Man, Masters of the Universe was a masterpiece to kid me. I was an absolute He-man head as a kid. I had all the toys and even a book that had a small LP that would narrate the book. Was awesome.
You've never watched Masters of the Universe 😯 that's crazy! I love the classic artwork and packaging on the Umbrella release but no chance I'm spending that kind of money on a Blu-ray lol. A 4K will come eventually.
@bmg5015 I bought the Imprint box set of The Warriors on Blu-ray for £60, a year later Arrow release the 4K lol. I was lucky that I sold the Imprint boxset to cover the cost of the 4K.
@KirkRedgate When I saw that imprint did that, I just knew somebody would be releasing it in the States sometime after. I waited and bought it from Arrow. I'm very happy I did so
They are region free I guess they only put region B on the box because Australia are a region B territory and might have to have region B on the box by their laws
Where do you look to find out who has the distribution rights to certain movies? I've been looking for a reliable site but haven't been able to find one. Just would like to get an idea of who has what and for how long, so I know the chances of something getting a 4k release and what not. Thanks, Ken!
I was kinda relieved there was nothing I definitely wanted straight-up this month, as I ordered the Dead End Drive-In Collector’s Edition last month and also the Hammer Horror Vol. 2 set!
I preordered Tank Girl as soon as it went up. It's just one of those movies I had to have in the collection. Such a fun, crazy, comic book style vibe. Great 90's soundtrack. I also ordered the Stigmata collectors edition too, which arrived a couple of days ago and looks awesome. Patricia Arquette is an OG scream queen with Dream Warriors and Stigmata under her belt, plus the tv show Medium which was really good
I may get that Coffy release just to have. Masters of the Universe was a joke of a movie. I remember going to see Predator in '87 and when the trailer for MOTU came on, the audience started laughing.
Masters of Universe!!! if u not watched this u not lived the 80s i remember this on Betamax video tape...I was 12 year hyperactive kid massive into Rambo, Rocky, CHUCK Norris movies...and thought how awsome He Man was Dolphin Lundgren ....1989 what an awsome year i miss the 80s😢. I would not bet on 4k anytime soon.... that bit of a gamble plus that box set looks awsome. Also Dolphin Lundgren did the 1st PUNISHER movie 🎥 in my opinion the best Punisher...makes Travolta look like😂......Totally RAW!
I’d be in for most of these but I don’t think I can justify buying anything Umbrella does moving forward that isn’t a new scan. They should provide more information about what scans are going onto these discs. I’ve been ordering a lot of their stuff lately and haven’t watched all of it yet but I did recently notice that a couple of titles really didn’t look that great and I noticed nothing was mentioned about the scan itself online or an the packaging. Not blaming Umbrella for this as I should’ve just paid more attention but I’d just been assuming these were all having restorative work done by Umbrella which doesn’t seem to be the case and while the packaging is top notch it doesn’t justify the prices if they aren’t doing that kind of work. For example I’d love to know if their version of Audition features the same transfer as Arrow’s disc? I’ve got that coming in a package with several of their releases, always wanted to order the arrow set but went with this instead for the extras but now I’m concerned I’ll be getting an inferior disc. Heard bad things about Red Rock West as well and with VS doing their own release that will have a new restoration it makes me wish I’d waited. I get that these guys are still a smaller label atm and I’m hoping that as they grow they step up their game as far as restoring more of these movies or at the very least being more upfront about what transfer will be on the disc. Having said all this I will also mention that I get that a lot of what they do is catering to the Australian market where many of these films aren’t available at all and so it’s a blessing that they’re just being made available at all to that market. Anyways yeah these sets all look fantastic and I might still grab tank girl because it’s just OOP on blu ray anyways and goes for a lot but I have a feeling masters of the universe will get a better transfer done by someone down the line and Arrow have done Coffey before and I wouldn’t be surprised if that got a 4K upgrade from them sometime
Umbrella probably get them made abroad in the first place. Super Mario is pretty good , its fun. IDK if a uhd is needed but if you like it enough its all good.

Man it's too bad umbrella doesn't do more 4k's. A lot of cool movies but all blu ray. Anyways, I finally got around to checking out my best buy today. Miserable movie section! I came for Fargo and there was 1 copy no slipcover! I couldn't do it without my piece of cardboard so I got ghoulies and the wailing instead. 😔 Both 16 bucks though. Saw Hugo in there and remember u recommended it to me the other day. Couldn't do it after spending 40 bucks. I was seriously tempted though. Anyways, I'm gonna have to resort to ebay for an overpriced Fargo lol
Does anybody think it is a good idea to ship steelbooks back to Amazon for a slightl dent have to really look for it I've bought 15 or so lately and last 3 slightly dent if you look for it
The Blu-ray only irritates me. If they let me know there will be a 4K set down the line, it would put me at ease. I don't want to double-dip when Umbrella will do dual-format anyway. I'm already doing that with THE HITCHER, but until I can afford to drop $110 + shipping for no good reason, I'm gonna have to pass despite the fact that Umbrella does nothing less than *STELLAR* work.
Umbrella have changed the design of the Masters of the Universe rigid slip case and its a terrible design choice to what was previously shown in you video, can't believe why very disappointing 😞
