Don’t give up on the potpourri crock just yet. I use a small crockpot for my simmer pot and I usually have it up in high for a couple hours then turn it down. Otherwise it takes forever to smell it. Maybe if you put everything in a pot and bring it to a boil first and then transfer it to the crockpot it would work. You said you bring the copper pot to a boil first then to simmer - same idea. Let us know if you try that and if it makes a difference. Love all your finds today. You show such joy and excitement in your videos. So very fun to watch!
Hi Jenn i love the simmering pot. I have one we got at our wedding shower 48 yrs ago. Ours still works. Great fine. I think we are kindered spirits. Love your videos. Love you my sweet friend 😊
I have just gotten on to simmer pots. I also use diffusers, but this summer at the cottage I started using a simmer pot. LOVE it. Now I’m going to make my own potpourri!! You definitely “needed” that vintage simmer pot! 😜🇨🇦
Hello Jenn, So glad I found your channel. I am a Rochester, NY gal, UB grad, now living in rural Maine. No Wegmans or Aldi, one Trader Joe's 3 hours away. Imagine! Two local thrift shops disappointing. Nearest big city is 80 miles away. I cherish decorating my mom's hutch. She had only 2 place settings of her 1952 wedding china. A best friend in Rochester thrifted over a dozen pieces for me.Amazing! Looking forward to your videos and the Western NY connection. I've met two Buffalo transplants here. Go Bills!
Hi! So nice to hear from you! I bet you miss Wegmans! It's such a great store! I love it! That is amazing she was able to find over a dozen pieces for you! It's the thrill of the hunt! Go Bills! ;)
Oh my goodness that day was your day for sure. I got just excited as you did for all the beautiful finds that you bought. I would had bought all of that as well as thats how I decorate my home. I did get ideas, matter of fact had to get me a pen and pad and wrote it all down. Loved your decorating with your nice pieces.
My favorite piece that you found is the large basket. Baskets are so expensive and really hard to find one that’s the tight size and shape. Great find!!
Great finds! You decorate beautifully. I love baskets and I love the idea putting water in the mason jars and adding real baby’s breath. Thanks for a great video. Marion
Everything looks lovely. The white Pfaltzgraff pieces are the Heritage pattern. I had service for 12, canisters, tureen, serving pcs, coffee pot and the sugar and creamer you have. It is heavy and durable and as I got older, emptying the dishwasher and putting things in upper cabinets was a chore. I loved it because it went with any colored table linens. You had some great finds. Too bad about the simmer pot. Love your videos.😊
Gosh I can't wait to be able to thrift! Almost time haha! We're about to close on our house and I could explode. I love all the things you found, so pretty. Very inspiring to go treasure hunting.
Hi Jenn.I love the things you thrifted especially the baskets and the copper kettle!!Love how you placed everything and I do think the doughbowl on top of your new black hutch is perfect there!!!Enjoy everything!!What is it about us gals(all ages)loving to thtift and buy new things for our homes?!!!!!😁❤👍
Great finds!!! Love the salt crock. Since I saw one of your Spring videos last year I have been watching out for the Michael s white tulips. FINALLY, I found some . I made the beautiful tulip wreath that you showed us! I LOVE it. Thanks for your inspiration . 😊
I just came across your page today and really enjoyed it. It really hit home when you spoke about your Mom collecting the little stamps and pasting them in the coupon book. Jenn, I would have gone back for the awesome flower motif crock also. The copper kettle is amazing and another favorite of mine. Fantastic basket and thrifty finds. Blessings and love. Sherry 🥰 🙏 💞
Hi Sherry! I still love that crock even if I doesn’t work the best (and I rubbed some of the wording off, lol!) but it’s still cute. I’m sure I’ll eventually think of something to do with it. Have a great evening my friend!🤍
You found some great finds. Gosh, I’m sorry that little crock pot didn’t work out. I had high hopes for it. You styled everything so pretty, and those baskets with the tulips and greenery stems look so good. I’m inspired, friend! TFS! 🩷🌷🫶🏻
Thanks! Kitty loves his chair. I found this chair years ago on clearance at HomeGoods for $35! When kitty isn’t on it it’s one of my favorite little corners to come and sit. 😉
I love thrifting!! Maybe you can use some boiled water and then add it to the potpourri warmer with the ingredients then keep the lid off of it??? It is so nostalgic! If it really doesn’t work well maybe put a candle in it and use it as a holder? Love your channel!!!!
I use to have that crick simmering pot. At the time they sold these beads that were scented and they floated in water. I used mine a long time. I will be watching to see how it works for you
You found such great things! NEVER see copper in our thrift stores, and rarely in the antique stores.I love your copper kettle!!! Also, your black hutch in the dining room and sideboard are pretty, did you purchase them new??
Sorry your little crockpot didn’t work out! I have one very similar and have used it for over 30 years, and I love it! My crock insert does remove from base, which makes it nicer for cleaning. Got this at Traders World flea market near Cincinnati, and has been one of my favorite memories picked up on a vacation while visiting in the States! 🇨🇦
You found some amazing things while out thrifting, I just adore ironstone and you found some great pieces. I'm sad the potpourri pot didn't work out, I had such high hopes. Such a fun video, I just adore how you style your home.
Love your new finds! All the new white pieces and baskets are fabulous, and the peg rack is super cute and handy! I especially love the potpourri crock ~ but so sorry it didn’t work out so great 😟 Maybe if you get the water boiling in different pan, and then transfer to the prewarmed crockpot … ?? 🤷♀ Worth a try, because it is so cute and nostalgic. Hey, do you know your brother likes thrifting too? Gets a lot of his clothes that way (& you know how dapper and spiffy he always looks 😉😊). You two should go to Savers together while he’s home ~ might be a fun thing to do together! ☺
It must run in the family. 😉 That’s a good idea to transfer it to the pot. I don’t think it gets hot enough. Maybe it’s just me. lol!😫 Yes! I’ll have to take him to Savers while he’s visiting! He’d love it!
Do you know if you can use vintage copper tea pots to heat water for tea/drinking? Wasn’t sure if they could be cleaned to use or not. I want one so badly! Thanks
Thank you! I use cinnamon sticks, lemon, and springs of rosemary. In the fall I simmer leftover apple cider ( I also freeze it too so I can use in simmer pots) along with apple and orange slices. I also like to use mulling spices too. It smells so good!
Hi! Thanks! Yes! I’ve been to Erie many times. My parents live in Westfield,NY not far from the border so we’d hop to Erie often. We love Presque Isle. It’s beautiful! We’ve had some mild weather here. Fingers crossed it stays like this. 😉
Sorry the crackpot didn't work, but it is CUTE....I love the basket with the tulips and the one with baby's breath is breathtaking!!!! You make your home so welcoming and beautiful! TYFS ❤😊

I had the same experiences! I tried to use a small crockpot for my simmer and never smelled it so I stick to the stovetop method! Always works:)
I’m glad I’m not the only one! It’s such a cute concept in the little crockpot but you can barely smell it. The stove method works a lot better.
