I just saw this musical today and it's clearly one of the best musicals I've seen (and I've seen over 20 in the last 6 months). The cast is awesome and the story is unforgettable. This is a must-see show.
@@eduardksenofontov6641 I will probably see it again in the near future and treat a friend. Although tastes vary, I'm virtually certain that you will love it when you come to my home town (NYC) next week.

Is it strange that she goes from a young black woman to an old white woman and he goes from a young white man to an old black man? Isn’t the whole concept of the story is that the old man tells the old lady their love story of how they met so that she remembers he is her husband?
I think she might have recognized him through the stories and the personalities not his external looks. It would have been really boring if he would have just described what her love looked like so she would recognize him
This small detail bothers me… It’s just not realistic that someone switches their entire race as they age. Glad I’m not the only one that noticed. Other than that, this looks like an amazing production 😊
@@NathaliDPthere are black forefathers on Broadway. Men playing women in Shakespeare, literal fucking people dressed as cats, I TRUST you can suspend your disbelief on the color of a characters skin with the SAME NAME throughout the show. I trust you’re not that boring and obtuse. Believe in yourself. I believe in you.
As far as i know, the book never mentioned race. So having a white man faling for a black woman can make the story more compelling especially the time period itctakes places. But I'm also glad someone pointed this out why they audden switch races when the characters gotten older. I would have more leniant if this were a middle school, high school or even college production because the directors can't be picky. But this is a professional Broadway show and have unions. At least match it up.
it’s supposed to be a choice of colorblind casting. with this, the racial continuity clearly doesn’t make sense, but who cares? It’s still the same character
ndalester-brooks8179 0 seconds ago OK I’m confused if they’re going to do this then if Allie’s going to be black when she’s younger, shouldn’t she be black when she’s older why would they have a white woman playing it as an older version makes no sense or reverse have I young white person, if the older person is going to be white. If you’re black when you’re young, you certainly don’t turn white when you’re older and vice versa. Plus, they have a white young Noah and then when he’s older, he’s black, what the heck make up your minds you can’t transform from white black whether you’re young or old oh my lands. 🤣🤣🤣 I mean we aren’t blind just make the older person black. Good grief why did they cast the roles like that? That is so odd. Who on earth was behind casting the parts didn’t they understand you’ve got Allie as a person? She’s got to be the same color when she’s young versus when she’s old oh my gosh.
Exactly! People don’t change colors as they get older 😂 and no I’m not racists it just throws the story off though keep one color through young and old.
C'mon people use your imagination. This is Broadway! We don't need people to be the same color to tell a beautiful story. The actors and actresses do a beautiful job portraying this. When you see the show, it doesn't get in the way of the story in any way whatsoever. George Washington wasn't black but is a black man in Hamilton and it doesn't change the story. Hamilton wasn't Puerto Rican. And yet they are still able to tell a compelling story about America.
Sorry, but I think you are missing the point of broadway here. The casts are amazing!! They did a really great act! So why Lion King does not use real animals??? 😅
Hi. I’m a queer, neurodivergent, Korean individual living in Minnesota. I can only speak on my own experiences on this matter, so this is my take on it: the cast looks amazing, beautiful, and talented, but I could also see how the casting choices could potentially have negative connotations or contribute to stereotypes regarding POCs if you dig into it a little deeper. It still looks like an amazing show though. I’ll definitely be seeing it if it comes to MN.
The book the muaical is about a wealthy family not wanting their daughter to date or marry a working class man and it's all vasexon classism. The book always been woke.

I recently saw this on Broadway and it is one of the most beautiful shows I have ever seen. Phenomenal adaption. (Bring tissues)
I saw it for the second time today! Beautifully done! The epic rain scene, the beautiful voices and songs, the emotions! 🤗

Ryan Vasquez was mean to me in high school. Kinda takes me out of the story lmfao. 🤣

This has to win the tony awards this has too. I haven't seen this yet but omg this looks amazing 😊😊
Absolute CRAP that this was NOT nominated for BEST MUSICAL.
…anyone know any slime tutorials for this?

its called colorblind casting, so they dont pay attention to race in this instance. hope that answers your question
