The music in Wakanda Forever was much softer, more somber and used more silence than any MCU film, even with the added Mayan music with Namir and Talokan.
A lot of the triumph elements that represented T'challa in the score are gone. I love both soundtracks. Maybe the first one more but Wakanda Forever the movie is a perfect film. I enjoy it better than the first film.
Top marks to whoever decided to give these two longtime friends the opportunity to talk about their work together and basically interview each other. Thank you.
Shuri's synth theme, the eerie 'Sirens' suite, 'Yibambe' and 'Namor's throne' was my absolute favs. All his themes told the story in its own ways. I already added them to my playlist. Ludwig is slowly becoming one of my all time fav composers!
I would consider him a legend already. He's done music for Black Panther, Creed, The Mandolorian, Turning Red to name a few (we wont talk about all the works he's done with Childish Gambino) and he's done all this by age 38. Most major composers dont get credentials like this until their mid-late 40's.
He definitely feels like the successor to Hans zimmer as the most sought after composer once Hans decides to stop. I can’t think of anyone else working today on their level.
@@alrightalrightalright972 I only see John Powell (How to train your dragon serie + Kung Fu Panda serie (as co-composer with Hans)) at that level and I will look closely to Natalie Holt work since Loki. And in a different style I will follow Hildur Guðnadóttir work to (Joker, Chernobyl).
Ryan is definitely introverted. It’s like words are too much for him cause he would rather be silent in his creativity. Trait of a genius right there. This makes me appreciate why his films are so good 😊
Ryan and Ludwig are such talented artists. The respect they have to all the cultures that are portrayed in the films are just one of the reasons their work will remain.
And now Oppenheimer too!!! The tension and depth of sound he built in that film were both absurd. He's an actual musical genius, and maybe (more simply) just a Genius in general. "A Beautiful Mind" is a phrase/title that seems pretty fitting for Luwig Göransson.
Burns Boy’s song ‘Alone’, Stormy’s ‘Interlude’ were extreme highlights for me. Those songs bought tears to my ears when I heard it in the cinema. Raw emotions of loss and love literally surged through me. The team on BP 2 outlet did themselves, truly.
Inframundo made me cry. You can feel the emotions being expressed through the song. I loved Yucatán and other songs in Spanish and involving the Mayan language. Made me want to explore more on who were my ancestors and the history of my parents who are Mexican.
Ryan and Ludwig show us what true artistry is and can be when you truly respect and love what you’re doing in the process and production of art. That care to detail sets them apart from most filmmakers and film scorers.
Con La Brisa is definitely the best song on the album! Amazing amazing & the way it played with the underwater scene was outstanding! Lift Me Up is also up there ❤️👏🏼
We need an episode of deconstruction for the song “Con La Brisa” that song is phenomenal & it definitely fit the scene & ambiance during that part of the movie
The sound engineering through out the entire movie was something ive never experienced in being a 40 year old adult. Especially the depth of the scenes with Namor. Or when the Queen was in danger. Honestly, my younger self who was curious came back to me to celebrate the excitement from just hearing the sound.
it’s wild seeing Ludwig’s progression as an artist. those early Childish Gambino tapes were my first intro into Ludwig just as a producer. then realizing that he also did film and tv scores, i kept following his work. now he’s pretty much the John Williams of our generation. it’s nuts that this dude did Childish Gambino projects, New Girl, Marvel and Star Wars. that’s a huge breadth of work with so many differing thematic changes. Ludwig is a true artist. no wonder he’s paired with another genius like Coogler. Wakanda Forever was very well made and easily the best of Phase 4 Marvel. I do wish for another Donald Glover collab with Ludwig though: movie, show, album- anything! lol
