I lost my first fur baby this morning after getting violently sick throughout the night. She was nearly 16 years old and had been my sidekick everyday since we adopted her. Now I have a 6 year old that's grown up with her. I don't know how to break it to her, but this video has given me peace in how to take care of my little Peechez from here. Thank you
Just a small tip: remember if you bury them in a fabric of some sorts, to not pick a fabric made of synthetic fibers. They can take up to 200 years to decompose. So do try to pick a better alternative, like cotton or wool. ❤️
Thank you very much for doing this. My cat and friend of 12 years passed away suddenly last night. Really appreciate your guide on what to do now, especially when grieving makes thinking difficult. Thank you.
We lost our sweet and loving Sophie January 10, 2024. She was 12 years and was a Rat Terrier. We picked a spot by a pecan tree she used to chase squirrels up the tree. Thank for this video. Makes us feel good that we did right by our Sophie.
My pet dog of 15 years could pass away at any moment. I’m heartbroken but this video has definitely helped me feel prepared and a little bit better thank you!
My dog is about 12 or 13 with increasing health issues. I’m not sure when her time will come to an end. But just like you I’m happy to be more prepared
Sunday, I lost my very very best friend of 14 years. His name was Jaybone. He was a beautiful lab retriever and border collie mixture. Smart and very loving.😢 He was sick. He had a large tumor removed from his tail last summer. He recovered amazingly even at 13 years. Over the winter months another tumor began and in addition smaller lumps appeared on his head. I knew his time was perhaps coming to an end. From runs to trots, to walking and having difficulty getting up a few steps. The last 2 weeks his breathing went from normal to heavy panting. All I wanted for him was to be comfortable. I buried him in our backyard a couple hours after everyone said their goodbyes. So hard. Thank you for the video ❤
Lost my good boy Max today, he was a gentle old soul, 15 years old. He was hit by a vehicle, I truly didn't expect to lose him like that. He was a labrador so I was dreading the task of digging a big enough grave. Thanks for this video, it's made me feel a bit more at peace.
I lost my friend Mimo recently like that too. He quickly learned to scale the backyard fence to go play with the neighbor's dogs. He found his way on the road one day after 10years. As an owner, i feel, I could have made better decisions. When God created the dog species its like he took his time. "Ye we gonna give tis one here unwavering loyalty, some bravery, unconditional love, absolute happyness, and a care free way of life." Chefs kiss. We truly don't deserve dogs. Rest in peace loved friend.💙
my good ol’ buddy of over 11 years passed away this morning, he was 14. Sprocket, you were the goodest boy and i’m heartbroken you didn’t make it to my 16th birthday.❤️
A guy in my town, made a pet cemetery, 25 years ago, people laughed. It filled up and expanded. Dogs, cats and ponys. Place is kept well. Always has visitors.
Thank you for the video, it was very informative and comforting. I haven't lost my Rat Terrier yet but it is close. I have had her 16yrs. and since she turned 16 in March, she has been going downhill. Never buried one at home but I want to have her close to me and my heart.
You are welcome. I am glad it helped. They have to leave one day and break our hearts. Just know what a wonderful life you gave your doggie and that they say thank you x
Thank you for giving me some important information and ideas for burying one of my beautiful cats (Chloe) soon. I have a location in my backyard, but the details of how to properly carry it out are greatly appreciated. ❤
This is a really helpful and thoughtful video. Although it applies to our cat I am really grateful for the helpful info. Thanks you so much for the clear and considerate advice.
Our terrier BUDDERBALL passed away in our arms today..here with the ones who loved her for 12 years.. Tomorrow i will bury her under our Olive tree..Rest in peace , our forever puppy..
My cat passed last week on Monday on my birthday and my dog passed last Sunday. It was both very sudden. My heart is broken in million pieces. I miss them so, so much. I had them buried next to each other in my backyard and it gives me a little comfort that i can visit their graves every day. I sit there and cry. I just could not stand the option of having them cremated.
When the vet said my 16 year old dog was going to pass in a few days i was set on a professional cremation. But his last 2 days my boy just loved being in his backyard laying in the sun and going to his water bowl. Thats when i knew that burying him in his garden which he loved was the right thing to do. This video was so helpful and compassionate.
My hamster died last month my mum waited for me to come home and I cried so hard and I’m stil crying now I miss him he’s berried in my garden near my living room . I normaly draw them a picture at school then keep it and put a flower in (it’s probs dead now) and I gave him his favepte treat in the box. Idk why I’m explains te hole story but there
14 y/o dog. A true fighter, still walks and occasionally run, but he has so many complications (including blindness). I wonder if I tortured him by keeping him alive. Tomorrow is his final day on earth and I'm confused. I don't want him to go. Thank for the heads-up. I need to be prepare.
It is so difficult and heart breaking but please know that you make this decision with love, for your dog. You don't want him to go but something in your heart is saying it is time. Trust your instinct. No one knows him like you x
@@DforDog I have a Chihuahua That is 14 years old as well and today I will be putting her down because she is in so much pain. I had thought the same thing but it’s really not fair to keep them around in pain. And I really don’t want to keep her drugged up; that is not a life! She has been with me through so many things. They are little faithful Friends for life. She went through a divorce with me she went through a hurricane she went through an earthquake, truly a little best friend! Hopefully, I’ll see her in paradise. 💯❤️
Hello, I burred out family pet. The kids and I made a wooden box. I used caulking to seal the sides to not allow bugs to creep in.... but.. I think that was what was supposed to happen. There is a little cervices I kept open for air. Very slight. My kids wanted it sealed. I knew we needed some air flow. Should I uncover the top of the little casket and drill wholes to allow more air circulation? Or is the very limited I have now ok. The box is made out of particle board plywood. It will degrade, but.. should I still make the holes? Thank you for nay insight. Anyone. Thank you so much or your time:)
I have seen in some other videos that people shake salt in the grave beneath and on top of a dog. Unfortunately, they didn’t explain why. I wonder if you know and can suggest if it’s necessary?
I don't know about that. All I can say is I have buried 4 dogs now, all as shown in this video and none with salt. Isnt salt a preservative? I cant see why anyone would suggest that.
I just had to bury a 65 pound dog which required a large hole. Unfortunately it hadn't rain in so long the ground was very hard even with a tiller. The grave is quite shallow. What I've been doing is to pour ammonia over the grave to keep other animals away and at night I lay a garbage can on its side over the grave. I'll repeat this for a few days. I hope this will be fine.
I will not cremate my pets ever. Disgusts me about cremation. I’d rather bury them in the backyard, so there is a graveyard. I always put their name on a stone slab with a Cross.
@@DforDog thank you. She was the greatest dog a girl could ever have. At least my family is allowing me to say goodbye on my own terms. Her funeral is going to be special she deserves it.

Cremation is a great option but you do need to check that you know what you are getting, that is all.
I buried my guniea pig and theres maggots. My dogs are also in the back yard. Will my dogs get infected?
For any burial you need to dig a deep grave. Was it too shallow?
I’m planning my dogs funeral and I just got her ashes tonight. I cried .

Hasn't anyone seen"Good Fellas"?
Don't forget the lime. Not the fruit lime. Lime for masonry or chalking baseball/ football fields.
Good idea but not needed unless it is a shallow or mass grave.
