Although I use PS for 20 years now (always latest version) and know my way around it and in depth, you keep surprising me in the way you explain things ;-)
And with the item menu and the appropriate links in your comment, your channel is one of the leanest and cleanest out here .
Chapeau !
Thank you, RS!
wooww,, it's awesome sirr,,
i think saturation bar in vibrance has same function with saturation on saturation bar,,
but on video 05:43 i get the answer,,
what do you think about this guys?
your time stamp make me fing the point broo,
thanks
i think use vibrance or saturation depend on your image and what do you want,
but this video make me can explain it,
Thanks for this. Useful explanation between HSB and HSL. I'm still not sure though how the B/W adjustment layer works? I thought it too was based on human perception (HSB) but it shows a different result to reducing the saturation slider in a Vibrance adjustment layer?
Thanks a lot
You're welcome, lamees!
8:05 😐 He misspelled something and then later replaced it... went unnoticeable👏👏
I did! Good eye!
Dope!
Thank you, Hertz Designs!
I wish Adobe would change the Black and White Adjustment layer to run with HSB instead of HSL that would be nice.
Or give you the option to choose 🙂
@@PhotoshopTrainingChannel Absolutely
Thank you
You're welcome, Tristan!
cool tip: if you want/need to keep brightness info in the Hue/Saturation (just like vibrance), you can apply 'Hue or Color' Blend modes
Nice video and its my fastest comment to any video
Thank you, dhruv!
Wow! I've learned a new thing about the difference in saturation adjustment layers today....Thank You Jesus sir...You are great.

Thank you, Jason!
Useful information and well illustrated. Now if I could just slow down how fast you are talking I wouldn't have to keep going back and replaying sections in order to understand what you are saying while trying to see what you are showing.
Love from Bhopal
I have a general idea of what Saturation and Vibrance do, so that helps when watching this complex video. HSB vs HSL.
👍🙂
witch camera and lans making this video.....?
Does the vibrance slider in PS act in the same way as the vibrance slider in LR?
Yes! It does
My vibrance adjustment layer doesnt bring up the colour gradients? Using latest photoshop
Folks should be aware these settings do not exclusively affect saturation values. They also affect hue and luminosity. With photorealistic content, maybe that is okay, but with line art/animation content, it may be more desirable to create a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer and adjust specifically one setting (Hue, Saturation or Brightness), and then configure the layer blending for this adjustment layer to be that of whichever setting you adjusted.
For instance, a vibrance slider almost always lowers/darkens the luminosity values for the targeted pixels. And a saturation adjustment to a low saturation pixel tends to increase the luminosity. These are common and don't tend to be desirable if the image manipulation work you are doing is meant to be absolute. I _only_ want to target the absolute saturation or the absolute hue, but Adobe Photoshop and GIMP almost always adjust additional pixel values beyond just what you intend.
And so I feel these things to be misleading. "Saturation" is not exclusively "saturation" in these image manipulation programs.
Is using solid color adj layer for each color with soft light mode better? Problem with PS is there are too many ways to do a same thing
I agree with you but I will not say that thing a problem we think that they are similar but technically their work are differ from each other as you noticed in this video
Hello i have make a logo in Photoshop but i didn't make the background transparent i have make it black, now i need a transparent logo how do i remove the background in my logo?
When I am post processing some files, and i selected FILE > SCRIPTS > IMAGE PROCESSOR to save all the files in one click . There is a windows opens for every PHOTO that shows [THE COMMAND FEATHER IS NOT AVAILABLE, HOW can i remove this]
What would you say is the difference between brightness and lightness in this context?
Hey, could you tell me when to use saturation instead of vibrance, cause this video makes me prefer vibrance over saturation
In most cases, you will use Vibrance to boost the intensity of colors in an image. But in some cases, if vibrance doesn't get you what you need you can then add a bit of saturation. If you are painting or drawing in Ps then Saturation might be the better choice.
@@PhotoshopTrainingChannel thank you so much, this actually helps me a lot☺️
how to get all your tutorials?
So if you want to desaturate an image, which adjustment layer would appear more interesting to our eyes?
Vibrance adjustment would probably give you the best results. But the Black and White Adjustment will give you more control because you can adjust the brightness of each color individually.
Photoshop Training Channel Thank you!
Excellent.... Are you a friend of Unmesh?
Who?
iam neglected this tutorial .but when viewed i got it this jesus were he standalone
👍
So should we use Vibrance more or Saturation more ? And is HSL mode better or HSB ?
"Better" is a relative term. Use the one that gets you the results you want. I prefer Vibrance since it gives you more subtle resutls.
Hope your channel beat 👊 fast piximperfect
Hi Jesus
I like your videos, and your work needs to be supported.
Once said that, let me give my opinion about the last part of the video when you describe the 2 different Saturation sliders:
On Hue/Sat, the Saturation refers to HSB, and on Vib/Sat, the Saturation slider refers to HSL
I agree they are totally different, and I agree the second one (Vib/Sat) refers to what is perceived by the human eye/brain.
I also agree the first (Vib/Sat) has a reference on top of HSL, particularly on Lightness channel interpretation.
However, I disagree the second one refers to HSB.
It is easy to see that if we use the HSB/HSL plugin and check the Brightness channel of the vertical bar of Hues. The brightness is all the same, and there is no "human perceived brightness" in there at all.
When it calls anything about the standardization of what is "perceived" by the human eye/brain, it results from the CIE commission when the science created the CIE Lab profile. L channel is the resulted standardization on how the humans perceived the lightness of each individual color: Perceptual Lightness
So, in my humble opinion, the 2 sliders of Vibrance/Saturation are based on the Perceived Lightness of the standard CIE Lab.
Despite that, I think Adobe misses a clarification about what tools are based on Perceived brightness and not perceived (HSB/HSL)
Hsb& lab color different work
You are better than piximperfect

hot hot hot channel is *PTC* . ptc is so _hot_ 😎😍
Thank you, PAFE CAFE!
*Vibrance* triggers Midtones
*Saturation* triggers all the colors.
Simple!
Vibrance has nothing to do with midtones. Like I said in the video it protects saturated pixels and skin tones. Here's an article about it from Adobe.

Prove him wrong then.
I did. I sent you the link to Adobe. The people who make the software. If he said in th video, then he is misinformed.
And if you want further proof. Here's, another page from the Adobe website on Vibrance in Lightroom which is the same as Photoshop. Adobe hired me to write that page and it was verified by their engineers for accuracy.