I'd say even being a bridge of John and Hans Zimmer as well, which is just amazing to say from me! Having a hand with the composition and the production side of things does make him quite an artist to say.
Out of all the MCU movies, Black Panther Universe has the greatest soundtracks that really lift the movie up. The stylistic choices behind the sounds, artists greatly contributed in making these two movies amazing
the sound for this black panther was so intentional and executed such an breathtaking experience. so powerful when creative forces like ludwig and ryan come together to make a vision come into fruition.
i feel like i'm even more hyperaware of the music in black panther because it's just always so mesmerizing and rich with meaning...these two are magic together
So glad they devoted so much care and respect to the music of Wakanda and Talokan, from Maya Rappers like Pat Boy etc to Nigerian artists like Burna Boy ❤
I can't express enough how proud and grateful I am for your creativity. Finally my culture is well represented. Thank you for bringing us to the table and do it in such a magnificent way. Black and brown excellent 🤎
This dude went above and beyond the first movie with Wakanda Forever. The greatest MCU score alongside Loki.(And best looking imo, both shot by Autumn Durald Arkpaw).
Goransson and Coogler are like the new John Williams and...< insert young great directors of their time who worked with Williams> awesome pair these two, looking forward to more of their collaborations
The music in this film, ( both the score and soundtrack) where Bette than the first scene. Shuri being revealed as the new black panther and the talokan scenes are both 10/10
Imo a big part of why this format works here is the longtime friendship between director and composer, not always a brilliant composer will work with a director they can casually bounce off like this.
Ludwig did such a great job, I loved the soundtrack and have it on repeat!! Siren’s song, Namor’s soundtracks, the car chase scene, Con La Brisa, it’s been so enjoyable for me to listen to and appreciate. Thank you both!!
apart from the batman (and maybe werewolf by night) wakanda forever was the best scored film of 2022 and i need ludwig to receive another oscar for his stunning work.
wakanda forever and dune are the movies that i believe have the most outstanding sound deisgn, soundtracks and scores of all time. thank you so much ludwig, your sound and music truly made the film feel complete and took it to a whole other level. it truly wouldnt be the same without all of your amazing work:) big respect
Is there a full clip of the intro of Ludwig playing the piano?! I've been searching for him playing on UA-cam with no luck. Everybody up vote this please! gotta find someone playing this version of the main theme! 🧐🧐😫😫
Black Panther 3 Sights and Sounds are going to be pure genius with these making magic! It was as near perfection for a film given all of a massive challenges it faced, so really feel the third outing will be a "The Return of the King" moment with an Oscar!
I can't get over "Welcome Home" the orchestra and the note selection always leaves me in goosebumps. Hearing that played on a piano in the beginning of this video is special. Wonder if there's a version available for download? 👀👀👀
Most of them do. Henry Jackman's scores are amazing, Giacchino is good too (Dr. Strange theme is my favourite from him)... and Göransson's are the most creative and eclectic
My top 3 MCU composers: 1.Henry Jackman (blends characterization with action scenes so well) 🥇 2. Ludwig Göransson (unique, eclectic, transports you to another stratosphere let alone world. Just a little too "busy" for my liking) 🥈 3. Michael Giacchino (brilliant but lazy) 🥉 Hon. mention : Alan Silvestri ( the Avengers theme slaps)
Not to mention the siren song, probably the most bone chilling tune in the entire MCU sound library.
I can't wait until Ludwig shifts his interests in India historic music
what you mean is Solemn
It’s Namor he’s not a black guy
Top marks to whoever decided to give these two longtime friends the opportunity to talk about their work together and basically interview each other. Thank you.
Zero marks for whoever messed up the audio

