      The one thing I would add is that the tires sit too proud off the body. Candidate for a lot of mud and gravel to fling off and mar the body. I’d look at fender extenders to protect the body and make the stance streamlined

    I have watched this video at least 10 times! I've been saving up my humble military pay for a while in hopes of a build, almost exactly, like this. I have been driving the same Tacoma since the weekend after boot camp; 23 years now! Time for an upgrade.
    I am really on the fence with that expedition-one bumper and a victory bumper. There has be a better way to mount that backup camera between the two.
    Regardless, excellent work gents! I wish I could visit your shop, but NM is far away from Alaska. Cheers, and keep posting these types of videos!

    I love the rear tire being mounted the way it is ...straight up and not tilted toward the tailgate like most 4 runners bumpers have them
    ...and it's a nice look the tire being offset..
    but I don't understand why the right side is better than the left side... in regards to parking..
    If it's a one-way Street you could park on either side of the roadway so what's the difference if it's on the left or the right???

    What's the fuel milage? I mean if you're trying to get 200,000-300,000 miles out of this thing the fuel milage difference is going to be a massive factor in budgeting over time.

    • @TAVLLC
      @TAVLLC  3 місяці тому

      I don’t know what this client is getting for fuel economy but that number will be different based on driving habits, where someone lives and how much the rig weighs. Over the span of 200,000 or 300,000 miles the fuel prices will have changed so many times how would you know if it is cost effective or not?

    • @Apistevist
      @Apistevist 3 місяці тому

      Rough approximation considering historical changes and rates of change in inflation vs fuel price then consider income rise over time and remove that? It'll never be anything more than a rough approximation or prediction.
      Assuming 200,000 miles unmodified and averaging 20 MPG hypothetically vs the same distance traveled @ 12 MPG for example gives a difference of ~6600 total gallons in difference. I'll just make up a number and assume during this time average price per gallon is 4.5USD, that would mean a hidden cost over 200k miles of 29,700USD. All hypothetical but it's something I'd consider as a frugal minimalist but I'd gladly accept such a price for robust capability.@@TAVLLC

    I feel like this vehicle has less dirt on it than a politician. Will it ever actually see a dirt road???

    4Runners are expensive to start with and I would estimate the mods to cost at least as much as a new 4Runner. The parts aen't cheap, but neither is the qualified labor. If you have to ask how much it costs, you can't afford it.

    Might as well give it a nomenclature if there's so many acronyms then go ahead and bid it to the US MILITARY 🤣

    There has to be a better rear camera set up than that gigantic donkey dong looking thing. Seems like the least clean thing on that 4runner. If you have that rig in a garage, you'll be hitting the ceiling or have some sort of clearance issues. I have been racking my mind on how I would set that camera up with the license plate other than that set up.

    I dont understand why telling the price for a build like that is such a big deal.

      Agreed 100%, one of the most helpful things to know is the price of stuff. Maybe some ranges or some examples of prices for different components at least??

      My guess is $30k. The bumpers, sliders, and skids alone cost $6-$10k.

      @@txrunroutdoors I bet its way more than $30k. Currie F9 rear end, big brake kit, supercharger, long travel suspension etc... Plus labor, tax etc...
