I am a huge fan of your channel and would recommend it to anyone who uses Photoshop. One of the things I love most about your tutorials is how you always describe every operation and give the keystroke and shortcut. This is one of the primary reasons your presentations are so valuable to every Photoshop user, from beginners to professionals. Keep up the great work!

I love how he repeats key explanations, but in slightly different ways, and throughout the video. he understands that these topics are complex for newbies, and he gets the value of repetition. Very excellent teacher. Thank you very much!

This was so incredibly helpful and the perfect timing! Thanks to you, I was able to mask my niece and all of her flyaway hair to replace the sunset behind her with a more interesting one. Then I used the new composite as a reference photo for a pastel portrait for my dad’s birthday. Even my graphic designer sister was impressed! Thank you so so much for your many helpful videos. I have recommended your channel to so many students and faculty at my university.

Very very powerful technique that already saved me lots of time. Besides that thank you for not playing annoying royalty free audio in the background. Way easier to concentrate that way.

As soon as you started 'burning' the duplicate channel I realised where you were going - this is so simple and utterly brilliant!! I just did a close-up of a bumble bee and it looks perfect.

I like to use 'Calculations' to blend the channels, then 'Apply Image' to enhance it, that gives you a great selection.

I've spend 4+ yeas in the adobe creative suite and always hesitated learning more about channels and masks because I was comfortable doing things "the easier way" when in reality this way works miracles and can be applied in so many ways. thank you. @@PhotoshopTrainingChannel Hello Jesus. I have just got around to trying this technique on your image. I get to the creating the clipping mask OK, but when I use the paint brush and sample on the image, it does not register - it just uses the previous value. I have to select the layer , sample and then go back again. The only difference I can see is that my smoothing is blank and yours is 0%. I dont see how this can make a difference.

To get even more options than just the Red Blue and Green Channels you could also use the Black & White Adjustment layer! Not only does that give you the additional Yellow, Cyan and Magenta colors, you can also adjust the brightness. When you're satisfied with your base, jut merge the adjustment layer to the image and copy it into a new channel.

Hi, Jesus! When you load the selection from the Channels panel, you can also switch tools, go to one that selects, enter the Refine Selection (don't remember the current name for the tool), and in the end decontaminate colors, which basically does the same you did with the brush and a bit faster!
Cheers and thank you for all the content!

One of the best video tutorials I have seen in a long time. YOUR THE BEST!!!!
How do you select parts of the image that are not in focus? I always have this issue when clipping or masking out products. It is difficult cause not only do I have to clip/mask it out… but I also have to put it on a different color background and the part of the product not in focus has so much of the color from the background it was shot on that its hard blending into the new background.
Would love to see more videos how to work with reflective items such as glass, water and jewelry. Its always difficult placing those items on new backgrounds because they are transparent and need to show the new background they are on. Also these items pick up reflections to the surrounding areas like crazy and need to show the new reflections to the new environment. Would LOVE to see tutorials and techniques how to work with such reflective/transparent items