"Árboles Bajo El Mar" was hands down the most memorable/impactful for me.

@@ParlonsAstronomie Natalie Holt definitely on my radar due to Loki
Black Panther 1 & 2 are the most authentic and genuine movies marvel has produced
Facts
Not 2 though tbh
So cool how they've known each other since their days at USC. The music in this film was BEAUTIFUL. Still listening to it
y’all gotta have him deconstruct “con la brisa” i need to find out what sounds he used.
Yes!
that song is otherworldly everything ludwig does is Powerful
The main drum sounds almost like a steel drum
for real I wanted them to go deeper on this one specifically !
Do I also hear a harp?😊
Ryan is definitely introverted. It’s like words are too much for him cause he would rather be silent in his creativity. Trait of a genius right there. This makes me appreciate why his films are so good 😊
That scene where we enter Talokan and the music kicks in is just.... *chef's kiss*
Ryan and Ludwig are such talented artists. The respect they have to all the cultures that are portrayed in the films are just one of the reasons their work will remain.
Ludwig has had an unbelievable year, Wakanda Forever, Turning Red and the Mandolorian. Just keeps getting better!
And now Oppenheimer too!!! The tension and depth of sound he built in that film were both absurd. He's an actual musical genius, and maybe (more simply) just a Genius in general.
"A Beautiful Mind" is a phrase/title that seems pretty fitting for Luwig Göransson.
Ludwig is a legend. Ryan is a genius. The BP score is one of the best scores I've ever heard. Nothing compares in my opinion.
That and Con La Brisa!!
I agreee
The press tour for Wakanda Forever has been incredible. They understood the assignment. I love listening to the creative process of making this film!
I want to read the OG Chadwick script just to know how his next chapter was intended to go. RIP King! Your mantle is being honored beautifully!
if they made a 4 hour video just talking about the entire soundtrack i’d watch the whole thing
Inframundo made me cry. You can feel the emotions being expressed through the song. I loved Yucatán and other songs in Spanish and involving the Mayan language. Made me want to explore more on who were my ancestors and the history of my parents who are Mexican.

I haven’t watched the video yet but I came into the comments looking to see if anyone had acknowledged Con La Brisa, I agree with everything you said!
AGREED!!!!!!!!
Ludwig Goransson made absolute magic with the BGM in this movie ♥♥
indeed one of the best character theme music of Marvel!
It all sounds like it’s part of the same world”
That was so powerful. All these sounds in 1 film
The sound engineering through out the entire movie was something ive never experienced in being a 40 year old adult. Especially the depth of the scenes with Namor. Or when the Queen was in danger. Ludwig needs to be talked about more, every time I hear him hes added to my playlist. He brings out the inner artist in me and I don't know how
Out of all the MCU movies, Black Panther Universe has the greatest soundtracks that really lift the movie up. The stylistic choices behind the sounds, artists greatly contributed in making these two movies amazing
Ryan's love for women is beyond, their work together is monumental
Con la brisa and burna boy's alone are incredibly amazing songs
the sound for this black panther was so intentional and executed such an breathtaking experience. so powerful when creative forces like ludwig and ryan come together to make a vision come into fruition.
It would've been so cool to have seen a documentary of the entire music, training & filming process 💛
i feel like i'm even more hyperaware of the music in black panther because it's just always so mesmerizing and rich with meaning...these two are magic together
Love all the attention to detail and care and respect Ludwig gives when composing.
So glad they devoted so much care and respect to the music of Wakanda and Talokan, from Maya Rappers like Pat Boy etc to Nigerian artists like Burna Boy ❤
I love hearing Ryan Coogler speak. There aren't many famous black people from the bay area, just makes me feel like i'm home lol
I can't express enough how proud and grateful I am for your creativity. Finally my culture is well represented. Thank you for bringing us to the table and do it in such a magnificent way. Black and brown excellent 🤎
Ryan Coogler such a good dude love to see him succeed and thrive
I love the sounds used in ‘coming back for you’, when I heard it in the film it was such a comforting song to hear
This dude went above and beyond the first movie with Wakanda Forever. The greatest MCU score alongside Loki.(And best looking imo, both shot by Autumn Durald Arkpaw).
When they thing happened then the thing became the thing and dropped down to the hole I had goosebumps. I had goosebumps all over tbh.
Such an amazing collaboration these two. Music is so powerful it's the universal language i loved this film
i like how character motifs from the first movie become thematic motifs in wakanda forever
Love this conversion between longtime friends and collaborators.

