Pursuit of Flight Kinetic Sculpture

- This is a LEGO kinetic sculpture of two airplanes flying over a countryside landscape. The main model features a Sopwith Camel and Fokker Dr1, but it can be customized to showcase other aircraft, birds or even spaceships. The landscape on the base can be customized as well.
Unfortunately, this did not pass review on LEGO Ideas, but building instructions for it are now freely available on my website: jkbrickworks.com/pursuit-of-f...
Thanks to all those that supported the project while it was gathering support!

That's a shame :(
Really ??? I thought you get enough votes !!
I’m so disappointed... I would have bought it for sure
So sorry 😐
It is a crime not to be able to buy a set like this.
Very cool. You should combine it with a rolling landscape for a more in flight effect...similarly to how to how the lawnmowing guy was done.
I'm always so amazed by how your ideas incorporate such natural movement. Such a simple mechanism and yet it absolutely tells the story of one plane chasing another.
Really nice MOC - I'll support it for sure!

GhdggghĥwWwwwwwwwwwwwwwweweewwwwwwwwwwwwË
Tie Fighter chasing an X-Wing over Death Star Terrain!! Awesome MOC
You make the coolest lego creations ever
Definitely the Spirit of St. Louis and Amelia Earhart's Lockheed! Awesome model once again and I can't wait to see the Star Wars themed version.
Your sound effects with the end battle are top notch.
It's been one day and there's already 1000+ supporters on Lego Ideas?!
I can see that there's hope for this project.
Can you make one that's Snoopy vs the red baron?
That would be awesome!
Snoopy pilots a Sopwith Camel, and the unnamed enemy pilots a Fokker tridecker, so he actually already has.
Oh cool!
TEN-TWENTY-THIRTY-FORTY-FIFTY OR MORE, THE BLOODY RED BARON WAS ROLLIN'' UP THE SCORE! EIGHTY MEN DIED FOR TO END THAT SPREE, OF THE BLOODY RED BARON OF GERMANY!
That is the best idea ever.
Your ideas are like Lego mindstorms
Star wars themed version in the bottom right of the screen at 3:32
Maybe the "natural theme" is in the table in the back too :)
Every time I see one of these kinetic sculptures on your channel, I think “they’ll never get cooler than this one”, and then a even cooler one comes out.
Really like the look for the Fokker
imagine if half of the people who watched this video supported that ideas page. It would get to 10,000 so fast!
I built your LEGO aviator and it is so cool! It was a lot bigger and more expensive than I expected, but totally worth it. I bought all the pieces from a store for about $50. The sculpture now sits proudly on a shelf in my room.
Cool, that's awesome!
So you are basically the idea for Lego Forma... love this :)
This would make great Rise Of Flight merch
The iconic planes that you had mounted at the beginning of the video are Charles Lindbergh's "Spirit of St. Louis' and Amelia Earhart's Lockheed Vega 5B, both were instrumental to the industry of aviation as Charles was the first to cross the Atlantic on a non-stop flight and Amelia was the first female pilot to do the same as Charles, great kinetic sculpture btw. Also, I think it would be great if you include The Soviet WW2 fighter Lavochkin LaGG-3 and the Nazi Bf 109
The movement is so realistic!!
I saw a tie fighter and a Death Star trench on the side of the desk. That would be cool to see for this technique
The Camel and Fokker are awesome! I’d love to be able to buy this. Off to the support page!
I would love to see all of your creations make it all the way to to the top at Lego.
Your work is added to LEGO!
Supported. I'd buy two so I could have WW1 and Death Star surface. Very cool.
Delightful model once again!
I saw a video that showcased your works on FB. I was intrigued, so I checked out this one. When I was younger, I used to experiment with mechanisms similar to the ones in this model xD. It really got me feeling nostalgic -- thank you!
Absolutely amazing!
That is beautiful. 👌👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍👍
1k supporters in a day? You got this in the bag. Good luck!
God I love this channel
Great build! Thank you so much for making the instructions available!
Wow! super insane!
Elegantly simple and a beautiful model! Love it!
Super cool! Good luck getting full support!
20 seconds in, haven't put my headphones on yet and I cant stop smiling at how awesome this is. lol your creations are always amazing!! Can't wait to watch this soon!!!
Very nice!
If this was in the stores it would be amazing.
I am supporting it.
The Planes are so cool!!! 😊😊😄😄
Lindbergh's Spirit of St Louis and Earhart's Lockheed Vega 5B! Two transatlantic flyers.
Your lego book is now an actual lego idea
The silver one is the “Spirit of St. Louis“.
The spirit of st.louis isn’t a battle plane its the plane that got from New York to France it was a historical event
MM MG yeah I said that in another comment.

