Keith Emerson's playing could be dazzlingly fast but it always remained musical, fascinating, full of emotion, intelligent and oh so BAFFLINGLY BRILLIANT. It never fails to contain wonderful freedom which carries me to weird and wonderful places.
He was and still is the Greatest ever. I got to see ELP in concert, it was in the front row on Keith's side. It was spectacular. Loved the part with the knife. So very sad when I heard that he was gone. He was my best friends idol. We cried together. The video for Black Moon is one of the best. Rest in Peace, we love you and miss you.

The impression he left on the universe is indelible! Worlds may come and go but Keith Emerson's music will remain in the ether till everything is gone and then it will be part of the cycling energy.
Keith Emerson meant the world to me for he was such a huge influence since I started playing the keyboards in 1974. I am humbled to my knees when someone says to me that they can here Keith's style in mine. Thank you Mr. Emerson you will be greatly missed.
My favourite band in my teens, Pictures at a Exhibition, Trilogy and Tarkus - yes! Saw them live at Wembley, just awesome. I remember Keith setting up his keyboard and leaving the stage to get a beer 😂
I'm soo sad, first rock concert I took my son to in Philly, he was 12, Keith used the scabbards and, strapped to the organ, he did flips on stage, then threw the old Hammond organ across the stage. All while being on of the greatest keyboard players of our age. RIP Keith, you blessed us with your gift to entertain while you played amazing music. I know every ELP song, and will never forget. :(
+Quintessentguy I am with you in solidarity .Keith Emerson, a great musician, whose death struck me !!! 40 years and to this moment I listen to his immortal compositions ... not sated !!! His place in Paradise, Paradise !!! And my heart is with him ...............................
I've always been in awe of this guy. Tarkus is a great track to show his gift, especially Stones Of Years, the percussion Hammond build! Nobody had done anything like that before! It's unearthly, barkingly brilliant.
I witnessed Keith, Greg and Carl live 6 times. From the first concert their music progressed. However, their musical ability, on Keyboards, Bass/Guitar/Vox and Drums/Percussion were demonstrated at the first show - I was hooked!
His style and works shall not ever be duplicated and will live on forever. Thank You Keith for your contribution to the world of musical greats! You made the synthesizer what it is and shall ever be! R.I.P.
@Kooper50 Thank you for bringing the definition of "infamy" to my attention. I learned something new today thanks to you. My comment has been edited. 👍
Why on earth..........is ELP not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame???????? They deserve it more than any band. Please contact them and let them know how important it is to include ELP in their rightful place.
imho Tarkus remains Emersons most aggressive piece of work.....I remember saving up to buy the album and played it to death.....back in the day this was prog rock at its best....saw them play this live at Empire Pool wembley and it was simply awesome ...Thank you
I was already a fan when I first heard Tarkus. I boughty it the day it came out. Its inovation and complexity floored me. I got to sse ELP perform it live on the WBMFTTSTNE tour. The synthesizer jab on Aquatarkus remains one of all time favorite tracks.
Never thought I'd find the tears in my eyes for a UA-cam video. This is the 1st. How I loved his skill and showmanship.Thank goodness that his recordings will live on, and on, and on . . . .
I agree. It's not often that I am moved to tears, but this video instantly serves to remind me of what a brilliant and irreplaceable pianist the world has lost in Keith Emerson. He was a true genius and pure magic to the ears. I will always enjoy his musical masterpieces for ever.
Is there anyone Skunk Baxter hasn't played with? ELP was all high energy and the best entertaining three piece stage band i ever saw. And all for a meager $7.00 and a couple joints.

Every time I hear this remarkable gifted musician. I flashback to the concerts I saw of them. Welcome back my friends and Works vol. 2 I admit it was quite awhile. I miss this music God. The whole(ELP) band gives me goosebumps as I reflect on how what a "Lucky Man" I was to witness these gifts of God. R.I.P. Kieth and Greg 😇
Keith Emerson was the model, a paragon of symphonic rock and his musical sensibilities allowed him to bring to life a very personal idiom that encompasses jazz, science and rock. It gave me the courage to believe in rock'n'roll and its power to reach people from all over the world, from the most ardent guitarist of the blues to the detached and passionate musical conductor
Rick wakeman a real good friend of Keith’s is up there with him & Jon lord.keith had to be good holding up a band with hardly any guitar. He was ELP, sorry Greg and Carl
I'm 70, I was first introduced to ELP as an aspiring bassist. It was pure 'stoner' music. Hash in the basement of a friend.. kept me 'turned on'! Awesome band.
Great montage, full of provoking images and worthy of many views. Wow, memories come flooding back. I listened to Pictures at an Exhibition and Tarkus as part of the soundtrack of my youth. On 8-track in my car watching the sun go down on country roads, just me and ELP. :>)

Legend indeed. Keith Emerson was the greatest rock keyboardist ever. His music defined progressive rock at its very best. Great job on this video compilation! So many never-seen pictures of Emerson. I recognize Wakeman in a couple of the shots, and is it Jon Lord in one picture? Man, do I miss ELP!

Lost a very big musical hero of mine. Keith Emerson, musical giant and genius. Your timeless talents and creativity will go on, RIP Keith and thanks for the great music and memories.
The music world has lost a very magnificent and talented man. Keith Emerson wherever you're at now I hope that you are at peace with yourself. God bless you for the music you brought to this world to make it a happier place.

Not only was Keith a gifted performer but as a composer I would rank him as one the true geniuses of all time.
Keith Emerson's playing could be dazzlingly fast but it always remained musical, fascinating, full of emotion, intelligent and oh so BAFFLINGLY BRILLIANT. It never fails to contain wonderful freedom which carries me to weird and wonderful places.
50 years ago this year....Emerson Lake and Palmer was my first rock concert...ever.
No one is better. If there was no rock he would've been considered the greatest concert pianist
Emerson, Lake, and Palmer took us places musically that we had never been before, nor dare say we will never go again.

No extremely boring and unstructured piece of shit "music"!
@@irish-medi-weed-grower5240 Sounds like you suffer from the 8:40 induced HUTA Syndrome. You should stick to listening to Boy George.
@@michaelwirth6843 And what do YOU consider "structured" music?
Keith Emerson was a genius on the keyboard, whose unique sound and style will forever linger in our consciousness.
🙏
He was certainly "on" the keyboard at the start of this video.
@mags jay Me too ! I miss Keith and Greg ! Hope to see Carl when he gets back on the road !
Keith, Rick & John, the 3 keyboards kings
Rest in peace Keith Emerson. You are sadly missed. Your legacy is in the music you gave us.🙏♥️

Sorry but that crown had already been given to Rick Wakeman. Keith is a master nevertheless
