RESTORING 1830-40’s Sausage Stuffer ( Authentic Barn Find )
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 жов 2024
- In this Restoration Video I restored an Antique Sausage Stuffer which was made around the 1840s. Is registered : " Boston & Worcester " and " Nourse Mason & Co. " .
Being a sausage stuffer of almost 200 years old , I can assure you that the restoration was very challenging .
It's a long restoration video, so I divided the video into mini chapters, and in each chapter you can learn new things about the restoration field.
After the restoration , the sausage stuffer was tested. I made some delicious sausages and I also cooked them.
Enjoy the restoration video and I hope you like the sausage stuffer !
Cheers , David !

No one has watched this entire video yet
I did
19min still watching tho.☕️😏
All that copper must have cost a small fortune….
I don't bother watching the entire video, I just skip to the end and have a quick glance at the final result.
@Vandal_Savage this don’t help us , but you are free to do whatever you want…
I don't understand why I find these types of videos so relaxing, I love them
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed so much 😊
Because you, like me can't do such a task and like it when a person re builds repairs or recreates an item. You might have the skill. but not the same hardware as him. I simply do not even know how to throw a bird house together. I love seeing the process and it is very tranquil
Maybe it has the same effect as seeing your clothes tumbling around inside a washing machine, or watching your pizza getting reheated in a microwave. You just know the result will be good.
Because It is.
Yes . Me too
I have virtually no skills in his range yet I appreciate the dedication to his craft and the detail of his solutions. Love the no talking, no background music, no nonsense attitude. Just focus on the process and the outcome. The result as always is very flattering to the original design. Great job! 👍
Thanks a lot for your lovely words 👍
@@RustyDust101 What is worse is I know exactly how to do it, but I can't do it this well. The video makes it look easy. I can assure you it is not that easy to get it right. My father worked with metal his whole life. Even seeing things made in person, I could never do the steps as well as Dad did them or in this video. Blacksmithing like Dad did, can seem like magic when you see what metal stock can be turned into. It is staggering how much you need to know. Sure now you can search for anything. For my Dad he just had to know it. No time to look through books. It has to be in your head.
Honoring "Ordinary Sausage" you sir got my respect
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoy 😊
When I saw that pop up I was so happy
Just by looking at them i know, that these were a 5/5. Judging by the consistency of the stuffing woulde have probably been 2 Mark Ruffalos since there wont be a lot of spraying
If he’d have just topped it with shredded sour cabbage and maybe a small dish of spicy mustard. 😂
Mate, I'll probably keep saiyng it at every video that yours is one of the best restoration channels, there are lots of channels where they strech the lengh of the videos wasting times and adding useless steps, but you are staright forward, no waste of time, just great restorations. And PLUS u are using a Moretti with those sausages??? U desereve a gold metal Pal, keep going with your great job. Love it.
Thanks a lot for your lovely words 🥰🤗 cheers and wish you all the best
Fantastic restoration and the sausages look delicious.
They looks and taste great 😊 thanks a lot and glad you liked it
The amount of tools, knowledge, and experience required to expertly restore items like this is incredible!
Fantastic video, thanks for sharing.
Thanks a lot and glad you write these lovely words 🥰 cheers
As I said before You are an artist! I love watching your craftmanship!
Thank you very much Carl 😊
I live between Boston and Worcester in Massachusetts, what a cool piece of my hometown history!
Awesome , you should be proud . Cheers 🍻
He would def give this five mark ruffalos 😂 great work, was very fun to watch!
Thanks a lot for your time , I know is a long video. Cheers
What's he got to do with it?
Your machining skills are top notch.
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed so much 😊
I'm always surprised by the amount of tools and machines that he has, but today, I think that this video shows a bunch more of them. A counting of how many tools you use on each restoration would be fun. Maybe have watchers guess how many were used in each video.
Amazing work, as always!
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed 😊wish you all the best
i was really annoyed when the notification popped up while i was busy
but after watching for a bit i remembered how much i appreciate your work
just finished watching the cylinder building part, now onto the restoration
Thanks a lot for your time and for the feedback too. Hoping was a good video for your time 😊 cheers
@jamesc9327 thank you very much for your lovely words 😊 cheers 🇺🇸👍
i'm gonna have to give this sausage stuffer restoration, a five outta five!
bo bo bo, ba ba. 5/5
😅 thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed
Igaz, hogy ez csak egy egyszerű, alapvető munka, de a felújítás nagyon igényes, gyönyörű, minőségi megoldásokkal!
