Good vid, nice weld result. Only thing I'd like you to comment on aswell is your stick position angle that works best in your experience. A video on welding a flat plate to a post in the ground would be great cause you have to curve around the pipe in overhead (not that my technique was off there was something wrong with the welder foresure lol)

Here is an example of a very well thought and organized instructional video.. I hope other DIY vloggers could learn something from this.. no jerky movements and very well placed shots.. more power to you brother!!!!

Really thin stuff can test your patience, when even a split second longer can blow right thru it. then you spend 10x as long repairing holes.

I have the hobart handler 140.wure speed is @ 20 and my V is set on 1. Im still burning thru 18 gauge. Ive tried hauling ass even. What am i doing wrong?

If this video is for beginners the 6011 rod should NOT be used. 6011 sticks too much on A.C. The 7014 rods is much easier to use without as much sticking. I gave the last bunch of 6011 away, good riddance. This is not up for debate as I have found what I wrote to be true on every AC welder I have used since 46 years ago. Just wire brush the area to be welded. Not that hard to do.

I found that 115A and about a 5 degree up and the slightest manipulation works best for me

Hey, buddy, when you're doing the same joint with the same thickness of plate, with 1/8" 7018, try 112A to 117A & on the Vertical try keeping your rod angle as close to 90degrees as possible. 👍

Congrats. You can do the easiest form of welding.

A real certified welder watches his legs on the weld and is able to put spec welds in from a 1/8 “ to a 1/4 to 5/16 and a 5/16 is the biggest pass you can make with that size of wire
