I went through a similar situation but as a job seeker. Got an good offer, problem solved. I was hesitant to sign because I had a terrible feeling with the manager being cold ,stiff and seemed to be a pain to deal with. I was in a process to get interviewed for another job offering way more money and seemed more easy going. I took the risk to end up with nothing and did not sign the offer letter because backing off is unprofessional to me. I'd rather keep searching than accept a job offer I have a bad feeling about.
I had this. Cept mine was internal. Small office that was shared with another team. I was saying no until they offered me a pay increase which was $5000 increase for the year. I spoke to the people I know too. I had the opportunity to take the offer or stay in my current role. I asked if I can come back to my old role. He pretty much said no. I literally thought, I feel like i wont last in this role. It was like a debt collector and telemarketing role. It sounded awful. I got a vibe from the team that they were not happy. Decider to decline the offer. Was wandering if I should have taken it and if I made a mistake. Thank you for the validation

What if you signed an offer and seen a new position at the same company for the exact type of job offering 7 dollars more per hour? This popped up 2 days after I signed. 😮
Dude I was in a similar situation…. Got an offer that was $45k more (plus a $12k sign-on) than what I make now. I signed the letter, but was still interviewing at another company. The second company offered also $45k more, but total comp included better bonus and stocks… however two different roles…. one is a Director Role and the other was a Principal Role. Haven’t decided which way to go yet….
@@GlitZnGold Took the Associate Director role, still hands on from an Enterprise Architecture perspective. Figure this will help set me up better from where I want to go long term. But will only give this place 2 yrs then evaluate if I will look for another job or stay. The role I took was at a Big 4 and that was also a factor.

I was working for job B previously for 4 years so i have seniority there if i take that while Job A is a brand new company. With all those factors said, which one would you take, Job A or B ????
i always feel ashamed when i listen the values per year you guys can get.. i am fighting to get 10 times less than that and if i get i would feel extremelly rich. each country with so much diferent salaries.
I need to be very clear that these numbers are way more than what I was really offered. Also, there is no reason to feel ashamed, the salary you are offered can depend on so much more than your skill level. It can depend on the company, the country and more such factors which are completely out of your control.

I know html, css, js, sass, react, typescript, (obviously npm, git) . I just need a number for a first job as frontend web developer, my expectations a couple hours ago were 12k per year but I don't want to be underpaid for my lack of knowledge in the remote salaries or for my minimalist life. I wish you the best ! I’m about to rescind an offer as well ! It was my first real offer and I was too excited and I singed a offer letter(I know .. mistake). The other company called me after I emailed them telling I have an offer . They moved very fast an expedited the entire process . They told me to finish the process until Tuesday saying I’m their top candidate. I learned to wait it out . Also life is too short not to do what you want. My friend’s mom died today after being a seemingly healthy woman last week. She had a stroke , went brain dead , and died all within 24 hours. She was 42 That experience let me know that life is too short to work at places you don’t want to. Just know you are not alone in this .. my rescind day is coming Tuesday .
@Domo it went fine .. wasn’t as a big as a deal as people make it out to be . They were basically like “we were looking forward to having you and we understand and respect your personal decision. Was there something we did in the hiring process that could help us improve? “ that was basically it .
I prefer the most ergonomic approach for the given problem. If I find that the problem is too cumbersome to solve in sql then I will just do it in code. In most cases there is hardly a difference in performance, of course there are cases where there are differences and in that case its important to use the more efficient approach. As a general rule of thumb, do what comes easiest to you to get the problem solved, and then when and if and only if there is a perf issue think about how to more efficient. Make it work, make it right, make it fast. This should always be your order.
I always give candidates 24 hours to make a decision to get them shit or get off the pot to prevent candidates from being flakey. The lesson is to make up your mind before the offer.

depends on where you live to an extent, but can be 35k to 50k a year
