My girls are finally laying for me and with 21 hens, I’m overflowing with fresh eggs! Besides what we eat fresh, I also supply our mom , give some to the neighbor who helped build the hen house and still have enough to start selling come January. Plus freezer egg muffins, breakfast burritos, quiches, etc. I researched different breeds and happily chose 3 breeds that are the most docile, friendly and good layers. Oh and I named my beautiful rooster Elvis 😂❤
I got the gallon maple syrup from Azure and I poured it into some quart jars, leaving about 1.5-2” of headspace and then froze them. And I keep one in the fridge. 😊
Becky!!!! You're the best! I can't wait to catch up on your videos, as we FINALLY have bought a house(we close tomorrow). Nice Azure haul Becky! I miss seeing your girls on your porch like we used to at your former home. I know they make a mess and I totally get why they can’t be doing that but I would love to see them now and then in your videos - just a little clip - so they can say hi to your friends. 😀
Pure maple syrup can be put in smaller jars & processed for long-term pantry storage. I usually get just over 8 pint jars per gallon bought. I use a lot.
I don’t think we’d recognize you with your hair down. 😁It looks like you have great texture! Was raised with applesauce on my pancakes 😋😋😋. Cooking orzo with chicken broth is an ideal side with small children in the home too. For my babies I would add very finely diced chicken pieces.

Becky I've recently rediscovered your channel. I've been on life support twice in the past 2 years and I forget a lot of what I used to watch every time. Lol. I want you to know that if I had it all to do over again I would homestead exactly the way you do. Unfortunately, at my age - I'm 60yo today actually - I don't have it physically in me to do it all but you do inspire me to try to do some kind of vegetable growing next year. A young friend and I are planning to do some gardening next year. I also get to pass on all that I learn from you to my grandchildren. Thank you so much. You have an amazing channel. You're a very talented teacher! Btw, just for s**ts and giggles, if you'd like to give an old lady a little birthday gift, I'm so curious about your beautiful hair and would love to see it down one day! Thank you for all that you do. You are a beautiful person inside and out.
If you are on a septic system you should not use powdered cleaning products. They will turn back into powder in your tank , therefore clogging up the system.
I wish we could get Azure here, their products look amazing. Does baby like the freeze dried snacks too or is he too young to eat them yet? It’s been so long since I had babies, I can’t remember at what age they start snacking hahaha but I would imagine freeze dried fruits would be a safe food to eat. That is such a nice thing to do for your mom, buying and preparing the berries for her, I’m sure she’ll be over the moon with that gift. Have a wonderful day!
Can’t wait for holiday baking ideas, I’ve decided this year 95% of our Christmas gifts will be homemade, starting with hot chocolate bombs, cake pops and garlic jelly with fresh buns! Hoping everything turns out good!
@@robertlavigne6560chocolate bombs are made for making hot cocoa. You make two half circles of melted chocolate by painting the chocolate into a half round mold and letting it get hard, then filling it with hot chocolate mix, marshmallows, whatever mix ins. I'm doing cowboy candy for the first time and sewing grocery tote bags for some gifts. Becky can always get me motivated to be brave and step outside my comfort zone. ❤
Becky the eggs you get from your girls must be super nutritious with that feed you give them and all the veggie scraps!! Thanks for sharing the haul. Sometimes it's so much better to buy in bulk so a person doesn't have to go to the grocery store as much. My Mom did this for years. Oh...while I'm talking about bulk buying...I was wondering if you have a back up generator for the freezers? Or for the house?
As a person who used to produce maple syrup, I buy it now in gallons size. I can it in jars, one half and one pint size then can it for ten minutes and they are good for over a year.
Dear Becky You are so lucky to have your sweet fans to be so concerned about your health. We love your videos, thanks so much for sharing this video with us all. God bless you n plz take care yourself for us all.🙏🙏🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️❤️❤️👍
Wanted to share info about white chocolate. Always taste your older white chocolate before combining with new. White/milk chocolate has higher milk content and will go bad faster than dark chocolate. It can taste a bit rancid. FYI
I keep all my chocolate chips in my freezer! All the kinds. It just seems to work better for me this way and I know that my family won’t be so tempted to eat them out of the bag!!
You can freeze maple syrup....it really doesn't freeze, just gets thick. You can just pour some into a different container if you'd like some in your fridge.
Yes. Becky I understand that the cost of everything has gone up so much it's ridiculous, In December I won't be buying any groceries at all we don't need a thing eighter, thank heaven, We are just going to relaxing and enjoying the coming holiday's, so glad to see your post I couldn't find anything to watch you made my afternoon ,
Something I like to do to save time is to make all my Christmas cookie dough and freeze it in balls in a cookie sheet, then pop them off and put them in the freezer to bake later before I make goodie platters to deliver. That way I can take the stress off making them and do it in November or even October and save my sanity during to holidays.