A szakértelem / anyagismeret kiemelkedő!
Nagyon precíz kezeid vannak! ! !
Sajnos nagyon kevés ilyen alkotás látható.
Thank you very much for your lovely words 😊🤗 wish you all the best
I have been following you for a while and must say, you are getting better and better. You have real talent.
Thanks a lot for your lovely words and for your support 😊 cheers
I watched the whole movie from start to finish without missing a second. You have restored this sausage making machine I think better and more beautiful than the factory. Congratulations!
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed 😊
You did a fabulous job. Loved the close-ups of the copper turning. Great end result, and the sausages looked so good!
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed it 😊 many thanks
I love the attention to details that you put into your work. I always think you make beautiful restorations.
Thank you for showing us this piece ❤
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed 😊
Don't know what I enjoyed the most, your awesome restoration or the awesome sausages you cooked. ❤
Thank you very much and glad you enjoyed 🥰
Truly a work of art. This plays less as a restoration video and more of a documentary. Your camera and editing work is fantastic
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed 😊
I've probably watched 18 Zillion restoration videos on UA-cam.... This is the best one I've seen yet.
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed it so much 😊 cheers
I really appreciate you explaining what and why you’re using certain products and your processes ❤
You are so welcome!
Thank you sir for another amazing Restoration. Watching the roller bend the copper sheet reminded me of making pasta for lasagne. Thankfully, copper can be resold. Hard to watch a giant tube of copper turned into a hollow tube. ps: the sausages looked amazing. I hope you hold onto that sausage stuffer as you will be the hit of the next backyard grilling party. Thank you again for always taking us along with you as you restore interesting historical items.
Thank you very much Greg and glad you enjoyed so much 😊 cheers 🍻
Bamp, bamp, bamp.....bamp........bamp! Love the "Ordinary Sausage" shout out!
Thanks and glad you liked it 😊
Шикарно! Токарные работы особенно с медью супер!👍
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed 👍
I love your work. It gives us a picture of how things used to look when brand new, that not everything looked dull.
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed 😊
"Well, hey there, folks! Welcome back ... I guess?"
My favourite channel! No taking, just repair sounds. Amazing skills as always. Thank you for sharing 🙏🏻
Thanks a lot for your lovely words 😊 cheers
Excellent restoration and amazing craftsmanship!!
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed 😊
i really appreciate your use of machinists ink and high contrast markings. i do this too and ive been accused of "scribbling" on stuff when it mostly helps keep track of whats been done. beautiful work! i see the softness in the black-brown powdercoat. its subtle, but its better than a jet black. super cool video!
Thank you very much and glad you enjoyed 😊 wish you all the best
Wow, did not expect an Ordinary Sausage reference in my subscriptions from this side of youtube 🌭
And you glad you received?😬
Of course ❤
Thanks a lot for that 🤗
Really enjoyed watching this video, and the wide variety of impressive tools and techniques being used! Really like projects which use a delicate amount of powder paint, to keep the definition too. Thank you so much! 😊
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed so much 😊 cheers
Правельные руки! Респект!
Thanks a lot for that 😊
Bringing historic items back to life by restoring them and then using said item is outstanding! You are a true craftsman. Thanks for sharing your skills with us, and I could almost smell those sausages! YUM.. 😃
Thank you very much and glad you enjoyed 😊 cheers
Thanks for flicking the end of the casing for us 😂
😂
I love this guy's work! Such good quality and great video production! 10/10, would rewatch again!
Thank you very much for that 😊 cheers

Thanks a lot 🙏
My Mechanics, Restoration Station, The Fabrik...... And Cool Again. The very best.
Thanks a lot and glad I’m on your favorite list of restoration channels 😊👍
I would include Tysy Tube, Hand Tool Rescue, and AJ Restorations.
@@pfcparis Nothing can't beat Hand Tool Rescue's intro, or blasting cabinet head bumps for that matter
I would also add Mister Patina and Forgotten Shine Restoration
@@UScarsinSweden don't forget Mister Beer too!
Awesome job you did restoring the sausage stuffer. You even made a new sausage tank out of copper and a new nozzle for sausage casing. It looks much better and it works like a charm too. Excellent work I must say.
Thanks a lot George and glad you enjoyed so much 😊
finaly a new video! NICE!!