Would be dope if Genius did this for more film scores like Johnny Greenwood, Hans Zimmer, Nicholas Brittell etc
Imo a big part of why this format works here is the longtime friendship between director and composer, not always a brilliant composer will work with a director they can casually bounce off like this.
I’m glad they talked about the trailer music. It was genius
Ludwig did such a great job, I loved the soundtrack and have it on repeat!! Siren’s song, Namor’s soundtracks, the car chase scene, Con La Brisa, it’s been so enjoyable for me to listen to and appreciate. Thank you both!!
'Vengeance has consumed us' was such a heart breaking score - one of my favourites.
This soundtrack is definitely more soft which is understandable. I'm glad you guys actually did your research.
they should know that i'm still obsessed with this after 3 months, watched it on theater twice. each day i listen to the wakanda forever scores
I literally just looked up the music of wakanda and this video is just right here. Amazing
It’s great to hear Mr. Coogler laugh like that !
The sounds were phenomenal!!! Wakanda & Talokan sounds were repped. 🫶🏾💯💪🏾
This was a fantastic conversation! I wish it was longer!
apart from the batman (and maybe werewolf by night) wakanda forever was the best scored film of 2022 and i need ludwig to receive another oscar for his stunning work.
Ludwig saying "Your like the most busy man I know" about Ryan says alot since he's also tight with Donald lmao.
The music in the film was absolutely stunning, thank you both for this experience!
Ludwig is the best composer these days. The true meaning of ARTIST.
the music in this film was incredible Ludwig is incredible
the artistry was jaw dropping lu beautiful
I heve been listening to the soundtrack of wakanda forever nonstop since seeing the movie. It is so good
Shuri's theme was cold ASF It's my favorite in all of the superhero movies that I've watched. And I'm a ride or die for Spider verse
these black Panther soundtrack in my headphone hit like if I could conquer the whole world s/o Ludwig Gôransson
I loved the DORA's music! 🖤 Absolutely perfect!
Wait till you hear it mashed up in Rihanna's "born again"
@@ace_gamer12 Just heard it! Love the ending! 🖤

One of the greatest.
I'm gonna need multiple Oscar nominations for this film.
Con La Brisa is my favorite song of the year s/o Foudeqush

Me too, I literally get chills
FINALLY something other than Verified and Open Mic
They're definitely getting an Oscar for this
My man Ludwig getting his recognition !!!!
thank you two geniuses for one of the most fantastic scores i've ever heard and one of the most beautiful marvel movies out there

What a Beautiful Movie and Tribute.

I can't get over "Welcome Home" the orchestra and the note selection always leaves me in goosebumps. Hearing that played on a piano in the beginning of this video is special. Wonder if there's a version available for download? 👀👀👀
The music gets treated just as seriously as the story. I hope all marvel movies do that.
Most of them do. Henry Jackman's scores are amazing, Giacchino is good too (Dr. Strange theme is my favourite from him)... and Göransson's are the most creative and eclectic
The Black Panther Wakanda Forever soundtrack by Ludwig was amazing, another Oscar Worthy soundtrack 👏👏👏
the best thing about the movie maybe
con la brisa was my favourite track from the soundtrack
Ludwig will always be invited to the cookout
This is the guy that produced Childish Gambino’s Redbone!
Wow 😮 I didn’t know that 👌
And This Is America!
Man's a mad genius then
The adults are in the room. 👍🏻 Loved this and WF is a huge accomplishment
Y'all gotta do with burna boy - alone
YES! Song is so fire
Wish the interview included snippets of the music

Wow this is an AMAZING interview 👌 two greats 👌👌
Colleage mates ...nice when things come together

The ship earring rap was so cool
The face Ryan makes when Ludwig references T'Challa... puts a lump in my throat
Amazing! So happy of this movie
