15:37 A great filter moment for Link. You see the idea dawn on him, see him process, and see him bite his tongue and NOT go where his mind led him, then wipe the expression from his face.
I've read other AITA stories similar to Hitchs, and it's always the single women being asked to move, and not the single men. It boils down to believing that women are easier to push around, and you can guilt them into moving, whereas the belief is that men will just no and oh well, nothing to do here. Super sexist behaviour from the flight crew.
Chase! Don't brake check people! It's not worth it if they hit you! And people are crazy, you never know who is in that car or what they're going thru.
Chase is 100% a bad person for doing that stuff. He's going to cause an accident or get himself and/or others hurt. People may also have emergencies and he's slowing the down when they're trying to get somewhere.
@@Kefka2010objectively wrong. The tailgater is always wrong. It won't get you anywhere faster so the emergency argument has no value, and if there's a legitimate reason to break, then you're destroying both cars. Tailgaters are the bad people
@etiennepicard2593 Tailgating isn't inherently bad. The only issue is if you can't react in time to a brake or a need for a sudden stop. Plus, people commonly recognize that people who are tailgating would like to pass you, hence it's a form of communication to move over to the right lane. Chase is 100% road raging and causing problems. There's no justification for him taking his vigilante justice towards other drivers. People like him have been convicted of manslaughter for impeding emergencies. Given that the law views emergencies to be a very valid argument I don't think you ignoring it is a valid point. So you're correct, your argument is objectively wrong.
@etiennepicard2593 Plus it will get you places faster because people will move over, compared to you driving 70 feet behind them and them assuming you're following at the same speed.
Tbh as someone who has alot of experience traveling, it is not the least bit tricky to choose to purchase seats together if you want to be sitting together on the plane.
Right, I’ve never been on a plane so I was going to ask if the seats are assigned… even if it’s a last-minute flight you can’t really expect people to move for you
however, some airlines will charge you extra. if someone is clearly alone and it’s an equal exchange (an aisle for an aisle) i don’t really see the big deal
It kind of sounded like a Southwest airline situation where there aren’t assigned seats. You board in groups and choose your own seat. If you are toward the end of boarding you usually get stuck in the middle.
Right, I travel with my daughter all the time and if we happen to have seats not next to each other, I just go to the gate agent and they are more than willing to update our seats. Simple as that.
Thank you for donating. That org is a wonderful organization that helps a lot of people and provides the community with absolutely necessary information.
The way I always look at stuff like the mom & kids on an airplane story is, just ask, but don't expect. Didn't seem like the mom threw a fit over it, so it's just weird to me that the people sitting with either the mom or the son weren't asked, but the lady sitting in the seat between them? Odd person to choose, approachable or not.
Something I read recently kinda changed my thinking on people that drive like assholes. Sometimes it could be that they're in an emergency and trying to rush to the hospital as fast as possible or something like that.
stuck in your head too huh? lol imma be at work getting the side eye cause I already know imma be in the zone and just randomly start singing that and without context they gonna judge hard lol
Apparently according to traffic scientists, the last-minute cutoff is how traffic is supposed to flow in order to utilize all lanes up until the merge point instead of merging way ahead of time. I still don't understand why that makes traffic flow faster.
not to mention the jerks who sit in the middle of the lanes thinking they are playing a hero when in all actuality, they are making it way more dangerous for every other driver.
If you're concerned about sitting by your kids, why would you book seats or a flight without booking seats next to your kids? Never should anyone ever EXPECT people to move for them. Yes some will, but you should never expect it.
I'm from a small town and have never driven in a place nearly as big as LA but it definitely seems city driving is more bold and takes a lot of maneuvering
Chase, I feel the EXACT same way about drivers. I have one of those right turn lanes like you are talking about near my house and people always use it to go straight. Sh*t drives me bananas!!! 🤬
As someone who doesn't have, want or like kids I wouldn't move seat either way. Airlines I fly with always offer to let you choose your seat/sit with your group for a fee so it's the parent's fault if they didn't opt for that and decided to instead rely on the assumption that strangers will be nice to them.
Exactly. There are a few airlines that don't let you pick your seats beforehand but then it's on you to be there early instead of showing up last minute and then expect people to move for your family.
if you do, you should be compensated.. Idc whether its the airline or that woman. That would create a whole new industry of people who squat seats tho.
So glad for the first story. I thought I was the only one that played karma deliverer on the roads. The only thing I'll say is that I always have the thought "...but maybe there's an emergency..."
Link is correct. It's called a "zipper-merge" and the most efficient way for traffic. Use both lanes and don't be the car holding up traffic because you think you're waiting for your turn.
Just food for thought....Maybe mom was okay with daughter being alone due to unseen issues such as developmental issues the son may have. Age may made him older but mental, emotional or development he may be younger than his sister......That being said mom could have taken precautions or preplanned to ensure they were seated properly.
But isn't there special boarding for that too? Maybe it's a USA thing but I've never been on a flight that didn't offer special seating and early boarding/accomodations for disabilities/chronic illness. And you don't need a diagnosis or DR note to get it. It's just honor system
You're supposed to merge at the point the lane closes in a zipper formation. People that merge early are the ones doing it wrong and causing traffic problems. Not letting somebody in at the merge point is punishing them for being right!