Yes , took me so long to make it but I guess you find out why … thanks for the support
A well-deserved cold beer and delicious meal after another excellent restoration. I like how you drilled out along the circumference of the inside space and then used the spindle sander to smooth everything out!
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed my work 😊 cheers 🍻
$829?! For an incomplete item in desperate need of repair? You got scammed harder than in Detroit lombard.
Rare pieces are pricey
I can cut a famous art work in hafe and sell each piece for a fortune
@Dr_Gears true 😊
What is it worth now? You could have taken measurements from the original, made a complete clone, and still have the tool in it's original condition.
@@Dr_Gears it's still overpriced as hell. I can get a tsarist one from middle of XIX century in better condition and complete for a less than a quarter of the price.
I tried searching for pricing on this item. It is kind of rare. I saw one listed that was in good shape, just missing the meat holder part that you made for $400. So, $829 seems like a lot for the one you bought. On the other hand, I did not find a complete working model anywhere. If there are collectors out there for this thing, a complete working model might go for quite a bit of cash. I think a lot of viewers would be interested in a price, if you sell it.
I'm going to make sausages right now for breakfast....Absolute brilliant restoration...you are indeed a master sir..cheers!
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed 😊 Bon appetite 👍🍻
Beer and sausage. Ended the video perfect.
Anyway, as usual you're work are amazing. Worth to wait. The length of the video just perfect. I love it. Really worth to wait you're next work.
It just perfect my day. What a gift for my birthday. Thank you.
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed! Happy birthday 🎉🎁🎂🎊🎈
@@CoolAgainRestoration Thank you so much. Blessed you.
Wow. In terms of man hours, this must surely be your biggest restoration yet. I can imagine some accountant watching this in disbelief 😂
Another fantastic job, I won’t ever grow tired of watching these 👍🏻
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoy my videos . Wish you all the best 😊
Awesome work. Very Relaxing to watch. ☕️😎👍💯
Thank you very much 😊
I watched the entire video and I thought it was great! I lived in Worcester MA. and our family would go down to central street and watch them make sausages using that tool and it brought me back to the old times in the 50s to the 70s.
Awesome 👏 thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed
Everyone likes sausage but none wants to see them made
I think you did an awesome job and you have stellar skills! There are many people who wish they could do what you do. Congrats!
Thanks a lot for your lovely words 😊 cheers
Absolutely magnificent restoration. I'll brave the statement, best restoration I've ever seen, well done.
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed so much 😊
That was an amazing restoration, but your skills in making that beautiful copper cylinder made it that much more amazing!
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed so much 😊
Simply Superb and such skilful attention to detail. Who would have thought that all of that could be applied to a humble sausage stuffer.
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed so much 😊 wish you all the best
Dude! That was just fanTAStic to watch 😍. Tbh, I was almost saddened when you got to the rebuild 'coz there wouldn't be anymore resto-ing to do 😁. But it was okay 'coz you had to double-back and make the tube, and then the stuffing/cooking was also fab to watch 👍. Top work Mr. Cool Again, and a great choice of project 👊👊👊. Thanks man 🙏. Reeaally enjoyed it. 😎
Thank you very much and glad you enjoyed . Wish you all the best , many thanks again 😊🍻
Outstanding restoration!! Love that finish on the copper tube... bet those sausages tasted great
Yeah , tasted great 😌 thanks a lot
I watched it all the way through and tried to eat my monitor at the end! That is the coolest sausage stuffer I have seen!
Yes it is 😊 thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed 👍
Beautiful 1840s restoration❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️, I wish there were more artifacts from that exact time period.
I will find them all 😎
@@CoolAgainRestoration Yeah, more 1840s👍👍👍👍👍
I make sausage at home, I try to use all of my "antique" utensils as much as possible. Good job on the restoration
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed 😊
Perfect! I love your work indeed, esp. When you take care of the small details ! ❤
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed 😊
I absolutely love the wide range of tools you have in your workshop. In another lifetime I would have loved to do something like this myself. The artistry with which you restore and create new parts is so fun to watch. Keep up the awesome work, really glad I found your channel!
Thank you very much . I hope one day you’ll have a workshop like mine , wish you good luck for that. Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed my work 😊 cheers
I love watching these videos, they are so relaxing but its also so nice to see old things be restored instead of thrown out :) keep up the great work
Thank you very much and glad you enjoyed 😊 cheers
10/10 for actually using the stuffer at the end of the video. The lunch made me very hungry!
