Thanks you fine people! ♥
In this Restoration Video I restored an Antique Sausage Stuffer by "Follows & Bate" from Manchester, UK.
These stuffers were made something between 1880 and 1920.
I bought it from England, when i received the Sausage Stuffer, it was in a bad, but mostly functional condition.
Some teeth were broken, and the Stuffer Tube was missing.
The restoration process shows 3 chapters:
- the restoration of the main frame
- the restoration of shafts and gears
- the restoration of the food-grade parts
in every chapter you will see a lot of techniques: sandblasting, powder coating, filing, sanding, making new parts, nickel plating, hot bluing, welding, and many more!
After the restoration the Sausage Stuffer was tested and works pretty well again!

What should I restore next? Tell me what you want to see!
Oh and make sure to hit the like & subscribe if you enjoyed 🙂
A vintage meat grinder or a vintage ice shaver machine
A Grease Gun. This time the fun one ;)
A sextant would be so great to see; but I guess this would cost to much even if it’s used and old 😅
Aratro
A lawnmower. Internal combustion engines might be a bit tricky though...
Great channel by the way 👍
The stanley knife on the lathe was genius!
100% agree!
Remember in the old internet days when "You've got mail" brought a smile to your face and eager anticipation to what was in it? Thats what I get when I see a new video from the Michelangelo of restorations......
Haha, thank you so much! I really appreciate your support! 🙂👍
Another exceptional restoration. No corners cut. No "fake" restoration stuff. Just solid hard work and attention to detail. Nicely done, as always!
Thanks! I really appreciate!
My father was a welder and a blacksmith. He worked with machinists. I spent a lot years around these people. Your techniques are really good. i never see anything that seems wrong in your videos. You do everything just as it is supposed to be done. I think my father would have liked restoring things with you. People that know how this kind of work should be done, know you do it very well.
I’ve read a lot of comments but yours really honors me! Thanks for your honest words and I would love to have a cold one with you and your dad!
Thanks! Really motivating! ❤️
The guy who inveted the wurst: 'Lets shred that beast and force press it into his own intestine' Genius and madman at the same time.
You would like the movie The Green Butchers.
Quote: "... there's something mythological about killing an animal, and then mocking it by stuffing it into its own bowl. Could You imagine anything more humiliating than being stuffed up Your own arse?"
Just can´t get enough of these perfect restorations.
Love that you restore original wooden components whenever you can.
A brave man to weld on cast. I really enjoyed seeing the precision brass bushings and the rest of the work making it mechanically sound.
I hope you know some hunters and get to make some wild sausages.
Thanks! I used special cast iron electrodes, and there shouldn’t be any problems because of preheating.
Ok. Das Schmatzen am Ende hat mich gekillt 🤣 Wundervoll restauriertes Bratwurstmachgerät. ❤
Haha, danke!
Okay, now I'm hungry 😋
Cheers
Your attention to the details is unique (like centering the hole). It makes your channel stand out from others on UA-cam. Congratulations on your work. Keep your dedication on projects as high as you always do.
Cheers from Brazil!
Okay, when do I get a Bratwurst grilled??? I rate this restoration 10/10 sausages 🌭🌭🌭🌭🌭🌭🌭🌭🌭🌭
My doors always open for the beerded man and his wife.
Be sure, you’ll get your sausage.
Wow. Not only a great restoration but you improved it. Awesome
Really enjoyed that .... who knew an old sausage machine could be a thing of beauty 😊
Top 5% of YT restoration experts. Incredible machining skills!
Hey James, thank you so much!
I am a repairman and found your videos very good, your work is very good, I really like your videos, Number one repairman, excellent work💯💯💯💯👍🙏🙏🙏
Thank you so much, I really appreciate!
That was nicely done, especially fixing the broken screw and making the brass bushings.
5:33 master of centers lol😂. I really appreciate the effort to get this piece restored to a great condition👍
sauteed onion seasoned with salt pepper in pan, steamed apple and pear, bread, your delicious sausage and a room temperature stout. I enjoyed this video.