Cheese freezes fine we grate and freeze when we have bulk. Orzo salad yum! Fresh mint, beetroot tinned/pickled, peas, feta cheese, lemon juice and olive oil serve chilled Devine.
I recently watched the video where you tripled a batch of pull apart bread. I am sure someone else pointed this out but I was watching on my tv and could not check the comments. I just wanted to mention that one should not double or triple the yeast when doubling or tripling a bread recipe. I learned this a long time ago when I doubles a recipe in my bread machine…blew the top right off, well almost. Lol When I double a recipe, I add less than one quarter of additional yeast. When tripling, I add an additional half or less of the original amount of yeast. Hope this is helpful. I really enjoy your videos.
Oh no, Becky! I must have missed something in your videos. About six months ago, I was certain you had 9 chickens, but in this video you said six. I haven't missed a video between unless it was on a different platform. Hope all is well with your girls! Your Azure haul looks wonderful. There are always avenues online to order maple syrup - My mom always gets hers from a farm in Vermont or Maine (sorry - I don't remember which) but their shipping and cost has always been very reasonable.
You bought a gallon of rice vinegar and keep a small bottle of it on hand. Could have done the same with the maple syrup. Buy the gallon of the syrup and keep a smaller container on hand and keep the rest in your other fridge.
For refilling powder products you can use a stiff flexible cutting board so it can hold up but also flex to allow you to put the old back into the container with minimal waste
Just made your Pumpkin Italian Sausage Pasta. We loved it. My husband claims he doesn’t like pumpkin, but when he started eating, I told him it had pumpkin in it. He is now a believer. He loved it! Thanks for sharing your recipes.
I just signed up with Azure-super excited to try their flours! I can’t find bread flour any bigger than 5# here! Added bonus-they’re an Oregon company!
But dark robust is just maple boiled down more so just get normal and boil it more, I am part native they taught me and after all was them that discovered it and made it first to store for winter
Becky, I just wanted to mention that Costco does ship. Not necessarily for right now, but it might be helpful in the future. I looked because I couldn't remember, free shipping comes with $80 spent. I know that I can't remember the last time I got out of there for less than that. 😂
I don’t live anywhere near a drop off area so I paid for delivery which wiped out some of the savings. The first order was fine. The second order included avocado oil at a good price. Unfortunately, when opened, it turned out to be rancid. Some people can’t taste rancidity, however, as a food scientist and trained food taster, I do. Not only does rancidity taste bad, it is not good for you. Azure, you need to taste test you older oils. You may need to change storage conditions, packaging, sources.
I know I'm late to the game, but you should try coconut oil masks once a week! I scoop it out of the jar and later it onto my dry hair, alllllllll over! You can put your hair up in a clip or leave it down while wearing a t-shirt you don't care about. I like to leave it in overnight and just lay something down on my pillow. Wash it out the next morning. Coconut oil is really good for your hair.
That’s a great idea to buy your dishwasher cleaner in the book powder. Once your little man starts running around it will be a lot easier for you to keep it up out of his reach a safe.
Add a can of red beans and a little smoked cheese to the risotto style orzo friend! I serve this as a side dish with roast chicken! The powder Azure dish detergent is great as well!
I love it when you post new videos 🤗. Just my thoughts on the dishwasher pods, I also have well water and try to use natural cleaners but have found they do not work well with my hard water (the only things that work for me are Dawn and Finish)….so don’t feel bad about your Cascade pods if you have to use them. You do so much to be eco friendly but it’s ok to choose clean dishes too 😊
Since you have a freeze dryer, have you tried freeze drying syrup? I haven't done it myself, but saw that it can be done. I love watching your videos, very inspiring to keep my pantry and kitchen stocked.
I'm excited to see the Christmas projects this year. I always bake my families traditional cookies. I haven't made candy in years. Truffles sound amazing.
I love my coffees, Green mountain is awsome .Most of the time my brother send me different coffees from P R.he retired there and is well knowledgeable in coffees.
You can freeze maple syrup. My local maple syrup producer told me to freeze and just let thaw for a few minutes on counter before pour off what I need. Put the rest back in freezer. The real stuff never goes bad, if too gets mold just scrape it off the reboil.
The lighter roast of coffee has a higher caffeine level, I always thought the dark was higher , it has to do with the mass of the bean and dark is a lighter weight .
Check Greek recipes, they cook a lot with orzo.. licking fingers good food. We try to visit Greece (Kos) 2x a year, we always eat the dishes with orzo!
I’d love to use Azure, I get their flyers but my schedule is not really flexible and I’ve never been able to get a straight answer on where and when pickup is. 🤷🏼♀️
Maple syrup is a staple in our house! We use it in our coffee and tea, oatmeal, and i often use it instead of sugar when baking. I prefer it to honey. I order some things from azure, i hope some day i can make a big order like this! .
I have just started using powder and not the plastic pods because I’m pretty sure the plastic was leaving a film all over my dishwasher (and likely also on my dishes!!). The first run w the powder already looked better. I’m never going back to throwing a “melting” plastic in my dishwasher.