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed 😊
Sir,
You are a magician, the restored product looks as if it has come from the factory, hats off to you.
Awaiting for more videos.
No words, it's really wonderful.
Thank you very much and glad you enjoyed 😊 cheers 🍻
Man what an endeavour! Im sure the original copper tube was al rolled, this is like a one million version! ❤
Probably in this way will last more than the original one 😅
You are making the best videos. I always watch them before sleep to relax my mind and let the day settle 🙏🏼
Glad to hear that 😊 wish you all the best
I simply love the sandblasted copper look 😍
Yeah , it is something new for me too , never tried before but the finish looks amazing . Glad you liked it , many thanks 😊
It is sickening how talented you are.. just unbelievable!!
Thank you very much for your lovely words 😊
That's some of the best soldering I've seen in awhile.
Thanks a lot 😊
Fantastic restoration and fabrication! It looks and works great, wonderful job!!
Thank you very much Jeffrey 😊
Outstanding! I truly look forward to your videos. Thank you very much.
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed so much 😊
You've outdone yourself David! Another beautiful and technical restoration this one was. Your attention to detail is fantastic. Your video skills and editing brings peace and joy to our hearts. Bravo my friend, bravo. God bless you and your family and take care! ♥️🙏🏼
Thank you very much and glad you enjoyed . Wish you all the best ❤️
just outstanding machining! Great job!
Thank you very much 😊
Great skillful/artful restoration. Really enjoy your restoration projects. Have a great day.
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed 😊
Dang, a day late but not a dollar short! I was impressed with the "sausage rocket". 😋😋😀😀 As always you leave no stone unturned. I am glad you replaced the wooden board. You never know what dry rot lurks inside, making your effort short lived. Now I know why you were gone so long, you had to save your pennies to buy this thing. You could have just made one! Not only my favorite restoration channel, but copper is my favorite metal. 🧡🧡 Fantastic work, my friend.
Thanks a lot my friend and glad you enjoyed so much . Wish you all the best 🤗😎
Brilliant great trade skills a joy to watch. Thank you 🎉❤
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed 😊
still the best item restoration channel for me
Thanks a lot for that 😊
My father was a welder, blacksmith, and metal worker. He also made wine and something called Grappa. It is made from all the leftover stuff when you press the grapes to make wine. It is kind of a grape flavor brandy, or you can use it for jet fuel. It is optional. He made his own still out of copper. it was before I was born, but I am guessing he used some of your techniques shown here. It was not junk, like you see moonshiners use. It was a really well made item. Made with skill and craftmanship. The meat tank process you did must be similar to how he made his still parts. Very interesting video.
Thanks a lot . If he made Grappa , he must be Italian right ? Grappa is very popular in Italy 🇮🇹
@@CoolAgainRestoration Yup. From the region North of Venice. At the family compound in Italy they make wine, salami, cheese, Capacola and Grappa. My father was one of six. Only craftsman. During his lifetime he pretty much worked on just about anything you can think of made with metal. From a horseshoe to a bridge, to a big freight carrying ship.
@robinblackmoor8732 awesome , I was several times in Venice because I lived in Ravenna , it’s near Venice. Awesome 👏
I'm always blown away by your ability to remake the missing parts. Nicely done. 👍
Thank you very much 👍
The way you made cylinder and bent steel. Soldered it etc. wow
Phenomenal piece of work. Congratulations on another job well done 👌
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed 😊
I'm finally getting to watch this all the way through and so far really good I love it!
Thank you very much 😊
I was already subscribed for a while, but when I saw Kaiser on your food cutter video, I already had an eyebrow up, then on the cheese cutter video, I saw the wire description: "Oțel Inoxidabil" - You made me proud, and hopeful we still have many, many people passionate and dedicated to create things that can stand the test of time and value! 5 milioane de abonați vă doresc!
Iti super mulțumesc 😊
Omg!! You did a fantastic job on this Sausage Stuffer. You are a genius! If you even sell this to some lucky person, show them this video and they can see all the work you put into it. Bless you.
Thanks a lot and glad you enjoyed so much . Cheers 🍻

Really impressive result - and that was a lot of work! Quite a lot of copper milling to flush out all those missing parts. The result looks great - and so do those sausages! 👍
Thank you very much Fred 👍
What a wonderful restoration and machining 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you very much 😊🤗
Excellent custom lathe and milling. Going the extra mile. Well done Sir 👏
