I know there are MANY who love the Q-jet. I don’t have an incredible amount of experience with them, but I would imagine you guys mean the non-emission style. I recently messed with an E4ME and it was a NIGHTMARE lol
Great video. But why would you not clean the top and every mechanical part on the carb? A true rebuild is making it look new. Even the chock cover was left dirty.
I ordered a jet kit for my 1405 carb. I couldn’t read the stripped out old jets or the needles. So I ordered a kit. Jets say 385, 401, and 308. The needles say 7347, 7937, and 7342. Then an assortment of springs. HELP. What goes where. Never had to rebuild a 1405 before and I have forgotten how. 74 and forgetting things.
Step 1, remove carburetor. Step 2, throw it in the trash! Step 3, install properly calibrated Quadrajet. Having said that, I enjoy your videos - along with this one.
I much prefer the Quadrajet but it hard to argue with the simplicity of an Edelbrock. Easy to tweak and fun to mess with. Nice job on the video.
Thanks! I'll dink with a Qjet here soon. Wanting to figure out how to convert one to e85.

@@r.joseph8911yeah, those don't count.
simple and straight to the point . thank you greatly
Thanks for checking it out!
Thank you! Picked up a 75 Camaro and this is my first time dealing with carburetors. Excited to learn more; great video!
Awesome video!! Thanks for posting. Was able to rebuild my carb very easily due to your video.
Glad it helped!
Hey- can you share details on the DIY hot tank, i.e. heater setup, etc.?
You can use an older crock pot that still works to heat the solution.
My rebuild kit came with 2 ball bearings, where do they go?
My rebuild kit came with the acc. pump cup and a seal and a washer etc. How does one take the original acc. pump apart so I can put the new cup on?

Where does that tiny clip go at 0:56 nest to the screw driver??
My carb has(I think) torx bit screws. Any internal difference?
i have a 1407... will this process work for it? thanks.
I don’t see y people even mess with putting new floats in and adjusting them. Old ones are good!
Great video 👍🏼

Did you locate the info needed? I'm doing a 1406 and am on the learning curve also, but I've figured out some of the basics.
Asome video boss
what tap size did you use for the drilled out jet? Please help. Thanks
5/16 - 24?
Nice.
Will the 1406 / 1405 rebuild kit work for a 1407 carb?
Why didn't you show replacement of the fuel screen on the carb?
How long and what did you put in your hot tank solution?
Little late BUT I let mine sit for about 4 hours - my carb wasn't overly dirty.
What did you use to clean the carb?
SuperClean! Also ran some diesel over a few things.
Thanks I’ll have to try it too

😂 I figured there was a reason why people were looking them up - turns out they're just limited in almost every way.
Thanks for hanging out!