How about buying one gallon of maple syrup and pouring it into a smaller container of your choice? I was born in Vermont and we couldn’t go without our maple syrup! 😀❤️
My husband and I have just visited Washington from the day before Thanksgiving until yesterday on Nov, 28th. We’re heading back home now and we’ve made it to Nebraska so far. Lacey Washington is where we were at. Your state is beautiful . It’s very different from our State of Georgia.
Dear Becky, I have a question for you! I use corn starch in my sugar cream pie (I’m a Hoosier!). Can I use tapioca starch exactly 1:1 ratio just like corn starch for thickening? How interesting is it that my Mom always uses regular tapioca, small sized, to thicken her cherry pies!! ☺️ Thank you! I enjoyed your video! I’m new to your channel. That cheese looks AMAZING! 😍
Azure now has their brand of cleaning and laundry ..amazing and no bad or forever chemicals with them thry have so many cleaning laundry and dish washer .I am thoroughly happy with all yhe cleaning laundry dish etc full cleaning products ...also have you tried Grandmas shampoo bar .oh my I get so many compliments the smell its honeysuckle neem..I love it , and it lasts so long ..Now hoping they will come up with a clean conditioner bar with no bad stuff in it!
I learn things from all of your videos. Have never used tapioca starch. Glad you explained what you use it for. (More info on that would have been good too!) Not sure which Costco membership you have but if you have the premium one they ship free. Ask about the premium membership because you get over rides and they gtd that you'll make the difference in memberships back. Totally worth it. (We live in rural South Dakota). Excited for upcoming videos, thank you for what you do. We appreciate you.

I am proud of you. You have been trying all kinds of new things this year.
You do so much to be eco friendly but it’s ok to choose clean dishes too 😊
You can buy gallon maple syrup and can in jars
Love your videos. Made 3 meatloaves. 3 spinach ravioli casseroles. And, ordered my wood lids for my spice jars. Thank you Becky friend
That is amaizng!
I have been using Bowmar Nutrition postpartum vitamins this time around and I haven't had the postpartum hair problems this time around.
I just was looking at Azure when I saw your video. I never heard of them before.
Maple syrup is a staple in our house! We use it in our coffee and tea, oatmeal, and i often use it instead of sugar when baking. I prefer it to honey. I order some things from azure, i hope some day i can make a big order like this!
.
Girl, I haven't watched you in months...you are enjoying those dishes you're making :)
I have just started using powder and not the plastic pods because I’m pretty sure the plastic was leaving a film all over my dishwasher (and likely also on my dishes!!). The first run w the powder already looked better. I’m never going back to throwing a “melting” plastic in my dishwasher.
Me too! It comes in thing with a pouring spout. Super easy and I wonder why I ever used the stuff covered in plastic...
How about buying one gallon of maple syrup and pouring it into a smaller container of your choice? I was born in Vermont and we couldn’t go without our maple syrup! 😀❤️
Trader Joes has 32oz dark maple syrup jugs and they are $12.99 I believe! I also like the dark maple syrup, the Costco stuff is too sweet for me.
TJ’s FTW! I love their dark, used to called grade B, maple syrup
Wow that is an amazing price!
Yes, orzo risotto substitute. Cooked with chicken broth, lemon juice, garlic and Parmesan cheese!
Can you list the total cost and price please. so this was people can see the price and make their judgments on if they want to use azure or not.
You can decant the maple syrup and freeze what you don’t need.
My husband and I have just visited Washington from the day before Thanksgiving until yesterday on Nov, 28th. We’re heading back home now and we’ve made it to Nebraska so far. Lacey Washington is where we were at. Your state is beautiful . It’s very different from our State of Georgia.
You dont need to put pure maple syrup in the fridge, in a tight cantiner in a cooler area
Dear Becky,
I have a question for you!
I use corn starch in my sugar cream pie (I’m a Hoosier!). Can I use tapioca starch exactly 1:1 ratio just like corn starch for thickening? How interesting is it that my Mom always uses regular tapioca, small sized, to thicken her cherry pies!! ☺️
Thank you!
I enjoyed your video! I’m new to your channel. That cheese looks AMAZING! 😍
I love Rigatoni and Orzo. Orzo is so useful and versatile in pasta dishes, stews, soups etc.
I use ditalini or stelline as not spotted orzo last few times shopping.
I love when you show your grocery haul!! I like the color on your nails too!❤

My mother-in-law always buys a gallon of syrup and then cans it into quart jars so that it can be shelf stable and not stored at all in the fridge
Hi!! Im new to you and I am learning lots. 55 yrs old and never too late to start this, which I am lol...
I'm so Grateful for you sharing your videos, I just got alot of ideas following your shopping 🛒🛒 n stocking up on our foodies, much Love n Aloha, from Honolulu Hawaii Mahalo Becky
You don’t have to store maple syrup in de fridge ☺️. Greetings from Belgium