The wood of the handle is so vibrant and rich in color! Looks awesome!
Made in England when we still had craftsmen. Thanks for the restoration.
Thank God you saved the original handle. Awesome job on this one.
Thank you so much! Iam glad you enjoyed!
The unsung genius who invented the ring spanner - and then the ratcheted ring spanner!
丁寧で細かい仕事、おそらく新品当時より精度が出ていると思う。
Veramente stupefacente il restauro e gustoso anche il seguito! 😂
Incredible absolutely incredible. Very beautiful restoration. ~Kevin
Thanks Kevin, iam glad you like it!
I'm from Manchester, so I'm glad for the local connection. Having an Austrian grandmother, I also love sausages. Double win! 😂 🇦🇹 🌭
Haha, great! Greets from Germany! 🙂
No. 1. The Larch. Great video! We need more from you and your friend, Dr. Beer.
imo, this is one of your best resto's. You are in command the whole time, make it look easy, do some good repairs with your stick welder, and the finished product FUNCTIONS! :D Love it
Thanks Diggory! I really appreciate your feedback and iam glad that you enjoyed!
Painstaking filing and finishing.
I like how you labeled the technique as you showed the video segments.
Thanks! Iam glad you enjoyed!
The "Photography" is just as beautiful as the machine and the work.
Making sausage? No thank You. I'll buy at the market.
FINALLY! Someone who knows how to use a file properly and knows it only cuts one way!
Haha, thanks!
The restoration looks great , but the brats look even better !
Haha, thanks!
You can't beat a good sausage stuffer resto!
Nothing like making your own sausage, bacon or corned beef. Satisfying.
Wunderbar! Great job! Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦
Thanks a lot! Greets from Germany!
The two things I like, the blast cabinet and powder coating!
You learn something new every day that was awesome with the Stanley knife Definitely gonna remember that one
Great restoration
My friend, I never thought I'd call a sausage stuffer beautiful, but that's just what this is - beautiful!
Well done, both on the restoration and the bratwurst!
Iam glad you like it 🙂
That sir was absolutely amazing restoration. Thanks. Take care. Tom.
Thank you so much Tom!
Your restorations are up there with the best!
Thank you so much!
Beautiful work. I love that press-fit brass. Also seeing that U knife as a tool on the lathe gave me a grin🍻
Thanks man, I’m glad you like it!
Outstanding work. Brass bushing and golden letters look great
Wow! That turned out way better than I expected! I've seen a fair number of restorations of older machines that kinda leave them in a more rustic finish so this is a real nice change of pace!
Thank you so much! Iam glad you enjoyed!
Great result, loved the video 👍
I think we have a missed opportunity to see how abrasive dead spiders are :D Thanks for another amazing video! it's always a pleasure to watch your artistry
Thanks, I’m glad you like it!
This man is a genius, I can't think of another term more fitting. And his patience and attention to detail are beyond imagination. Another superb restoration.
Thank you so much!
Your quality and detailed restoration makes you one of the best restoration channels. Keep up the fantastic work 👌
Wow, thank you so much! I really appreciate!
Insane videos as always! Attention to detail is just mind blowing...
Artistically restored. Bravo my friend!
I really like the brass bushings accenting the color scheme. Really great work once again! And now I'm hungry too.
Brilliant! years in Germany with the British army Bratty and chips were fantastic.
I love old early industrial age machines. my grandmother had a Cherry pitting machine it had a hopper on top and you turned the handle cherries came out one end and pits out another. she made the best tart cherry jam I have ever had. so, I love to see old machines like this resorted. i love that it was mostly make of cast iron. I would bet that is a heavy beast.
Hey Mr P. Love your work 👍
Ablolutly flawless restoration!
Thanks!
So beautiful!!!! Great job!!! Thank you!!!
