Walt Disney *did* visit this place...while traveling to get ideas for Disneyland,he didn't think much of what the American amusement park had become (this was the early 50's),but he was impressed by Rock City, particularly Fairyland Caverns.
My son had a field trip a couple years ago to Chattanooga and we went here. I always thought it was still in Tennessee.... They never told us any different.... Thanks for clarifying that it's actually in Georgia.
I have fond memories of this place as a kid, I loved it so much! The part that I can't seem to forget is the caverns at the end. As a child it filled me with so much wonder and I've remembered it as the most magical place I had ever been. Thanks for this video, it brought back so many great memories ♥
Carpetbaggers you are right! This attraction is definitely cool! It's one of those rare glimpses of old school attractions that are getting harder to find in this day and age! I always look forward to your videos,bro.....keep up the good work!
Say what you will, but, until I saw this video, I didn't realize Rock City was a real place! I have seen the barns with the signs, but thought it was just for nostalgia or whimsy. On a recent roadtrip up to NY (with my Wife), I made it a point to stop here on the way back. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and want to stop back when we have more time! Thank you Jacob for filming this.
hey CarpetBagger,,, hope ya got yourself a "fairy tale book" at the gift shop and brushed up on all of the ChildHood Tales,,, ya didn't seem to know much about them as ya went into the Mother Goose Cave,, ha ha ha,, i saw there were little signs telling ya about the stories, but ya failed to show any of them up-close,,, i just guessed them as i recalled those wonderful and horrifying stories of my youth,,, the actual rock formations and cliffs are fantastic tho,,, need to plan a trip to ROCK CITY one of these days, and hope i don't get stuck inside the "Needle Eye" or the "FatMan Squeeze" ha ha ha,,,, THANKS for posting as always,,, and keep on traveling
Its amazing that this place is still in such good condition and so many people still enjoy this,....hopefully it will continue and not go the way of so many abandoned sites.... good day to you! Sass
I won't be able to visit this rocky place, due to fear heights and feeling like I can't breath. Thanks for sharing Rock City. looks cool.Loved the stone witch.
Thank you thank you!! Been waiting for you to post this!! Love this place so much, been there many times! It's nice to see it again! I love what you do, keep it up :)
@Kathy -- also out in Utah where there are 1000s of rock formations and platforms for "ending it all" if so inclined... also Lover's Leap in Colo, and Ariz, and prob lots of other states as well
It's SOOOOOO much better in person!!!! Thank u sooo much for postin this!!!! Oh my gosh I had a little snow globe from THERE!!!!! This is my favorite place ever! My family is from Tennessee and we would go there sometimes when we went to see em! Oh the MEMORIES🙊🙊🙊🙊❣❣❣❣
Jacob, thanks for the Rock City tour. I hv lived in TN forever n not gone there, silly i know....and now i cannot. It was nice to see it, FINALLY! THANKS
At the start of the video, you can see a place called ‘The Fudge Kitchen’. I went there about a year ago, and their fudge is AMAZING! Especially the cookies and cream. Pretty expensive though.
Omg I forgot about this place, my grandma took me here when I was about 6. I think this is what inspired me to do flourescent painting, When did that gnome start vaping?
Rock City is a magical place. There is another section you missed with a tribute to Tom Thumb Golf and the original gatehouse, where you can watch a short film about RC's origins.
