@obsessionwithangling I live in central Scotland, and as far as im aware, there are not many barbel up this way. That river you fish just looks amazing for both barbel and tench!

How do you rig pop ups for barbel? Long hook lengths ect! Fantastic video by the way , some fish in that river wow !" Need to go and have a session on there , any advise on a ticket session late autumn ,where to go ect 👌👍

Congrats Lee. I have the stretch opposite the A1 pits stretch on the Worksop book. You can only night fish it if you are affiliated at a club they list. Noticed your peg flow was left to right which would indicate this bank but not at all interested in your whereabouts as I fish mainly the tidal Trent as I don’t like crowds and generally have the stretch to myself. Once again we’ll done on your pb what a beast 👍

Absolutely cracking fish , I’ve just got home after a 48 hour session on the a1 pits stretch of the river and only had 4 bream, and a nice pike, any tips for the Trent ?

I fish my local River Clyde here in Glasgow, Scotland and I've caught Sea Trout, Brown Trout, Grayling, Roach, Dace, Perch, Flounders + Eel...
The Barbel eludes me because I don't actually target that species but watching this catch makes me want to get a Barbel rig set up with some boilies + worm...

Thanks mate Scotland's absolutely beautiful place and I'm up there soon to do some fishing - regarding baits for barbel to be honest boilies and worms are fine , long hooklinks for wary fish and keeping things really simple - good luck mate

Im still chasing barbel, last time I've been chasing them on Hoveringham but unfortunately i managed one small skimmer on maggots, fancy stuff like pellets 8 to 14 mm and boilie 12mm didn't tempted barbel... maybe i put to much stuff in water😅

You can't over feed a barrel swim.Once they start feeding they don't stop.Half a bucket should do it.
Well done mate, you could tell it was a proper barbel the way it fought. Nice to see it looked after properly too but would expect no less from your good self. I'm getting on for 70 now and have never fished the Trent but your videos have convinced me that I really must get up there sooner rather than later. I might only get one crack at it, maybe a 48 hour bash. Would you recommend A1 pits, or somewhere else please? I do have limited mobility issues. Great dangling pal 👌
Go for A1 stretch mate, you can park directly next to your peg , and there's lots of pegs to choose from. Good luck

nice to see a river with weed in it, i fish the upper severn and she is in such a sorry state . no weed growth no insect life just brown slimey alge over the stones. very few graying and 35 years ago it was a pain to fish with so many salmon parr. your lucky to catch 3 in a week now
Hello mate can i ask you a question about my 1st time barbel fishing on the trent i have gone for 18lb main line n 15lb hook length have i gone ott my reel is not yet spooled up but line is on the way, hook lengths are done with fluro, your advice would be very welcome as your fish are !
Id probably go for 12lb fluro hooklink , and if you fish shallow gin clear areas that are snag free then drop down to 10lb.

@@obsessionwithangling I'm fishing a weir atm that's so snagy that I'm re-spooling every trip it just Killin my line and costing a fortune in gear. But barbel over 18 have come out. So going to switch to braid.. thinking of trying Gardner Hydro-Sink.. any thoughts? I've never used braid mainline

I just done a mid week session on A1 and it was absolutely rammed hardly a free peg. Think I will give it a miss for a while.
Conditions aren't the best, rivers low high pressure typical summer river fishing , roll on autum , having said that I've had a couple nice doubles today.

You have to pay 5£ delivery for the boiles and then an extra 5£ for delivery on a spray enhancer... taking into account that you order from the same website.
Choose another bait company then.....
