Twenty-Five Twenty-One (Korean: 스물다섯 스물하나; RR: Seumuldaseot Seumulhana) is a 2022 South Korean television series directed by Jung Ji-hyun and starring Kim Tae-ri, Nam Joo-hyuk, Bona, Choi Hyun-wook and Lee Joo-myung. The series depicts the romantic lives of five characters spanning from the year of 1998 to 2021.[2] It premiered on tvN on February 12, 2022, and aired every Saturday and Sunday at 21:10 (KST) for 16 episodes.[3] It is available for streaming on Netflix.
In 1998, Na Hee-do (Kim Tae-ri) is a member of the school fencing team at Seonjung Girls' High School, but due to the IMF crisis, the team is disbanded. To continue pursuing her passion, she transfers to Taeyang High School and later manages to become a member of the National Fencing Team. Baek Yi-jin’s (Nam Joo-hyuk) family goes from "riches to rags" and are separated due to the financial crisis. He is forced to take up several part-time jobs and later becomes a sports reporter.
In present day, Kim Min-chae (Choi Myung-bin), Na Hee-do's daughter, quits ballet and "runs away" to her grandma's house. During her stay, she comes across her mother's diary, which the story is then told through.

The series (first and only season so far) was good for about 13 episodes. It became surreal when Yi-Jin responds with passion to Hee-Do's declaration of love but cannot draw a line between his ambitions and duties at work and his private life. What's so difficult to realize? Should Hee-Do just put up with his broken promises and absences and be grateful for a few minutes squeezed in? What is he, a soldier away from the front on a few days of compassionate leave? Some touches don't make any sense. Why should a reporter not fall in love with an athlete whom he has known from before his time as a reporter to the point where other journalists warn him against it? But then they seem quite comfortable with the idea that Hee-do is Yi-Jin's girl friend. Why should a Korean reporter be sent to New York to cover the aftermath of the 9/11 attack when the news channel already has an office and staff there? How could Yi-Jin somehow reach Mexico, travel across the border and overland to New York in record time immediately after 9/11? What sense did it make for him to interview survivors fresh from the trauma of losing their loved ones? The show inflates his importance and idealism. But he just sounds foolish. It's not a great achievement to broadcast a Korean survivor's hope (to be frustrated) that someone could still be alive in the rubble. Neither is it normal for anybody to expect just broadcasting news, covering events, will prevent global catastrophes happening again. All that at the cost of poor Hee-Do whom he has promised their grand trip together. It's even worse when Yi-Jin asks for a longer-term assignment in New York without even telling Hee-Do because of the silly argument that he might not get the job. And he asks for it because he feels a "mission". What about feeling something for the girl he left behind? Or it's enough if he cries by himself and drinks some more?
What kind of boyfriend or fiance doesn't even call because he feels so intensely the suffering of the 9/11 victims that he has to take sedatives and drink? He is not a first responder, not an official responsible for security after the attack or deciding policy. And then when he returns to Korea to pack up and leave, Yi-Jin has the shamelessness to accuse Hee-Do of not understanding him. What kind of self-involved, self-obsessed young man doesn't even understand the pain of the woman who loves him and misses him? If her efforts on the phone to comfort him didn't work, wasn't that his fault? In short, the reasons given for the break-up don't make sense. If Yu-rim and her boy friend could keep their long-term relationship going and pick up again when she returned to Korea, there's no reason that could not have worked for Yi-Jin and Hee-Do. As Hee-Do points out, he was not there for her and could not be relied upon to keep his promises even before he left for America. He's unable to understand how important that was for Hee-Do (or for any normal young woman). Why should being a news reporter mean sacrifice of love and a relationship? That's a weird idea of journalism and duty in a profession. Lots of reporters have girl-friends and boy-friends, and are happily married. Yi-Jin is driven, obviously, as a dutiful Korean son, to rise quickly in his chosen career to rescue his parents and brother from their poverty and re-establish them in life. But he could have probably done that anyway without sacrificing Hee-do's happiness or their relationship. The script is badly written from that point of view, not realistic, even when it pretends to be realistic about first love. The bitter parting which the show then tries to paper over with some silly phrases of appreciation and thanks is actually more realistic. Hee-do's reproaches are well-founded. Anyone who has known the passion and anguish of first love and a break-up would also know that the hurt goes deep and makes people lash out.

Just watch the interview of yijin with heedo. They dint have wedding ring. Also during the funeral when heedo giving advice about engagement and divorce. Heedo dont have ring. Also his daughter was shocked that heedo have bf after 6months yijin was far away. So his daughter doesnt expecting taht her mother got another bf aside form yijin
