Retired to Nanaimo 26 years ago. Island life is second to none. A visit to the Dingy dock pub on Protection Island, a 20 minute boat ride from downtown , is a unique adventure.
You’ve got some Mexican elements in that amazing cottage, such as the sink and the red textile in the chair back (7:01). It is actually from my hometown, Oaxaca
I can’t watch this now but I can’t wait to! I’m planning on moving to Nanaimo at the end of 2023/very early 2024! Too much stuff going on next year plus saving money otherwise I’d move sooner like in summer! Lol
Loved the vlog!!! You guys are such a cute couple. Loved how much adventure you packed in to 11 minutes. I want to go to that tiny house!!! Excited to see more from you two!
I’ve lived on protection for about 15 years now and it’s funny to see it from a view of someone who’s never been before. :) And right where she bailed you where going up the road where my house is!
I have always believed there is and always has been an element in this Province that is bound and determined to keep Nanaimo down. I don't know what fuels it but I suspect jealousy has a lot to do with it. Just look at Nanaimo's potential a Harbour that is second to none, Beautiful Parks,Rivers and Lakes and an unmatched central location to everything. When your Jealous of something you run it down and I think Nanaimo is a classic example of that. Nanaimo needs forward progressive thinkers to change it's image from a rough and tumble Mill town to the truly beautiful city that it is today.
Many neighbourhoods in Victoria are superior to the best neighbourhoods in Nanaimo, but there are still many beautiful neighbourhoods in Nanaimo, and the traffic is better, the real estate less expensive and I think the outdoor opportunities (parks & tails) are more accessible and abundant in Nanaimo. It's a great place compared to most of Canada, for scenic beauty alone.
So glad I found you! Love this!

I loved! 🫰🥰
The way this is filmed is so pleasing! I love it 😍
Beautiful rental that’s only $3680.00 per month! Do most people in Nanaimo pay that much for rent?
You like it in my hometown so far? I've lived in Nanaimo for 12 years and I love it here!

I don't think Nanaimo is a rough-tumble town at all. It's quite beautiful & clean. You should see what rough is like in other parts of North America.
I agree Nanaimo is so beautiful and so under rated I just think people pick on it because there jealous of it.

Oh ya and Nanaimo needs to clean up tent city and send the trouble makers back to the communities that sent them here!
Link to that Airbnb please!
The beginning of this video reminds me of Kara and Nate.
Do you live in Nanaimo ? How’s the weather and how’s the rent over there
We are back in Ontario now actually! 😊 the weather when we were there was incredible, just a little rainy!
Sam&Tei ok thanks
@@happyhomehappylife where are you now ..in Nanaimo or other place ..
The small boat took you to protection island not nanaimo

It took them to Protection Island AND Nanaimo. They had to go back, remember?
dingy with a hard 'g' !
This is my first time seeing one of your videos and they are great, they remind me of Casey Neistats vlogs
You forgot to show all the heroine needles and junkies robbing all the local businesses!
I’m in Nanaimo rn!
That little cabin is soooo cool!!! How much is it for a week??
Did you watch the video?
It's called the dingy dock.
Nice one !
Such a well-made video! Subbed and I hope we can support each other!
Din-gy lol geeeee what Sammy said.
how is the real estate there? Vancouver is insane!
Less insane, but still very expensive. The average sale price for Nanaimo single-family homes was $726,764 for Jan 2021.