This is genius! The mechanism is simple but yet really efficient. Awesome job, Jason!
Simple yet elegant. I love it!
Ooooh....it's so beautiful model 😀
This looks amazing!
Supported!
And the red one is the “Miss Veedol“
Dang it, you beat me to it :D
LOVE IT
That is a really great idea for a set
Thumbs up Jason. Looks like a dancing hip motion
Love it. Good work!
Brilliant as always Jason! Entertaining and educational - love your (Brick)work!
Never fails to impress! 🐼👍
OMG this is your best one yet
They where the first planes crossing the Pacific and Atlantic ocean I think.
Illuminati corp. in the intro they are a sopwith camel and Fokker dr.1 (The Red Baron’s plane) they are WW1 fighters of Britain and Germany respectively.
HP Lego I know but he dad two alternate models. I ment these.
Illuminati corp. just Write ohne comment
Boom Pyro don't get it.
CabinDoor trank you
Another masterpiece! I have a fondness for micromodels, especially vehicles, so already supporting!
Very cool mechanism. I really love the motion of the planes--it was a stroke of genius to offset them like that!
I love how you show the mechanics of how it all works 💕 I really must try movement with my LEGO stuff 😀
It would be amazing if Jay could run a new LEGO kinetic sculptures line. I really wish LEGO would explore this avenue
I would totally buy this if it was an ideas set. Awesome build!
I really want to see the tie fighter with the turret base against an Xwing!
Looks great! Although it’s probably impossible, it’d be cool to see the propellers on the front of the planes spin as well
This is really cool!
Nice. Supported.Reminds me of set 10183. Could have lots of potential for in box variations.
You're a MONSTER!!!
Really cool, kind of unfortunate that the propellers dont turn while flying.
I tried to make your version using only technic bricks and i'm happy i do this. I'l make the 180 degrees diference. But your idea give me real thinking about potential of bricks in space. It's really difficult to build it myself with your video help but i have it done and i'm thankful to you
Absolutely awesome! I’m thinking if you add a third leg either attached to the front or rear of the plane off phase you can get a sweet sway in the yaw (ie, tail drag)
this looks sick, very well made
Absolute genius.
Love your vids
Supported it !
Would be cool to see something like that as a official lego set !
Have a nice day.
Amazing idea
Great build 👍
These look wonderful. You have my support!
Thanks!
That’s so cool! U should do snoopie and the Red Baron. That would be awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The outro was the best part. (not really but I still loved it)
Nice good job!!👍👍👍
ACH! Ist der Rot Baron in die Fokker Dr1! Wunderbar!!
I need this in my life.
Supported. Always astounded at the relative simplicity of most of your mechanical sculptures, Jason. #itsthesimplethings #soeffective
Thanks dude!
Nice use of the bloody Barron’s tri-plane in the begging
Super cool
One of my favorite builds
Amazing
Nice swooshing!
Just knew about you guys from The Brick Show farewell message. impressive model!
THAT IS THE THE COOLEST
Amazing.
This is so awesome! I simply cannot wait (or count on) a Lego set to come out so I'm going to build my own! Hope you don't mind!
The grey one is the Spirit of St. Louis.
Yup!
AWESOME
I challenge you to create a larger one with spinning propellers
Great work Jason
You are amazing♡ love from South Korea
Thank you so much for doing a star wars themed version
really good I'll support
Supported👍🏻
Reminds me of Porco Rosso! Great model mate! :)
