Public Official Tells Journalist To Shut-Up | Lee County Georgia

  • Carol Lee with Lee County believes it is ok to tell a citizen to shut up if she doesn't like what you have to say.
    A camera made her uncomfortable and when questioned about her cell phone usage instead of working she didn't like it. Demanding accountability and transparency in this building might not be an option for the people. If Carol doesn't like what you have to say then she may just tell you to shut up.
    However, she did apologize at the end. I felt that it was not a sincere apology.

    I can't stand when someone has been treated roughly by a public employee (telling someone to shut up) and the other employees try to focus on "what do you need" and skirt the issue of the wrong you've been done. They are masking and trying to get you to let it go.

    Police officer was only interested in your record's request because he wanted your info off of it.
    He was trying all the tricks in the book.
    If you didn't drive there, next time tell them that you did and that your vehicle is in the parking lot... watch how quickly he runs all the plates out there... Or has someone run them.
    You know he's going to wait until you leave, watch the security cameras, and get any info off any car you were in... If you arrived in one.

    WHY IS THE POLICE ASKING YOU ABOUT YOUR FOIA, WHY IS HE IN YOUR BUSINESS?

  • @CeanStrauss
    @CeanStrauss 10 місяців тому +3

    It's concerning how detective Brown was trying so hard (and failing miserably) to inconspicuously get identifying information out of GT. He told GT 3 or 4 times to make sure and put his name on the FOIA request form, knowing full well that isn't required. Tried get him to give his phone number. Heck the only thing he read back was GT's email address for his own body cam, hoping he could use that to identify him later. Asked him if he was from there. Asked him if he drove or walked, obviously to try to run his plates. All the typical cop BS in an attempt to run him for warrants, and add to an undoubtedly already on-going investigative file on another man who dares to peacefully exercise his rights. For goodness sake when the clerk told GT to "shut up" Mr. Brown immediately turned to GT and tried to get him to leave the room and go sit in a chair. Don't be fooled by Brown's fake politeness and weakly veiled professional, to him we the people are the enemy. Great job as usual GT.

    Strange how if the public causes trouble they can always find a manager but when you need one they are always out in the field or not here right now.

    I am from leesburg and I was told by the police you have to provide ID when stopped like he is doing something like this. I was hoping he would go to Lee county and I am glad. Side note JOEY DAVENPORT is a jerk I know from experience working in the trade in the county for a company.
