Hey Tom, I'm loving the variety in your content. The coupe, the Chev, the pickup road trip, whatever. It's always entertaining and informative. Keep it coming. Cheers.
G'day from West Australia, Tom😉 Gotta love it when panels just work. After of course careful cutting with a tape line, very cool. As to parts from America, yep faster than parts from our own State's most times. Sad really 😶 Cool progress for the tri5 rub and paint😉🙂👍👍
Cheers Steve! thanks for watching mate , yes it took twice as long for a grease gun hose to arrive for me from Melbourne than for this package to come from the US )
Love Summit - when the $ was really good, I got lots of stuff from them for my XE Ute (gauges, shifters etc) , instead of Rocket! But now that fun is over, its Rocket or VPW usually these days. You made that install look dam easy haha.
Yeah the dollar sucks right now ! Thanks mate, it went relatively smoothly, but the video cuts things short obviously , lots of dirty work cutting stuff out , getting through all that underseal etc
Makes it easy when you get re-po panels from from companies in the the states like Danchuks or Year One who have great products, it makes yours or your customers car a quality finish.
Thanks Tom for the grouse videos on the 57. I"m getting ready to do similar to my 55 with the Ridetech 4 bar and mini tubs. I"m thinking that the chassis really needs notching at the same time to allow for some decent rear suspension travel. Interested in your thoughts on that?
Thanks for the comment Glenn , not sure about the notching, I havnt looked at it for a while but we will see once i continue with the build, i have seen other videos of these installed and thye seem to work fine as is
@@phatridesgarage3760 the bottom part can be the same, the only difference is the top rod. You could still use the four link brackets. You just need to make it go two into one (a triangle) on the top, that way you can get more rotation of the diff for things like pot holes. Alternately you could still do a four link but bring the top mounts in close like a HQ - HZ diff. I would still go the 3 because it is rotating around a centre point.
@@phatridesgarage3760 it won't let me post links, but do a search for 3 link. It is just like a 4 link but the top link is like an A arm that can rotate left and right, whereas the 4 link is kind of boxed, great for drag racing but not good for a real road. The three link gives you all of the advantages of a 4 link, but gives it much better street manners.
Short and sweet luv what your doing with ol war horse such cool cars r u going to do any suspension upgrades that big block looks fit to go in Auto or manual watching street out laws Geoff lutz on there wrecked his beautiful yellow big tyres monster in a big way ☹️ he’s lucky to alive those safety cages r mega👍
Cheers Karl, yes I watched some of Jeff Lutz"s videos too. pity about his yellow 57, at least hes ok . I watched a couple of videos on his street car also ,and I got the same chassis strengthening kit he has. My ideas for suspension are eventually maybe Ride tech strong arms up front and Ive Already ordered a 4 link from Pro 9 here in Australia. Thought about buying one of those mail order kits and decided against it. Not sure if a 4 link is going to be ok but lifes about trying things i guess
It wasnt too rusty, it was the result of a badly repaired rusty floor if you know what I mean. Lots of old patchs that were more evident from the underside. and a little dinged up. Plus it made things a lot easier for me to cut it out and start with a floor that was already made to match the bigger tubs , all around ends up looking better
Cheers mate! The benefits of the spot welder is the time saved. If I was to plug weld it, I would drill or punch each hole, plug weld each hole, and then have to grind/sand the weld flush again. So the Spot welder saves on labor and mess basically . Thanks for watching mate

Nothing like a blown chevy
You got that right 👍😂
Not cold? ☃️
haha no never cold
Tek screws is the name you were looking for. I'd go 3 link before I went 4 link for the street. Give you much better street suspension.
UA-cam seem to hate you pasting links they delete the post...
haha yeah thats right tek screws) actually I just bought a 4 link from Pro 9, hope it wont ride like crap then

Just to give it the factory look make sure the spot welds are as uneven as possible. Like every manufacturer seems to.
Sure David I know what you mean, I do that without even trying haha)
was the boot floor to rusty or did you replace it for the sake of just replacing it

what benefits did you find with spot welding ?
learning heaps
