- Complete rebuild of my son's old 20" Trek Precaliber for my younger daughter, who is now ready for this bike. New paint, cables, brake levers, shifter, and grips. Plus fresh grease in BB and headset bearings make it feel like new.
A fitting video for Father's Day! Happy Father's Day!

Never thought I’d be jealous of a 6 years old girl’s bike, yet here we are. 😍
With that smooth paint job and those lovely tanwalls, that looks fantastic!
😆😆
Inspiring Father's Day content, well done
Haha. A timely video release
Put a 24´ rigid fork (to raise the front of the bike) with 2.4 section Vee-tyre with low pressure inside. It’s lighter and more reliable than the usual 20’ suspension fork.
The only good 20’ suspension fork is the manitou but it’s not cheap and not v-brake compatible.
Ah! And my little Lou validate this beautiful unicorn pouch.😊
Dont apologize for your girl liking pink. Even if you had pushed gender roles in her, that is normal and healthy. The concept of gender roles evolved for a reason
This. People are so terrified of rightly reinforcing gender norms in their children.
That bike looks fantastic now. I hope your daughter enjoys it!
She’s been wanting to go more often, so it’s a success
this is awesome! i'm about to purchase a precaliber for my 6 year old daughter. i come from more of a bmx background and i'm thinking a nice bmx street tire would be cool on this setup.
Happy Father's Day sir
Thx! Likewise!
Hope she really love the bike. Looks great (like new). Did you do anything to the gears/cassette or the derailleur other than clean and lube.
Rim brakes will be fine, light bike and not an Ebike. Explain what you wanted for the fork.
I remember my first bike, not nearly as nice it was red single speed, probably 24 inch. I’m now 73 and still riding, my wife and I do bike vacations in Europe (Barge and Bike) and some in the US; the Hiawatha (15 miles 10 tunnels 1st tunnel 1.661 miles) and Coeur d’ Alenes (50 miles downhill)Trails in Idaho this July. Love your channel. We are not hard core cyclists just tourists on bikes 20 - 50 miles in a day. I also listen to you on “Path less Pedaled” channel.
It looks like he replaced the freewheel with a new one.
Just cleaned and re lubed the drivetrain. Great to be riding into your 70’s! 💪💪
Same one, just took off the dork disc 😀
Awesome 👌🏻
I did something simular (without new paint job) and went with schwalbe billy bonkers in 20“ tanwall. Faster rolling and enough traction for our area.
Great job, the bike looks great.
I have a question, from where did you get the tires?
How did the diy spray paint and 2k clear coat hold up after 30 days? 🤔
Amazing job, any idea where to get a replacement headset and spacers?
24" BMX forks can have an axle to crown ~370mm. Which would be "a look" as well as bomb proof and in the ballpark for a 20" fork with 75-100mm travel?
Looks fancy AF! What a great looking kids bike! Amazing!
interesting crank arms. Also same with my 6 year old daughter, we never tried to guide her to girly stuff or pink, but pink is actually now her favorite color.
Great make over, a totally different bike now
The bike looks GREAT. Just be careful of overly anal marketing departments. I've heard of people getting cease and desist orders from a big brand after customizing a bike and then putting the big brand's logo back on the bike. In other words, no good deed goes unpunished.
What bike companies… Ferrari??
Good job man.
Happy fathers day and great job making other dad’s look meh
Ha! Not the intent. Happy Father’s Day 😀
I was thinking the same thing. The subfloor of my house is a graveyard of kids bikes. I could re spray some frames and give them away I guess. Thanks for the content!❤
looks dope AF!
Looks amazing! You said in the last video you had read about different curing times for the clear coat. How long did you end up letting it cure for ?
After a few days I could still run my fingernail across it and kind of dent the clearcoat. After 2 weeks, it seems fully cured. Super hard coat
@@TheBikeSauce thanks!
A trigger shifter would be a good upgrade. I've always found that the grip shifters didn't work well.
She's going to lose her mind! 😍 What a beauty of a bike. Major parent points. 👍🏼💪🏼😄
You and your wife are such awesome parents!

Hi. I just changed my doghter 20 inch fork to a Ridgid one I ordered from AliExpress. I believe that the geometry didn't changed much. The tube length is 17 cm so it was almost the length of the old suspension fork.
V brake and bolt on axle?
@@TheBikeSauce yep. And the weight is like 1200 grams less. I will look for the link
@@yoavsteinman9235 Did you ever find that link? Please share if you can. Thanks.
did you also get TPU tubes? I believe they make them for 20". I'm planning/thinking for my 5yr old on how to lighten the bike.
What a beautiful little build
Looks great!