Rio de Janeiro - 🇧🇷
i enjoyed viewing this video of the restoration of the bratwurst machine . i also enjoyed the work of the videographer.
Thanks!
That was amazing. And seeing it all restored and spiffed up made me imagine what it was like back when it was new, being used by some butcher making sausages for the shoppers... Living history at its finest.
I can totally relate! Thanks!
Or in the kitchen by a farmer's wife.
Beautiful work and satisfying watching the restoration
Thanks!
That turned out really quite nice. The bratwurst looked very good too! I miss the sausages in Germany.
Hmmmmmm, lecker Bratwurst!
Ach so, die "Wurstmaschine" und ihre Restaurierung sind auch super, wie immer.
Gruß Tino
Very nice job, Mr. Patina. Thanks for sharing.
Nice restoration...Thanks for sharing.
Superb resto. Easily as great as My Mechanics.Congratulations.
Another sick restoration! And now I'm hungry for wurst!
Absolutely superb. Your attention to detail is phenomenal. Really enjoyed this restoration. Thanks for sharing.
Iam glad you like it 🙂👍
Looks great, I missed lunch....
Seeing a gear puller used brought me back to the lovely Hell of bearing pullers for F-16 engines. Good times.
In all seriousness pullers are good tools, the engineers at General Electric just forgot to design enough purchase on the bearings for us mechanics!
Beautifully photographed, flawlessly edited. Excellent restoration. Subscribed!
Thank you so much and welcome to the channel 🙂
Now I know how the sausage is made 😎 just don’t know what the ingredients are 😂😂😂 absolutely beautiful work
Bon appétit ! 👍
What an absolutely great project. You had your work cut out for you. Great job, Kai!
Love it 😍
Thanks a lot my friend, looking forward to your next project 😉
I'm always impressed by the filming. Thanks.
Espectacular restauración, aquí en Chile a estos embutidos les decimos Longanizas, preciosa maquina, excelente trabajo de torno, arenado, pintado y galvanizado y además era también Chef.
Beautiful! I don’t know why it makes me happy when the handle gets a brass liner but it does, thanks.
You’re welcome 🙂
Superb restoration ! 😁🇨🇦
Nicely done. Can't go wrong with a "classic"!
Hello mister Patina beautifully restored your restoration is outstanding, good job well done
Thanks Vince!
Excellent restoration till perfection. Chicken sausages would be interesting, too :)
I can only imagine what it would be like to be those spiders from the beginning, trapped in a metal cylinder with no exit
Yay! Mr Patina!
I love it! And now I'm hungry...
What a beauty the outcome is!
Thanks!
Excellent restoration!!!
Thanks!
Beautiful restoration job. You even made new bushings for the holes that were worn and welded new metal to the broken gear teeth on the pinion rack. You also made a new tube for the stuffing end. It looks much better and it works like a charm too. Excellent work.
Thank you so much George!
I just ate, but now I'm hungry again. Very nice work.
Haha, thanks!
I would GLADLY be a test gerbil for the fresh bratwurst!
German food is incredible!
Always above and beyond! Gorgeous!
14:30 Aluminum Is A Food-Grade Metal. No specific alloy is mentioned.
They draw up restrictions on which materials can be used and how for food manufacturing. The good news is that aluminum is approved not only for making food but also for packing food safely.
Great job!!
It looks beautiful and you did a marvelous job restoring it as well!!!!
I enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up
Very cool, and surprisingly as useful as any modern day sausage stuffer.
Another great restoration, thank you. In English, the process of moving the lathe cutter across the surface of the piece to clean and level it is called 'skimming'. A nice Old Norse word! Best wishes from Manchester UK - where this excellent sausage stuffing machine was made!
Thank you so much! As a non native speaker I’m always happy to get some hints like that!
Greets to Manchester!
Really nice, I thought it was a medieval cannon, really love the powder coating 😍
Haha, thanks!
Better than new - what a great restoration.
I love the passion and craftsmanship!
Nice work!🎉