'Smells like Cave of the Sewer!' Hilarious!! Looks like a cool place, if I ever make it to your neck of the woods, I'll have to check it out! Thanks for the fun video!
Beautiful footage until the Fairytale caverns! I wont sleep now knowing that place exists! JAcob, you work in CPS.....you should have stopped that old woman in the shoe from beating the crap out of that kid! Lol! Enjoyed it my friend!
I love the roadside attractions you've shown on here. This is stuff I never got to see when I was traveling around. Thanx for sharing This awesome stuff.
This park is slightly horrifying. I'd be afraid to be crushed or fall to my death the entire time. The fairytale part reminds me a lot of the dark rides at Disneyland with the glow in the dark paint and all.
Good video. I was there years ago. You should go to Eureka Springs Ark. sometime, if you haven't been. It's very interesting and unique, lots of old style Victorian homes, great scenery also.
Most children don't know these nursery rhymes any more as they don't seem to be taught them now. I loved the old Grimm's fairy tales as a child, I just hope they don't die out completely, would be a shame.
Ice Ice Baby...I love your sense of humor Jacob! Mr Van Winkle would be pleased. I never knew how awesome the Smokey Mountains were until I saw you and Adam The Woo's videos...I'm impressed....Can you answer what the background music @17:53 is? A hint is it's the most forgotten theme music from a horror series that never included the villain in the film or the original premise to the series? Peace & Fun
Thank you Carpetbagger! I am glad to see Rock City again! Went when I was a kid. Was hoping Fairy Tale Caverns was still there!! I love that part best of all!! Zak Bagan's of Ghost Adventures has a museum full of cursed items......please go there! I want to see inside it all!!! I have been binge watching your show. Thanx!! It's been fun!
I honestly got scared when he was walking accross the swinging bridge, and all those people standing on lovers leap, this is the most terrifying thing I've ever watched, more than any horror movie out there.
yes @STASH,,, they were very "dark" in the themes to many of the "childhood tales" like "ding, dong dell--pussy in the well" and "rock-a-bye baby on the tree top" who puts a poor kitty in the well to drown? and who rocks a baby to sleep on top of a huge tree? esp when the branch breaks and the baby falls down,,, oh no or "wee willy winky runs thru the town, upstairs and downstairs in his nightgown",, checking on the children? what a town perv
yes MrCoolPants -- the CarpetBagger needs to brush up on his Fairy Tales,,, he doesn't seem to know what most of the little people/characters/situations mean -- i was reciting them as he went along,,, very fun to recall those outlandish little short tales
Walt Disney *did* visit this place...while traveling to get ideas for Disneyland,he didn't think much of what the American amusement park had become (this was the early 50's),but he was impressed by Rock City, particularly Fairyland Caverns.
I had not heard about that, but it makes complete sense
This is my worst nightmare...tight enclosed places and heights! Glad you could go so I can vicariously enjoy without a heart attack ha ha!
me too. I thought I would have a panic attack on his behalf.
or worse on a swinging bridge and some clown/ Kid decides to rock it on purpose :/
True that bro.
My son had a field trip a couple years ago to Chattanooga and we went here. I always thought it was still in Tennessee.... They never told us any different.... Thanks for clarifying that it's actually in Georgia.
We built this city...
We built this city on rock and rooooolll...
ShootingStarNeo "We built this city on rock and gnomes"* dunno how you missed that

