I always thought this Garuda episode to be an interpolation, but the way you have narrated this i have changed my mind...there might be some interpolations in this chapter of yuddh kand but is definitely not a later addition..😇😇
Ohh ofcourse that Garuda in a forest just randomly happened to know out of nowhere that Shri Ram and Lakshman needed medicines for the cure of their paralysis. Obviously he wasn't the dear vahana of Shri Ram in Vaikuntha. Its kinda fun hearing you trying to make sense in the words Maharshi Valmiki had written in the Itihaas which is almost entirely a poetic embellishment from Sundarkand onwards wherever there is a mention of something that's beyond today's understanding.
