Your tips are exceptional for this newb welder. I've improved 10-fold due to your tips.
"If it leaves a slag, you have to drag" f'n priceless wisdom right there! Dude you have basically unlocked what's problematic for most beginners (myself included) with a simple, common sense saying- position/distance are important but none of it matters if you're contaminating the joint and stacking on top of the slag that you just blew ahead of the puddle! That and your fill technique is a keeper- I'm sure others are out there, but most of the time these guys don't share how to recover from a blow-thru, they just say that you want to avoid them🤣- wish I had this video to reference a couple of years ago. Keep up the good work Coinsie!
Thank you for the comment appreciate you and the time you took to write this thank you
Beauty of a video! Learned more in 8min than the last couple weeks on UA-cam. Simple, straight to the point tips!
The "star' method helps with some of my beginner's welding mistakes. Thanks for the explanation.
Avoiding making holes is a skill, so is filling them!
I found through trial and error the star method seems the way to go, beef up the edges to take a hot bead.
Seems with welding, every weld is added experience and skill, you are always learning better technique.
Right on the money,I use a gasless at home for car stuff exactly like that, you can fill anything, cheers, Mike
I found this page by accident but I have honestly learned more from you than anyone else. The explanations are straight and direct. Thanks.
thank you for that comment really appreciated it

I must have been the one to burn the holes! Sorry about that! Thank you for the video!

Thank you for that comment appreciate it
I am a not very experienced hobby welder. And if porosity is a good thing that would make you a top notch welder
😂 Exactly my thoughts on this video.
Thanks for the advice on filling holes. Good job. Keep up the good work
Wish i had watched your video before i started my project! Oh well, it will end strong. Thanks!!
Some humble yet important corrections! This will be embarrassing! 😢 Sorry man but as this is a public channel and you are teaching welding techniques to your audience I feel obligated to put things right!
Your stick out should be twice as long. Now with your short stick out it WILL create porosities/worms!
Use a 3/4-1” stick out with flux core wire. Or even better - read on the wire box the recommendation by the manufacturer!
Reason: the flux needs to be preheated before entering the weld pool otherwise nitrogen is trapped inside and when cooling down it wants to escape. Hence all your porosities. 😅
2) If you are between thicknesses (voltage settings) don’t go higher. Too high voltage (amps) also creates porosities/worms.
Also: although flux core welding is somewhat less sensitive to rust etc than MIG/MAG (which is totally useless on uncleaned metals) it is far more sensitive than stick welding (with the correct pin) so… why not help your welding on the way by cleaning up properly before and between welds! I wish you would add that to the tutorial 😉
Kind regards
Anders

Good tip, thank you 👍
You are a bad ass welder…I want to be you one day😂😂😂
Thats a sick machine!
thanks bro
Where did you get that hat? Can you send me the link??
Sck as job dude
Thank you
Really thin stuff can test your patience, when even a split second longer can blow right thru it. then you spend 10x as long repairing holes.
i love this
appreciate you
Is this a multipass wire or can it be done with a single pass fluxcore?
Ur golden
thank you
Flux core has a number on the label that , if it ends with a GS it is for single pass welding. I use both types single and multi pass.
great tips, man!
So it’s ok to grind it back down and weld over my old weld for strength
All I see is weld weld weld
Thank you
I have to learn to be patient. My welds are just globs. It’s hard to get a hand technique for me. I’m going to look for some scrap metal to practice on.
Plug the holes with aluminium foil 😎
I want to patch some holes in some tricks! Lol
a grinder and paint makes me the welder i aint
Grinder grinder lol
Lol
No gas welding
