And you probably should be worried if that many cops show up, it doesn't usually indicate all is well, even if aren't up to something. They don't show up or that unless it's a potentially dangerous situation, and that danger isn't just confined to the suspect and officers. But yes, there are probably some neighbors with guilty consciences sweating a little. In one of the Sherlock Holmes stories he mentions how the countryside seems so peaceful and quiet, but he came help but think every time he passes through how much horrible crime is actually happening behind those closed doors, in secret. And that always stuck me as a very convincing idea. You can live on a suburban street and your neighbors bring secret drug addicts is the least of your worries. There could be pretty appalling stuff going on in your neighbors place and you would have no idea. Kids and wives and pets (and husbands) are abused. People trade illegal stuff online. Reasonable Articulable Suspicion is not a sovereign citizen term, it's a legal and policing one. Of course he misapplies it, but it's still an important legal requirement.

Had he pulled over, showed both hands, opened the door from the outside, gotten out arms raised, and told them where the gun was he may have been let go as long as the gun was registered to him and he had a permit. Had he just stayed calm he could have said he waved/grabbed it because he felt threatened. If he had no priors, active warrant(s), or a rap sheet things may have worked out for him. Some people can't get out of their own way.

They just guessed? Especially if they give an accurate description of the gun. That's definitely enough to arrest on. By your logic you can't be arrested for any crime unless it gets caught on camera or witnessed, because it's only their word against yours. You might beat it in court, but it's definitely cause to arrest. Depending on the exact circumstances they might let you go, but brandishing a weapon is highly illegal, unless you can demonstrate a clear reason to believe you feared for your immediate safety. Then it's your word against theirs. See how that works? And if they called the cops and reported you but you didn't report them, in spite of "fearing for your life" that supports their claim.
