the movement of the sun, or rather the Earth :). Even so I am going to try, once setup, attaching fiberglass rods across the top, attached with those strong paperclips, which may help - it certainly won't be as sloppy and unpredictable.
