The coolant will boil because operating temperature is between 195F and 215F. What prevents it from boiling is the pressure in the system. Do you find yourself adding coolant often?
@@pierrerepair86 basically the coolant escapes and I noticed that it pushed out the coolant return hose due to the pressure. Had it tested with gas leak colour additive and it was positive. @seemaab if it’s tested negative, air in the system might cause the boiling. I would add coolant while the engine is cold and running. Remove the radiator cap/high pressure coolant reservoir cap, add coolant as the engine is slowly reaching operating temperature. The coolant will go down while the thermostat starts opening. That really sucks cause most shops will try to get more out of you even if it’s just a leak from one of the hoses or pumps. Try and trace the leak back to the source and if it’s a cracked hose or a loose clamp that’s a super easy and cheap fix which is what it sounds like. I would still recommend spending money to go to a shop though cause there’s so much little bs that can happen from a small problem it’s best to get a professional opinion.
Guys, i need to know something. It sounds like i have a hole in my exhaust, but when i checked there is no hole and the sound seems to be coming from the front of car (Engine Area) And there is foam in my radiator when my car is idling. However my engine oil is normal, my car drives fine. Do u guys think maybe it is Head gasket?
If temp gauge goes up and down, you have air pockets in cooling system. It could be some trapped air from not bleeding when filling up the coolant or exhaust gases going into cooling system. When the air or exhaust gas passes by the coolant temp sensor, it will cause a spike in temperature and causes your coolant gauge to read high
I was told to do this on a warm engine. But can you do it on a cold engine? When I do it on a warm engine, coolant vapors enter the block tester and may show a false positive.
You need to do it when the engine is cold. I don't know which kit you're using, it's better to follow their instructions. Your leak may be really small. Does it consume coolant?
I would check the temperature sensor. It may be malfunctioning. Does this happen all the time or is it intermittent? The thermostat could also contribute to this. Please subscribe if you haven’t already.

If it looks like milkshake, you have coolant mixing with oil. It could be a bad head gasket, cracked head etc.

Yes. When the cooling system is not under pressure when hot, the coolant might boil and overflow.
