Welcome back friends! This episode is based on my favorite healer this patch, the one, the only, Heal alacrity scourge! It is an extremely potent healer! A common misconception is that it cannot overheal well. That is WRONG. Good barrier means you can heal the other sub MORE. If your first sub is barrier protected it makes it easier for heals to spill into the next sub. That being said swiftness and stability are applied weirdly and im hoping anet make them easier to apply. Taking a herald with you makes your team unkillable! Thanks everyone! I play a similar build, the only the really different is I take a Staff with Soul Marks instead of Unyielding Blast, and with F1, F2, Desiccate and Serpent Siphon I have enough Might Generation, and enough Life Force to basically just press all my Shades off of Cool Down. Did not realize that Warhorn 5 also Healed my Allies too, I will need to Weapon Swap more often. Overall, I think Heal Scourge has become one of my new Fav Healers of Choice, and if you go with either a Quick Brand or a Quick Herald then the lack Aegis or Stab is not that bad, and has been absolute Clutch still on Boneskinner groups or other Instants where groups can get downed to a bad mechanic.
Serpent Siphon is definitely not mandatory. You want to bring it along with Trail of Anguish for many fights where aegis and stab are very useful, but otherwise you can swap it for something else. Spectral Grasp can be taken for more CC, Corrosive Poison Cloud for blocking projectiles, Sand Swell for kiting and mobility etc. In general heal Scourge allows more freedom in utility skills than for example heal alac druid. The only problem I have is that there is really no elite skill that would be particularly useful, so you take fleshgolem for additional CC, Ghastly Breach if boonstrip/additional might is required and/or when you don't need CC.
There is no secondary utility that you can take that is better or performs better than serpent siphon. You have one free utility slot already to fit something else. Serpent siphon provides might via barrier trait, aegis, barrier, condi cleanses, and regen all in one cast. It's value is much too high and unless you absolutely NEED to have two specific utilities to the encounter then I cannot in good confidence reccomend the general public remove serpent siphon for something else. If necro utility got buffed even further I'd be inclined to agree but as of now while technically you do not need it, it's probably a net loss to remove it unless you have a specific purpose. 😉
One thing I'm still a bit fuzzy on regarding how heal scourge works, and hopefully someone can explain. My understanding is the heal scourge is there primarily to provide barrier.. not actual heals. So the emphasis on plus heal stats, what all does that affect, exactly? Do heal stats affect barrier in some way? Or is it just there for Well of Blood, and for the bit of regen provided by Serpent Siphon?
@@Oatmeal-Savage f4 also heals a good amount, and you dont need serpent sipphon for regen. just dodge, you will place the mark from staff2 that grants regen. safe serpent sipphon for aegis.
Hi! I've tried it and it's my favourite healer as well. I use staff instead of dagger/WH though, cause I was thinking: how does dagger heal other allies?
Dagger provides life force generation which you will need when you are spamming your shades skills. Warhorn has some decent healing attached to it, albeit not great some is better than none.
@@evilkamatis542 That's right, I also use marks to generate life force and give perma regeneration, which also gives a good heal, and never had problem. But since I have seen many videos of ppl using dagger I was wondering if it could somehow heal allies.
@@evilkamatis542 Staff 2 doesn't actually provide more healing, it just gives regen, which you will have plenty of already. Pro tip dodge rolling actually gives the same mark! Also torch is very important for might and cc!

Could work but its better to focus Because dps stats are not really significant - you lack the traits to do dps Therefore while it works (boon should be ok - healing could be better tbh) its preferable to make dedicated gear (harrier, minstrel, giver) - whatever you prefer (tanking or not) But to have celestial gear is never a bad idea for a good open world/wvw scourge/harbinger
Quick mention, on ashcg you DO NOT need Siphon nor WH5 to provide alacrity to your subgroup. Which means you can replace those for much better options like tp, cc or signet or simply ignoring SH5 in your rotation most of the time. :) (This is in the case aegis is not required obv)
I agree. You can use BiP to generate more might and than dessicate and signet of undeath for revive and lifeforce generation. Anyway i think using siphon is a must for the protection uptime it provides.
You need Serpent Siphon most of the time because of aegis. If the fight doesn't require you to go aegis you can obviously take more CC or even minions for additional dps. Signet is kinda pointless, bc dagger heal Scourge has more than enough life force to freely spam all shade abilities and fully cap the life force.

hello how do you make the hp Bars of your Allies so visible? i always struggle as healer to keep track of how much hp my allies have.
Just choose options stay on this and they are futher down
What overlay are you using where it shows "HELP" above a player low on health?

Every healer use Harrier if want do Raids. Minstrel if do only fractal/WvW.

The alac dps is quite good too. Decent dps with the usual Scourge utility.

Lack of permanent swiftness or superspeed makes this a good choice but not the best. As a war main I hate this build.
If your heal scourge is a good friend, he can use relic of Febe for perm swiftness. But I agree anet need to buff warhorn or trail of anguish.

it's all about the life force generation.
Dagger provides life force generation which you will need when you are spamming your shades skills. Warhorn has some decent healing attached to it, albeit not great some is better than none.
@@Oatmeal-Savagei also use staff for more heal from skill 2 and the thing is i never ran out of life force even though im button smashing.

You can use full plague doctor for more dmg and lifeforce pool

Yes, and it will heal more the more enemies that are around you.