I have fond memories of this place as a kid, I loved it so much! The part that I can't seem to forget is the caverns at the end. I've been waiting for this one. I live in Knox and never understood what was up with the see rock city signs. Thank you...
Rock city is real close to Tennessee.. Beautiful
Carpetbaggers you are right! This attraction is definitely cool! It's one of those rare glimpses of old school attractions that are getting harder to find in this day and age! I always look forward to your videos,bro.....keep up the good work!
The most horrifying thing about that place is the public domain music they are blasting throughout the attraction lol.
Say what you will, but, until I saw this video, I didn't realize Rock City was a real place! I have seen the barns with the signs, but thought it was just for nostalgia or whimsy. You should go to the Christmas lights at rock city. It’s my family tradition since we live so close in Chattanooga

You need to come back to rock city in the winter! The Christmas display will blow your mind
Why does that place look familiar?
Oh my god... I've been there before. Only when I was little. Now I wanna go see it again!!!
Thank you thank you!! Been waiting for you to post this!! Love this place so much, been there many times! It's nice to see it again! I love what you do, keep it up :)
That same legend of 2 Indian lovers leaping to their death, "Lover's Leap" exists outside of Gate City, VA at Natural Tunnel.

I used to go to rock city as a kid. Loved all of it.
Been there tons of times in my younger days. I love that place! Down in Ruby Falls is great too!
There are multiple spots you can see seven states in; such as Clingman's Dome
Rock City is a magical place. There is another section you missed with a tribute to Tom Thumb Golf and the original gatehouse, where you can watch a short film about RC's origins.
I've been wanting to visit this place for a long time. Nice video
'Smells like Cave of the Sewer!' Hilarious!! Looks like a cool place, if I ever make it to your neck of the woods, I'll have to check it out! Thanks for the fun video!
Rock City is one of my all time favorite places too - I was also in Tenn on that same day but I was in Memphis for Elvis Week
A great great job, I grew up near Rock City, it was nice to review Rock City,
I agree we with u on saying that platform sticking over the ledge looks rather sketchy for sure!
Awesome...I will definitely have to visit...maybe even a quick visit to junkyard city at the base :)
Beautiful footage until the Fairytale caverns! I wont sleep now knowing that place exists! JAcob, you work in CPS.....you should have stopped that old woman in the shoe from beating the crap out of that kid! Lol! Enjoyed it my friend!

hey jacob, you should get a drone n include ariel shots into your videos like adam does,i think its so cool to get a birdseye veiw of certain things
I want one bad, but I am trying to save up for a quality one
Dwayne Woods hard to fly a drone in certain places like that too high up and too windy
This park is slightly horrifying. I'd be afraid to be crushed or fall to my death the entire time.
The fairytale part reminds me a lot of the dark rides at Disneyland with the glow in the dark paint and all.
Black light paint
Great video. I'm going there in June.
8:14 The kid's laugh. LOL
Very cool place! Thanks for sharing!!!
I used to go here all the time growing up. It's amazing how Fairyland Caverns hasn't changed at all. (I always thought it was kinda creepy. Lol.)
This was awesome!!! I never knew that place existed.
It is so amazing there, i loved it, i really have got to plan another trip there
I just love your videos so much! I miss living in the south! I lived in NC

Good work, Thanks Jacob.
Wow
That place really ROCKs
Mea Culpa. I forgot it's on the border. It's been a good many years since I've been there.
I've been there. The heights and tight spaces made me a bit nervous but over all it was really fun
Wow thanks that was so awesome! I could stay there all day!
Carpetbagger, you squeezed through!
Good video. I was there years ago. You should go to Eureka Springs Ark.
sometime, if you haven't been. It's very interesting and unique, lots

Always wanted to go there.
We have a Rock City in Nottingham.
The UK’s best independent live venue and club. So slightly different to yours 😀.
I went there like three times it's awesome!!!!!!!!

I've been there when I was like 16. I am now 33 and not much has changed.
Jeez! this video triggered my memory of how much I hated that bridge!!😂
I wanted to on the bridge last time I was there but it was closed off, im going again on Christmas, so hopefully i can go on it this time!
Most children don't know these nursery rhymes any more as they don't seem to be taught them now. I loved the old Grimm's fairy tales as a child, I just hope they don't die out completely, would be a shame.
I visited a rock city in Olean Ny. It wasn't nearly as big as this.
Ice Ice Baby...I love your sense of humor Jacob! Mr Van Winkle would be pleased. I never knew how awesome the Smokey Mountains were until I saw you and Adam The Woo's videos...I'm impressed....Can you answer what the background music @17:53 is? Amazing!

i loved seeing this place, what a great attraction :-)
Fairy Tales and Nursery Rhymes are extremely violent! Ring Around the Rosy describes the symptoms of the Bubonic Plague....we all fall down.
Oh no really? I totally haven't been told so at least a thousand times. This is sure news.
yes @STASH,,, they were very "dark" in the themes to many of the "childhood tales" like "ding, dong dell--pussy in the well" and "rock-a-bye baby on the tree top" who puts a poor kitty in the well to drown? and who rocks a baby to sleep on top of a huge tree? esp when the branch breaks and the baby falls down,,, oh no or "wee willy winky runs thru the town, upstairs and downstairs in his nightgown",, checking on the children? what a town perv
15:37 I think thats billy goats gruff
yes MrCoolPants -- the CarpetBagger needs to brush up on his Fairy Tales,,, he doesn't seem to know what most of the little people/characters/situations mean -- i was reciting them as he went along,,, very fun to recall those outlandish little short tales
Went here on a family vacation when I was very young in 1977! I thought gnomes were real then! Good memories!
